about 4 weeks ago and I waited on line to get through security with Patty Hearst for about 1/2 hour. She was really nice. So friendly. She was traveling alone. I think she liked the fact she had someone to talk to some people wouldn’t bug her. Back in March, I was coming back to LA from Miami and on that flight I waited to go through security with Janet Reno. She was traveling alone and hardly spoke. I tried to get some info out of her but it didn’t work.
Janet Reno has–is it Parkinson’s? So perhaps it’s difficult for her to chat with people. Or, she may be super-cautious after all those years of being vilified in DC.
Yup…she has Parkinsons..she was a little shakey. She was nice but she just wouldn’t speak… it wasn’t like I was trying to talk to her about Wako. or Clinton and Monica. The Heiress on the other hand was a doll.
I took two of the other or none, and call me in the morn’n
Oh, hell, I thought it said pill…ooops ; )
I don’t enjoy any trials, and refuse to watch any of them, especially if they are in California,
History will show that California was best known for sensationalism trials, no fact, just pure media hype.
just trying to divert attention from the circus we call Florida 🙂
the poll? You have her as Patty Heart, not Hearst.

yeah, I can’t edit the poll. It keeps people from playing around with the results. Always spellcheck your polls very carefully, because even Mighty Zeus cannot fix an error.
.
play around? lol

ROTFLMAO….hey don’t blame me, I’m trying to keep the damned place as Democrat as i can ; )
It’s just a great comfort knowing that OJ is out searching for the killer on the golf courses of Florida.
I am so sick of celebrity trials, and the celebrity “commentators” they create. Former Prosecutors judges, and practicing defense attorneys all get on the screen to debate both sides of the case, often with little or no detail and rarely with any integrity.
The media harps on these celebrity trials over and over while our republic is being destroyed by Bush and his puppet masters. The Downing Street Memo (or Minutes, whatever!) may get some actual media attention a couple of weeks after the Jackson verdict is out (don’t hold your breath though!) Of course, by then, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may announce their marriage (or breakup, take your pick), and DSM will be ignored again.
BTW, I have just found BMT through some posts on “that other site”. Great look nice functionality, and SPELLCHECK!!!
Tom Cruise will probably announce that he’s making a biopic of the life of Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, ala Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ”.
He’s been seen scouring garbage cans for Campbell’s soup cans to make the E-Meters… 😉
interested in a weekly diary (probably Sunday nights) where I highlight several diaries that maybe didn’t get a lot of attention but has some good/interesting info? Just wondering.
.
MAN – especially when the diary is a first try!
I personally always try to find those to add some comment – works miracles.

A fantastic idea!
This would be a great contribution, and I second the idea that first diary’s should be included as well.
Thanks
That would be great!! Then I can stop obessing about missing things and finish the damned laundry! 😉
Good idea man and what about having commenters recommending their favorites, and why.
That would also bring attention to good diaries that might have been missed if you were gone for a day or too.
Yeah, Weekly Roundup, cool.
There’s someone at the other site who does “high-impact” diaries…but the good ones that no one sees seem to always be ignored.
It’ll especially be good during the summer when people are out doing real life things and might not be on line as much…
I referred to the Frog Pond Sun Mar 20th, 2005 at 11:13:00 AM CDT in the first comment on sjct’s diary Why are we over here?
Did anyone use it sooner?
Do I win? A good prize would be cookies – but mad mojo is good, too – I think. What exactly is mad mojo? Is it a 4 with a little gold star?
Everyone who is new might want to take a look at this thread — it really gives a great introduction to the site, the “vision(s)” and some of the people here!
Thanks, JS!
wrote “Are we here just so we can splash with the frog in a smaller pond?”
Which almost got us there. You may have put the two words side-by-side for the first time.
the link to the diary itself.
OMFG, I really needed this lung-clearer after the week I had!
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog paid a visit to the Michael Jackson trial and talked with some of Jacko’s supporters. You can probably guess what happened. (9 min 59 sec)

Just … ROTFLMFAO … s’all …
in The Hague!
Let’s see, Chimperator, Rummy, Wolfie, Condi, Powell, Frist, DeLay, oh yeah, Cheney, who else am I forgetting?
this out.
WooYoo!!
you’re moving your way up the Top 10, that’s great news.
WooHoo, indeed! Way to go, BooMan.
On May 9th, Susanhu alerted the BooMan Tribune community to the Top 10 Ignored Stories according to the United Nations. Several members signed up to cover them here, but there are still some of the list that need volunteers. Here’s the link, if you would like to take one of the issues, please reply to this message so Susanhu can see it later.
please reply to this comment, in the World/Open Thread so more people will see it. Thanks.
Oh, how I can’t believe that the mother of all show trials didn’t make the list – the trial of the Chicago 7 after ’68 Dem. National Convention. Judge Hoffman v. Abbie Hoffman. Tying Bobby Seale to a chair and gagging him! The “Right On” chorus of courtroom spectators. Oh yeah, baby, this one’s got it all, and you can find the trial transcript in most used bookstores!
I picked OJ. I honestly thought that white people were going to riot after that trial. People smashin’ in the Gucci store on Rodeo. What a hoot that woulda been.
I even stayed home long enough to hear the verdict. I remember having to be at work and calling saying I was goign to be late because the result would decide if I was going to come in at all. (Maybe in protest?)
There was no traffic on the ten that day. That’s another thing I remember. I guess everyone had the same idea as me. I’m so unoriginal!

UNITED NATIONS, June 12 – A Congressionally mandated panel will report this week that the United Nations suffers from poor management, “dismal” staff morale and lack of accountability and professional ethics[…]
The intro gave me a start, I thought for a moment it was a description of the Bush Administration.
Sometimes I feel all grown up, and then the humor problem raises its ugly head, and I wonder if I’m really in sixth grade. Case in point, on, oddly enough, npr’s Piano Jazz:
Marian McPartland and her singer-guest were talking about Brit upperclass diction, saying it was pretty much a thing of the past except for Marian and the Queen.
The guest said a friend of hers had been to some social function with the Queen and found her wonderfully gracious and warm. When the visitor came to the the Queen in the reception line, part of the dialog went like this:
Queen: And what do you do for a living?
Guest: I’m an interior designer.
Q: Oh, I know a lot of interior designers.
G: And I know a lot of queens.

Does that break up anybody else?
I haven’t brushed my teeth since…
