Crossposted from Dameocrat Blog This is what Cooper wrote about what he said to the Grand Jury according to Time as relayed by Yahoo News This is very disquieting indeed!
“Rove was first source on CIA agent – Time reporter – Yahoo! News: “So did Rove leak Plame’s name to me, or tell me she was covert? No. Was it through my conversation with Rove that I learned for the first time that Wilson’s wife worked at the CIA and may have been responsible for sending him? Yes. Did Rove say that she worked at the ‘agency’ on ‘WMD’? Yes,‘ Cooper wrote in Time’s current edition.
‘When he said things would be declassified soon, was that itself impermissible? I don’t know. Is any of this a crime? Beats me,’ Cooper wrote.
He also wrote that he was not certain what Rove meant by commenting he had already said too much.“
Ok, I think Rove has had it now! I can’t see anyway around this.
Wanna bet this was prompted by Rove trying to smear Cooper earlier in the week?
WHat did Rove say about Cooper? I missed that.
There was a whole series of GOP shills saying Cooper burned Rove, that Cooper tried to be sneaky by talking about Welfare Reform for most of the call and then trying to blindside Rove with questions about Wilson and Plame at the last minute, etc.
If I was Cooper I would have been furious with the way Rove tried to orchestrate an attack against Cooper’s veracity by getting in the first shot so to speak.
OK gotcha, thanks.
I did catch wind of some of that, but it didn’t register because I guess I missed most of that particular smear. With all of the White House spinning and smearing, it’s hard to keep track of who got the last glob of Rove-spittle hurled at them.
and please recommend this. I think it is important.
“I may have told you too much.”
Rove knew he was playing a dangerous gambit by leaking the fact that Plame was a CIA agent. But his bloodthirsty desire for revenge got the better of his knowledge that what he was about to do was illegal.
