A candidate for the N.C. Supreme Court “has announced … she is leaving the Republican Party and denounced the Bush administration’s policy on troop withdrawal from Iraq,” reports the Lincoln Tribune, Lincoln, N.C., sent to me by my pal Susan T. I’ve had trouble opening the newspaper site … wonder why! (I see that Raw Story has this now.)
Rachel Lea Hunter, a Republican … likens Bush’s administration to the “Nazis” and says that all who disagree with the administration are being branded as “traitors”.
It’s not a complete conversion for Ms. Hunter, a native of Pennsylvania. From her campaign site:
There needs to be assurance that what has happened in other states with activist judges does not occur in North Carolina. We do not need a repeat of Massachusetts in our great state. …
waiting for the tearful apology 🙂
She’ll be stepping down to “Spend More Time With the Family”?
actually, I may even giggle a bit. AAAAAhhhhh, that felt good.
It’s about time somebody mentioned the fact that you can be just and righteous and conservative and still see these schmucks for the radical vindictive pricks they are. In fact, if you’re going to be just and righteous, you pretty much have to.
Your party has been hijacked. Make some noise about it. Good on ‘ya.
Or, it could just be the first rat off the boat. Either way, it makes me smile.
