My apologies if this was already covered, but a bill has been put forth to repeal the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution (that would be the one limiting Presidential Terms).

Pretty frightening, eh? As of a couple months ago, I started thinking that they might try to pull something like that.
Of course, it makes me shed a tear of pure joy when I think about the chance of Slick Willie coming back to destroy GWB in the 2008 election, but I still think term limits are a good idea. At least until we can have verifiable voting results.
I don’t think he’s up for another election.
See, around election time Barbara Bush said this would be the families last presidential election. I took that to mean they would be doing away with elections, so I guess this is a good thing.
Seriously. I don’t think it has a prayers chance in hell of passing.
Yah, I don’t think he’s up for it either. But a man can dream, can’t he?
I’d campaign for FDR’s old decaying bones if it meant getting Bush out of the White House.
But I agree, I don’t think it has any chance whatsoever of getting through.
comment that it won’t get passed. There are a lot of wingnuts in state legislatures. The scariest part for me is if they can get enough wingnuts together to call a Constitutional Convention. Then they could modify the Constitution as much as they want, you know like inserting Christian Nation, eliminating the Bill of Rights, making GW king, all the most horrible things that the founding fathers sought to prevent. Then again, I could just be paranoid, even if they are out to get me.
Well, they would need two thirds in both the House and the Senate. I really don’t think they have it, but given that I wonder why they would even put the bill forward. I don’t see what they have to gain.
I wouldn’t put anything past this administration. Nothing. Nada. Things just aren’t right. I know several people who voted for W merely because we were in the middle of a war, and you’re not supposed to change presidents in the middle of a war you know. (As she lets out a primal scream) Yeah. Sure. The war W and his pals created, and used in an opportunistic manner during the 2002 and 2004 elections. Yeah. That war.
This reminds me of the little scam they were attempting to pull to postpone the 2004 elections because of the terror alert level at that time. (Whatever color or threat they dreamed up for that particular moment)
How many of you know that there is a movement afoot that wants to change the requirement of being a citizen born in the USA to become president, to allow naturalized citizens to become President. Arhhhhhhhhhhhnold comes to mind, though the reichwing keeps bringing up the Governor of Mich, as another Example, she is Canadian, naturalize US.
