A lone burst of lightening
explodes above the heated plain
deep in the searing heart of Texas
Bedazzled fireflies flitter to the rescue
Their wavering merriment quells our fear
Mosquitos swarm near camp
They strike with bold imprecision
They leave fresh wounds which will not scar
Soon they will be forgotten in winter
All they possess is our blood
our childrens blood
and a cursed future
in the lake
of fire
Are you at Camp Casey?
Metaphysically to this point.
I plan on being there physically Weds-Thurs this week.
I have business in San Antonio early part of week and then heading toward Dallas Weds by car, traveling thru Waco in the process.
How close to camp can you get by car? I can buy and bring in some supplies if someone will let me know what they need by Tuesday night….
