so much so that I just diaried about it. Obviously, I can’t compete with the main page, but if you want the main points concerning the blogosphere (and my commentary on same), come on by.
very much like our President should! What a refreshing change from:
“…uhhh, Freedom is on the march…”
“..we’re winning the war on terra…”
“..we’re turning the corner…”
Oh, and Kerry just bitch slaped Halliburton too!
This is what a President should sound like and he’s putting forward ideas the other guy should have put forward all along!
It is evident that the WSJ is trying to get in on the reporting of the DSM, since they have ignored them this long. It is such a shame that our MSM is doing such a bad job of doing this. I know,,,,I know,,,,,they are part of the story…they are complicit in the murders of many ppl and this is what the shame in all of this is about.
I’m feeling ambivalent over tonight’s upcoming speech by Shrub. We know he will not take responsibility for anything wrong regarding Iraq or Afghanistan, but how much spin can he put on this train wreck?
More and more of America is fed up with the war and lack of exit strategy. Anyone else feeling this way?
God, I’m so sick of this Asshat I don’t know if I can watch his lying lips move anymore……..sigh
maggiemae – I’ve been looking for you! Wanted to thank you for your music direct.com website tip! I ordered 3 CD’s (tripping back thru the 60’s-70’s – Jefferson Airplane,Cream, Laura Nyro – egads). Sorry Shrub seems to be really getting you down tonight and you “…Feel Like Homemade S**t”. I barely watched since, by now I always know what he’s going to say – like a programed monkey – “terrarists”, evildoers,”we gotta show ’em dahmocracy an freedom”, blah, blah, blah – as if he has any real understanding of democratic concepts – really what’s the point. We’re just waiting for the others to wake up, eh?
It looks like we’ve come upon a whole new intersection where the print media just can’t compete, since there’s NO conversation with their subscribers (to speak of) and NO platform on which to build an activist movement on such an enormous scale with such limited resources.
BTW – Nice try, comparing DSM activism to the Swift Boat Liars! They must have really had to stretch for that twisted spin.
I agree with the kudos, but I have a slightly different take. I think the print media outlets do respond to input from their readers, or this campaign would not have worked. After all, what the article is saying is not that the blogosphere itself has promoted the DSM information directly (which it has, but that is not really groundbreaking) but that it has been able to influence the MSM to do so. Basically, the blogospheric left has succeeded in the kind of arena that has in the past more typically been the province of right wing finger-waggers like the Parents’ Television Council.
TPMCafe’s staleync is critical of John Kerry‘s op-ed in today’s NYT … “his New York Times Op/Ed piece shows many of the reasons why he is not our President today.”
Look, as a veteran, I looked into Kerrys record and saw a man in his early years, being very good; however, the longer he stayed in the senate, I saw him become less involved in the thoughts of the common man. I saw his interviews at the Citadel with C. Matthews early on right before the war. I knew right then I did not want him as my president. I however, once he got the nomination, I voted for him simply cuz I was a ABB person and I did want the WH back in the democratic hands. I even went so far as to give money to his campaign. Which was money I really did not have to give..but I did and then for him on the morning after to do what he did was just breathtaking IMO and I was so angry at him for doing this. He let us all down without a fight..not even giving the ppl time to digest what had happened and then to find out all the fraud that went down ….well it is just terrible IMO, so without saying anymore, I think Kerry needs to just try to keep his mouth shut for once…and let things just happen.
I couldn’t disagree with you more. I had the opportunity to listen to his speech on the floor of the senate today live. part of it was included in the NYT op/ed piece today. I think John Kerry did the best that he could under the circumstancesat that time. I too was very disappointed Nov 3, 2004 but kerry has never waivered in his duties as a senator since that day. He spoke very eloquently today and was really taking Bush to the mat. He was very Presidential.IMHO
is it just me reading too much into it, or is the MSM dragging its heels on announcing that all 16 U.S. soldiers on board the Chinook helicopter have died in Afghanistan?
Raw Story has the # of dead. But most of the stories I’ve seen say that the # of injured/dead is unknown.
” A large U.S. military helicopter crashed Tuesday afternoon while carrying at least 16 American troops to reinforce a counterterrorism mission in eastern Afghanistan, U.S. officials confirmed. The fate of those on board was not immediately known, and the area of the crash was rugged and hilly.”
Sounds like no one can confirm the number of dead and injured due to the terrain where the crash occured.
Hooray for our side, thanks Booman for giving me a voice in the revolution to take our country back from the criminals who destroying her.
are destroying her.
I need to make sure I proof read before clicking on post.
And just why should you proof before posting when the rest of us can’t seem to remember either? LOL

Go John Kerry!
What a great story – and with ‘familiar’ characters! Follow one of the links and read it.

you can truly change the world!

RIGHT NOW! John Kerry calling on president to get it right now.
I KNEW I wanted to go home for a reason!

music lover. You ordered some good music. Music Direct is a pretty cool site, huh?
I’ll give Shrub this…he’s consistent. That’s the only thing I’ve got….he’s consistent.
The guy wants to buy time for he and his cronies to make a few more million before leaving Iraq, and he played the 9/11 card over and over tonight.
Curly, I hope the rest of American has just been asleep, and not in a permanent deep coma.
It just goes to show that yes, we can make a difference. I’m so proud of the DSM.com folks I could burst.

I was mainly responding to BooMan’s observation that we are making a difference. 🙂
