Good morning boys and girls.  Today we discuss the meaning of the word ‘dispute’.  No less an authority than the United States Central Intelligence Agency suggests the following meaning:

This entry includes a wide variety of situations that range from traditional bilateral boundary disputes to unilateral claims of one sort or another. Information regarding disputes over international terrestrial and maritime boundaries has been reviewed by the US Department of State. References to other situations involving borders or frontiers may also be included, such as resource disputes, geopolitical questions, or irredentist issues; however, inclusion does not necessarily constitute official acceptance or recognition by the US Government.

Translation:  We see you.  You’re fighting.  Over water, people, borders, clan, tribe, fashion, and most important, which way the toilet paper comes off the roll.  BUT.  Just because we see you, doesn’t mean our government does.  That’s because they never read our neat book.

This is the World:

I go through this exercise periodically.  About once every three months or so.  The different types of conflicts all over our planet are invisible unless dead people show up in the media.  So I check in to see how many “other” conflicts there are on our little blue planet.  [Answer].  

Why can’t we all just…get along?  Because we’re human.  Two basic flavors:  optimist or pessimist.  Half of us think the glass is half empty; the other half thinks the glass is half full.  

But your viewpoint depends on whether your pourin’ or drinkin’.
