Well, I’m back. Spent the morning driving around Chester County, PA, going to used book stores, having breakfast, looking at all the foliage blooming. It was nice to get out of the city for a while, and Chester County is one of the most beautiful places in the country.
And now the NFL draft is underway. I have the strange distinction of being a Giants fan living in Philly (ssshhh…), which is actually quite dangerous.
It’s also a boring draft for Giants fans because we traded our 1st round pick last year when we moved up to get Eli Manning as our quarterback.
So, do you like NFL football? What’s your favorite team? Do you have any opinions on the draft so far?
With the first pick the 49ers selected Alex Smith, a quarterback from Utah.
I’ll tell you what….
The Detroit Lions now have three wideouts: Roy Williams, Mike Williams, and Carlos Rogers. That trio could be the best wide receiver corp in NFL history.
actually, it’s Charles Rogers…Andrea Kremer did the same thing during an interview. (Carlos is a DB from Auburn.) It’s good to have 3 great WRs, but geez, you gotta wonder if the Lions shouldn’t have been addressing some of their other needs.
Thanks for the correction. I should have known which Rogers is which.
The Lions should have the scoring part addressed. Now for stopping the other guy.
Oh, and figuring out how to be intimidating when you are wearing powder blue.
well, the Chargers got all the way to the AFC Championship wearing an even less masculine powder blue. Then again, they had Charlie Joiner, Dan Fouts and Kellen Winslow. The Lions have…uh…some guys.
Love football – have the distinction of being a 49er faithful.
Oh the thrills of the great years! And a couple of well worn superbowl sweatshirts still around!
After last year’s season with the Niners – I’m in a wait and see mode. Currently working on padding the space under my desk where I hide when they play like shit. Don’t want to get bruises from banging my head again this year.
😉
Well, you had a lot of success with another QB from Utah.
Maybe this guy Alex Smith will be a hall-of-famer too.
I haven’t seen him play, so I don’t know. But he stats are amazing.
well, the bad news for me is, I guess Ken Dorsey isn’t the long-term answer for you guys. Give Dorsey a chance, someone!
since I drove up to have a free lunch at Haverford College. Most of the campus is in Delco, although a small part is Montco.
I’ll have to remember that you are in that neck of the woods. Maybe i can come harrass you on one of my occasional trips north.
Sounds good. PAteacher teaches in DelCO.
but baseball’s my game.
Can only bring myself to look at football on TV — occasionally. Football suffers as a game, IMHO, because it requires too much officiating. And it’s unutterably boring from the stands. All those time outs, and who really knows where the ball is?
Prepared to be flamed, trolled, or chummed.
