Bush has divided America down to the core. Friends and family who disagree about Bush and Iraq know the personal pain of this rift. I see it in my family to some degree. Talking about politics and religion is becoming dangerous.
Slaying in dispute over war might be a first
EASTERN KENTUCKY BUREAU
PRESTONSBURG – The Iraq war has been a divisive issue in America for more than two years now, but a shooting at an Eastern Kentucky flea market this week might have marked the first time a dispute over the war has resulted in a death.
A quarrel between two firearms vendors at a Floyd County flea market on Thursday allegedly led both men — described as “good friends” — to draw guns. Douglas Moore, 65, of Martin, who supports the war, shot and killed Harold Wayne Smith, 56, of Manchester, who opposed it, investigators said.
This is very disturbing to me. My spouse ridicules me over my concern about the politics of the day and we’ve had many arguments about many issues. He’d rather watch tv and stay in his dumbed down bliss state while I want to save the world. Thank god we don’t own any guns.
A No Win situation for most of us I dare say.
This really is a horror story Rosee. One must ask why those men thought it necessary to put guns in their pockets before going to market. Don’t despair, we need people like you and your spouse who can teach the rest of us how to live together without using guns.
It was not Iraq they were disputing, it was what has been thrust upon us.
If people don’t wake up, there will be more.
