Wes Clark’s newsletter from his WesPAC is titled, “Stop Blaming the Troops — Investigate the Real Culprits of Abuse.”
That’s really it, isn’t it. The administration never fails to blame low-level soldiers — or civil servants — for any problem, disavowing all responsibility.
The time has come to investigate the Bush Administration’s role in the prisoner abuse and humiliation that has motivated our enemies in the war on terror and endangers the well-being of our fighting forces.
You can sign Clark’s Stop Blaming The Troops petition to Sen. John Warner to hold hearings. (The petition doesn’t specify the committee. It is the Armed Services committee, which Warner chairs. He is also on the Intelligence and Homeland Security committees.)

That is a GREAT talking point. Wesley Clark is soooo HOT! I hope that doesn’t sound degrading but he is so smart and so good looking. I would love to see him be President not just because he would make a great president but I would love to see his face splattered all over the newspapers, magazines, television. He is so pleasing to the eye.
Oh yes, the Prisoner Abuse. Sorry, my mind went in a different direction there for a minute. I am glad to see Wesley addressing this.
OMG. You sound just like my ‘net girlfriends. “Ohhhhh… he’s so dreamy.” (I’m laughing. I don’t get that reaction when i see him but think he’s an okay person.)
How’s his gig at FOX going? I haven’t watched.
I don’t know. Believe it or not, I have never seen Fox except I have the DVD “Outfoxed”. We don’t have it here in Germany, thank god.
My friend went to the 2004 DNC convention and came back with a picture of her and Clark together. I was so jealous. I told her that she must get me into the next convention. I should write him and see if he will visit our Democrats Abroad group in Munich if he travels to Europe. We also have an informal get together of American woman and we have dinner once a month and drink beer and talk about how cute Wesley Clark is amongst other things.
He IS soooo dreamy!!!!!
The net girlfriend!
I confessed how much I love Andy Garcia’s hairline on one of Catnip’s diaries and thankfully it got eaten or dumped or something. I married a guy with that wing on the side of his head hairline and his nugget is kind of square….kind of like Andy’s and Oh My God it is an awful lot like Wes Clark’s and they have the same haircut……..SWOON! Isn’t that just sick? God I hope I’m not voting for the guy because of his hair!
Signed, written, sent and passed on.
I had called Clark’s campaign hq to give support. Sadly the next day he opted out of the race.
Clark has his own uniform… unlike Bush who had to borrow one for propaganda photo ops.
I also signed the FCC petition. …….

I love it! I love it! I love it! Signed petition. Does anyone know if CSPAN will cover Conyers floor speech tonight?
Tell me more … i suppose it’s in Catnip’s diary which I haven’t read yet.
Can you call CSPAN and ask them? What time is his speech scheduled?
Susan all that info is on Catnip’s diary.
That’s WHAT I SAID! 🙂
I finally read it + I sent Catnip’s URL to all my ‘net buddies.
is calling for a real investigation to uncover and hold accountable those creatures responsible for the systemic torture procedures implemented at the various detention facilities run by the Pentagon.
We need to call for these investigations, of course, but lets be clear. No such investigation will ever succeed in holding any high ranking Bush regime official responsible, and no one up-rank will be prosecuted.
No other investigation or committee looking into Bush regime malfeasance has yet succeeded in calling to task anyone of importance in this regime. The repubs control all the forums and mechanisms within which such inquiries might take place, and even the most principled republican member is going to find it an impossible task to challenge this regime effectively without having a majority of fellow repubs on his side.
So Clark’s call for an investigation is good, but it’s utility to the Dems will be based only on our ability to point out that no such investigation has taken or will take place, and that in the end, no one will be held accountable. It’s only by repeating a mantra about the Bush gang placing themselves above the law that we’ll be able to get mileage out of such efforts.
