ROME (Reuters) – The fourth man suspected of trying to detonate bombs on London’s transport network on July 21 has been arrested in Rome, Italy’s interior minister. Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu said in a statement that the suspect was a naturalised Briton of Somali origin named Osman Hussain.
A municipal source said Hussain was arrested at a relative’s residence in Rome. Italy’s ANSA news service said Hussain was 27 years old and fled to Italy after the failed London bombings. ANSA added that Hussain was the suspect in an incident on the underground rail network in west London
Two more of the failed London bombing suspects are believed to have been arrested, as police carried out a number of armed operations in west London. They were thought to be the men wanted for the Oval Tube and No 26 bus attacks of 21 July, said a BBC correspondent.

Police moved residents to safety during two raids, in Notting Hill and north Kensington, and made three arrests.
Officers also arrested two women at Liverpool Street station, which has reopened after packages were examined.
BBC News Armed police investigating the 21 July attempted bombings have made a number of arrests and surrounded flats in west London in “significant” operations.
At least two properties are believed to have been raided, in Notting Hill and North Kensington, and residents moved.
Eyewitnesses say they heard three shots and a large explosion as officers wearing gas masks entered one property.
Police seeking three men over the failed bomb attacks have also made two arrests at Liverpool Street station.
LONDON – Heavily armed police wearing gas masks and reportedly using stun grenades raided a west London apartment block Friday, seeking suspects in the failed July 21 transit bombings, and British media reported at least one arrest.
Britain’s Press Association reported that police have made a number of arrests in the operation being carried out in at least two locations in Notting Hill about a quarter-mile apart.
Police went door to door in the chic neighborhood, famous for its weekend street market, and told people to evacuate.
“I heard six loud bangs, which I found out from a policeman were stun grenades I believe, and then I heard two shots,” witness Patrick Ball said. “The noise that I heard was an extremely loud bang.”
Police confirmed that “an armed operation is currently in progress” but said it was in the “very early stages.” The area is near west London’s Little Wormwood Scrubs park, where police on Saturday found a fifth bomb in a dark backpack.
Two small explosions in the area could be heard on video broadcast by Sky News. Helicopters buzzed overhead and police cordoned off a number of streets, and said one person had been arrested. A female witness told CNN she saw several people being taken into custody.
Witnesses also reported seeing heavily armed police, some wearing gas masks and others in forensic bodysuits. Some officers were seen wearing ski masks.

I also heard them say that for a time, the police asked the media to give no coverage to the story, and then to be careful what they report.
The police conducted a covert removal of residents … the “shots” heard may have been the police explosive charges to get in.

TV networks had to abandon their Satellite vans when the Met Police extended the perimeter of the no-go zone. That’s why some direct TV links where halted.
The early TV shots were direct on the houses being under siege. Not handy when the arrests still have to be made.
More concern about the shut-down of Liverpool St. Station after two reported arrests. Complete evacuation including some nearby office buildings and persons to stay clear of all windows.

I heard it was a controlled explosion, but that’s not quite official. They have been discussing the UK’s extensive surveillance camera system, especially in London and how that system gave them a damn good start in their investigation. That’s one thing I don’t have a problem with… in outdoor public places.
