I was hoping the headline was a mistake; but it’s not. This is the environment Bush’s administration has created in our country.
The Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting Bush and his family, “routinely” asks for five “identifiers” of people who will be near the president to run through a criminal data base, Mazur said.
The five factors — name, date-of-birth, Social Security number, gender and race — are used to search the database “in a most timely and effective manner,” he said.

They are requesting the information for the guest list at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday. According to interviews in the article, this is the first time they have asked for a guest’s race.
Just when you think they couldn’t be more offensive.
Go figure.
I wonder if he will be on the panel tonight on Bill Maher or via satellite… It should be good.

Since it is the White House press corps, the same people who go into the White House daily and the same ones that attend every presidential press conference (few though they may be) and the correspondents dinners, and who have probably been cleared dozens of times…
To all of a sudden add race to the questionaire seems more like an attempted form of intimidation, or separating out. Just a new way to keep the press in line and off balance, especially with all the bad news coming out, maybe.
nothing this administration does, surprise’s me, not anymore. Their capable of anything, at anytime, and the worst insult is the smile on their face while their doing it….to us.
I would really love 10seconds with the coward SOB in a room where he could have no defense.
