With management (Dem in Knoxville) out of town this Friday night, we’re going to throw a raucous roof-blowin’ monster jam in the usually serene Jazz Cafe. So put on your best concert T-shirt, cuz we’re moving the tables to the side. Get ready for some hard-rockin’ ear-splittin’ headbangin’ action!
Those who want to mosh, the front of the room is yours, and don’t forget to pick up your plastic cup of beer on the way…no glass bottles allowed! Those who prefer quieter conversations or a more refined drink, the bar in the back is open for business and is fully stocked for your pleasure.
Feel free to bang your head to the British instigators like Black Sabbath and Motorhead or the American pioneers like Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. If you’d prefer, rock out with the softer hard arena rockers like AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, or Van Halen. Of course, if you want to get REALLY hardcore with some Opeth or Iced Earth, this is the place for you too!
So ditch your inhibitions at the door, let that heavy double-bass drum whip you into a frenzy. Playing air guitar is not only encouraged, but required. And remember, our Mojo may only go to 4, but our attitudes go to 11!
Despite all outward appearances, I know many of you probably aren’t huge heavy metal fans. You probably wonder how anyone can tolerate all that noise.
Have you ever listened to a song, maybe Bob Dylan, maybe Jimi, maybe Janis, and as they’re singing those words, you start to think; you start to think…yeah…YEAH…F*CK YEAH!!
That’s what metal can be, when done properly, except your whole body starts saying ‘F*CK YEAH!’. You’re listening, then you start tapping your foot, then you start moving your head a little bit, and then all of a sudden you’re just rocking out to the raw power of the music.
A lot of people don’t realize that a lot of Metal is very political as well. One of my all time favorites in particular, Megadeth, cover just about every topic you could think of, from endangered species, to religious wars of aggression, nuclear war, and yes even the lies and deceit of a certain son-of-a-President President.
Hey, you gotta be at least a little angry, or at the least morose, to write a good metal song. What better source could there be for that kind of angst?
Anyway, welcome everyone to the first ever Metal Mosh Pit! Let the mojo flow, and if you’re new, give a shout out!
I don’t know why. I’m the most sensitive, liberal, family man you could meet. But once in a while I get home before anyone else, and I just love that wide-eyed look I get from the rest of the family as I turn Avenged Sevenfold down to sub-jetplane levels:
“Dad, we could SEE you jumping up and down through the window.”
But a bunch of young men getting drunk and slamming into each other is a highly preferable substitute to other testosterone-fueled activities.
Any metal…um…chicks out there? What kind of beer is this?
I know where you’re coming from. I think it’s healthy to just get charged up every once in a while. I’m the most polite, easygoing person you could ever hope to meet.
But once in a while (ok…often) I’ve got to crank up the stereo and just go nuts π
And the best part of hitting a mosh pit, is that everyone knows it’s just fun. It’s strange. You get some kind of weird bond with other people.
“Dad, we could SEE you jumping up and down through the window.”
That is too funny!!!! π Rock On, Dad!
To straighten out the wounded Tracy after another day of life in Bushworld.
He certainly does have us on a ‘Highway to Hell’, doesn’t he?
Ministry has some incredible anti-Bush stuff π
I have a habit of going totally nuts in the house (when no one else is around) and totally hashing out the crap chores while listening to … don’t laugh… Rob Zombie and Lunatic Asylum.
Have never moshed but one sorta developed at a Rev. Horton Heat concert at the SMALL Mystic in Petaluma. Dude in front of me had spiked leathers on and I had itty bruises all up the front of my legs LOL.
But I ended up getting hugged TWICE from the bassist Jimbo when they came out for an encore. We he came and then when he left. I was all, but I’m the OLDEST one here LOL Why’s he ssweating on this old chick?
And AC/DC?… Love them.
But… I am in my true element when digging on the blues. Fuck Yeah! π
But… I also like Pachebel done on a Spanish guitar π (I’m strange, what can I say)
I knew you were a rocker π
Rob Zombie’s great. Some of his early stuff with White Zombie is incredible, but he’s really come into his own with his solo work.
Pachelbel is one of my favorites too. I’m actually kinda pissed that Canon in D is such a popular wedding song, because too many people take it for granted.
Have you ever listened to Paco de Lucia? He’s a Spanish flamenco guitarist, and one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever heard.
Me too!!! I love listening to Canon in D. Cranked or mellow mode. Give Struntz & Farah a listen. π Great guitar work.
I’ve heard the name a few times. I’ll have to go check it out now for sure – Thanks π
My tastes in music can’t ever be labeled. They go from one extreme to the other. Just I can’t listen to gangsta rap or Country… ACK. I’ve tried but it’s a no go with me.
but only old school stuff…2Pac, Dr. Dre, etc. I’ve actually considered diarying (diaring?) 2Pac here. He’s got some great lyrics, especially regarding abortion and societal responsibility.
Country hurts my soul. Except old folk-country like Johnny Cash.
I can’t really describe my taste in music either. My friends look at me weird when I tell them that I have a mix CD with Enya, Warren G, Megadeth, Opeth, and Bad English. I keep trying to tell them that they’re missing out…
I’ll definitely look into Struntz & Farah. Thanks for the tip!
In the movie Blues Brothers they drive up toa C&W good ole boy type bar and they ask what kind of music they have there and the bartender/owner lady says
Oh we’ve got both kids. Country AND Western.
Cracks me up every time.
I’ll take a look at the diary when you do it. I don’t know much about Tupac except for a bit about his murder and never got to see his lyrics. Thanks for the opportunity.
Gotta run. Ciaoster!
Let the Midnight Special shine it’s ever-loving light on youuuuuuuuuuuuu – LeadBelly (folk/blues)
Which actually was about a train that could be seen from a prison and the inmates knew that it meant two things – how’d they haul your dead body out or if you were lucky enough to get a pardon – it was how they would transport you to freedom.
Midnight Special is actually a song about HOPE OF FREEDOM
(before freedom became such an Bushy term)
π xoxox
that if they’re going to keep preaching about ‘freedom’, we need to do a better job of offering hope.
At least we still have the freedom to hope π
Hi ejmw, I missed the big party last night, cuz I’m freakin over Hurricane Katrina. I’m 150 miles inland, but it looks It’ll still be a Cat 1 ‘cane when it gets here! (Jackson,MS).
Anyhow, I am a big Paco fan , too. I got turned on to him through “Saturday Night in San Francisco” which was his first joint appearance with Al DiMeola and John McLaughlin. If you haven’t heard that album I strongly suggest it, as it is a bona-fide classic. No Pacehelbel’s Canon on there though, just rip-snortin acoustic tear-ass jazz/rock/flamenco…
What’s that little place in Petaluma where Jack and Jorma from Hot Tuna used to play? I can remember everything about it like it was yesterday, except what is was called…
Mcnears Restaurant & Mystic Theatre
23 Petaluma Blvd N
That be the place π
I”m not sure CabinGirl, it’s right next to a bar/brewery.
It’s an old theatre. Lots of people play there.
Also, I had bruises in places I didn’t think could bruise. My hockey friend invited us and she is an EMT/firefighter… gawd could she party! She wore me out. Our husbands had their handsfull. 5 mai tais and I sang in the car the entire hour ride home with my husband LOL One of those rare times I got to let loose and lose my mind.
I woke up in my bed, fully clothed with my purse still in my hands.
Love, love, LOVE Ministry, in spite of the fact that I’m fairly certain Al Jourgensen is evil. I saw them years ago at the Roseland. The Young Gods opened. God, what a show. Rob Zombie is awesome, but I really fell for him when it was White Zombie. “Thunderkiss ’65” — now that was a great track. I actually heard it on the radio — once — and the DJ said, “I’d marry that song if I could.” And I thought, yeah. Definitely.
God, remember when music was… good? Remember when new bands came on the scene and they sounded like new bands, instead of imitators of bands from 20 and 30 years ago? Remember that? Good times. Good times. I’m nostalgic for music.
are still out there. You just have to look harder now.
In the same way that the blogs are starting to wrench power away from the big political machines, the spread of music on the internet is starting to wrench control of what you hear away from the record companies.
It’s a topic that will be worth a diary in the near future, I think.
I’ve heard tell of this. If I was still spending my time in clubs and coffee houses, I’d probably find something that really pumps my nads, but it’s been a while. Now, I spend my days with a toddler teaching her the wonders of the Sisters of Mercy — no really, she loves them. I just can’t believe what a desert radio has become, and the club scene is so dead, anyway. Oh… god… don’t get me on this rant. I think everyone who knows me is sick of hearing it. I have actually heard good new stuff, I just haven’t heard a good new “sound” in quite some time.
but if you like hard stuff with a new sound, check out Opeth. I won’t lie, it’s pretty hardcore and heavy, but their lead guy is probably the best songwriter I’ve heard in the last 10 years, and as far as musicianship, you won’t find many better.
Dun dun…dundundun…da da dun.
That’s me singing along to the guitar part in Black Sabbath’s Sweet Leaf. Yeah! Next up: Prison Song by System of a Down, then something for the kids by Slipknot, maybe We’re Gonna Groove by Zep for the silverhairs, and then bringing it home with pretty much anything by Metallica.
Sweet party, dude.
You’ve got good taste π
I have to admit that System of a Down is pretty hit or miss with me. I listen to their albums and I think half the songs are brilliant and the other half…well, they’re not.
Currently on my playlist is Opeth. Lots, and lots, of Opeth (getting ready for the new album on Tuesday!).
Oh yeah, where are my manners…have a beer (cans and cups only, of course)!
SoaD is my favorite band of the last ten years, with no one else even close. I love Zappa a lot, too, and I hear a lot of that in System.
I don’t know Opeth (hangs head in shame), but I feel a visit to the iTunes store coming. I wouldn’t know jack about music today if it weren’t for my weightlifting buddy (who just returned from a summer playing the Warped Tour with Offspring and others).
Newer metal (not necessarily nu-metal) bands I dig: Thrice, Avenged Sevenfold.
Definitely check out Opeth. Their album “Blackwater Park” is one of the best albums I’ve ever bought. They’re not very mainstream, so not many have heard of them.
They craft these long (usually 10-15 minute) compositions, that go from the heaviest, lowest death metal growls and crunching power chords to the most beautiful, melodic interludes. And unlike most “Death metal growl” groups, the dude can plain sing. When he’s not growling, of course.
It’s seriously what Metallica wishes they could be (and I love Metallica).
I haven’t listened to Thrice, but I’ve heard a little of Avenged Sevenfold. They’re awesome!
They’re not very mainstream, so not many have heard of them.
Sounds perfect. I’ll give them a listen, thanks!
Awesome! Let me know what you think. 90% of my friends that I play them for think they’re incredible, but some just can’t get past the parts where he does the ‘death metal growl’ kind of vocals.
I’m listening to samples of Opeth’s Blackwater Park and I’m liking it big time.
Hey, here’s another up-and-comer that is ridiculously good: Rose Hill Drive. Buncha hippies from my neighborhood in Boulder, CO who could play every note on <u>Physical Graffiti</u> without even sweating at age 15.
They’re definitely Zeppelin-influenced and have a groovy sound with amazing guitar work. We’ve all been waiting for their major label CD, but they keep refusing contracts. You might be able to find one of their concerts on bittorrent, which I would highly recommend, or you can browse RoseHillDrive.com.
Awesome, glad you like them…I’ve probably listened to Blackwater Park a couple hundred times, and I still can’t get enough π
I’m grabbing a Rose Hill Drive show via bittorrent now…probably won’t be done for a few hours at least. But I am listening to Cool Cody from their website now…they’ve got a great guitar sound! I love that greasy southern fried kinda distortion that they’ve got going.
They’re real old school purists like Lenny Kravitz. Tube amps and classic strats and all that.
I wish they had more downloads–that Rhapsody service is terrible. The video they link to is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while. “Tommy Seebach, the King of Danish Pop,” is that for real?
Yes, it is apparently real. Here’s All Music’s story on him (I can’t guarantee that link will work).
To me that video looks like Monty Python meets the Bee Gees…
emjw, I bought Blackwater Park and it is excellent. Classic hard metal with a great sound, excellent vocals, and creative ideas. There are a couple tracks where I wish he’d use less growl, more singing, but that’s about my only knock. Well worth it.
I went down to Colorado Springs–the “bowels of the beast” as we call it–for Saturday’s State Democratic Party summit and central committee meeting, so I got to crank Opeth for hours and hours on the freeway. We passed a Progressive Initiative within the Party as the last order of business, which I think is great. Left on a good note, then started blasting Opeth in the Prius all the way home to my loving family.
Again, thanks for the recommendation, and I hope the Friday Night Mosh Pit isn’t a one-time thing. I like all kinds of music, but that was a particularly fun thread.
I hope you’ll allow me to make a grand entrance.
<grabs a cup and makes way to the front of the stage by the speakers on the left>
My tricked out El Camino bows down in shame before your superior wheels.
Anybody got any weed? No? It’d be a whole lot cooler if you did.
(Apologies to Linklater’s Dazed and Confused, I’m still suing him for the unauthorized biography of me.)
I think there are some Motley Crue fans in the front with some, and they’re sharing all around!
Okay, why does it look like I’ve stumbled into Wayne’s World here? Where are the rest of the metal chicks for me to hang out and giggle with over by the keg?
Party on, Garth!
errrr, CabinGirl π
I’m sure that the other metal chicks will be here soon…who can resist the temptation of keg beer?
So what’s on your rockin’ playlist, Cabingirl?
this could turn out to be a killer party, as long as kansas doesn’t try to steal the keg-tap like she did at mine at Sven’s toga party from a few weeks ago π
That Kansas is wild!
My reputation precedes me! It probably also exceeds me, but what the hey.
<Eye on keg tap. Waiting for opportunity.>
Not yet anyway…some of us still need that tap π
Tonight’s a Cracker kind of night…you, know, Eurotrash Girl…I have a secret crush on David Lowery…
It’s not a secret anymore π
I’ve always loved Cracker (well, since I first heard of them, anyway). “Low” really struck a chord with me when they released it, and I’ve been listening to them ever since.
You’re not the only with that crush.
My wife was quite the rock and roll fan not long ago. She and David were best friends whenever Cracker was in town. She said he was quite nice, as rock stars go, and would actually call her the next day from the road.
Ok, end confessional. She’ll kill me if she sees this, but she probably doesn’t know my screen name anyway.
[Runs off toward the keg]
Your wife sounds so cool! Wish she was here hangin’ by the keg with me…we could trade stories…
She’s cool enough that I confessed I told her story here, and she didn’t get mad. She just said, “You should note that he was in Camper Van back then, not Cracker. And he wasn’t all that nice.”
Yeah, I think everyone’s Dave Lowery crushes date back to the CVB days. I know mine does!
Do ya’ll have CDs?? My tapes of Cracker are OLD and worn, and since we are in the midst of filing bakruptcy, I don’t think I should go out and buy a bunch of CDs…
When Iw as in Japan I listened to their self-titled almost every day…
I see the light at the end of the tunnel now
Someone please tell me its not a train
Who has “Kerosense Hat”? Their self-titled album/CD? I’ll happily reimburse anyone for balnk tapes, or better yet, if you can burn CDs, blank CDs…..oh, wait, that’s illegal, isn’t it?
Never mind.
Get off this, get on with it
If you want to cahnge the world
Shut your mouth and start this minute
I do so love those guys! π
Hey brinnainne!
Glad you made it through that first week of bankruptcy filings…is it getting easier to come to grips with? I hope you’ll continue to keep us all posted on that stuff, even though I know it is tough to lay personal stories like that out for everyone to read.
With regards to Cracker, send me an email (address below) and I’ll see what I can do for ya π
I started my second installment this morning when I was called to my mission at the airport! π
I’ll get some more done on it this weekend, if I have time in between creating a DETAILED inventory of our household goods, yikes! And, yeah, thanks for asking, it has gotten easier to deal with, that first step is always the hardest (at least I hope that turns out to be true!)
I’ll shoot you an email in a bit!
Awesome diary ejmw. Nice to see such eclectic musical tastes represented here at BT.
I confess I was a metal chick … in my youth, ;^) and, um … still appreciate lettin’ loose every now and then with the wall shaking, bass rumblin, sweet riffs, and screaming lyrics.
The first music I learned to play: Deep Purple (who doesn’t though, right?), Metallica, Nazareth, Led Zep, Pink Floyd …
I remember sitting around bonfires at the lake, guitars in hand, belting out Joplin at the top of our lungs…
And the solos! Oh… There’s nothing like a guitar solo that sings like any voice could hope to, and carries enough emotion to send shivers down the spine. (Jimi comes to mind, but Comfortably Numb makes me teary every time.)
Hmmm … think I might take my ear down memory lane tonight.
I think our musical tastes are nearly identical! Dave Gilmour inspired me to first pick up the guitar about 7 years ago (though the first things I learned were Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana π
My sophomore year in college (~1998), my roomate and I watched the Pink Floyd ‘Pulse’ video so many times that I had to buy a new one because we wore it out. Did you see that they played at the G8 concert a few weeks back? They’re still fantastic. Comfortably Numb is one of the greatest of all time, but Coming Back to Life from Division Bell got me through many a difficult time, and still makes me tear up when I listen to it.
The David Gilmour show at the Tower Theater in the 80s was one of my favorite shows!
David Gilmour is my personal hero.
He is such an amazing guitar player. And I love his approach…some guys, when they play their solos, jump out to the front of the stage, light their guitars on fire (no offense intended, Jimi), and whatnot…but Gilmour just plays it, and lets the guitar do the talking.
Totally agree with ya ejmw… Gilmour can make it SING. And it’s not flashy visually … but man, in his hands it’s like another voice.
I saw Pink Floyd at RFK stadium in Washington in 88 with my wife. Best concert ever :o)
My all time favorite guitar solos are:
#1 Lenny by Stevie Ray Vaughn and,
#2 Hitch a Ride by Boston
Back in the day my brother and I had a garage band together. Him, lead guitar, and me drums and I just know the neighbors got sick of hearing Smoke on the Water and Free Bird over and over and over :o)
Forward to 05 and my favorite band right now is Incubus thanks to my son Justin for that! I love the old Soundgarden and the new Audioslave stuff too.
Another coupla great selections… Boston definitely had their own style going on. And definitely had great solo work.
Your tale of the garage band and Smoke on the Water makes me laugh… It’s so familiar, just thinking about those three chords makes me groan and laugh at the same time!
Here I am and ready to play some pool, you do have pool tables here, right?
We sure do have pool tables here! Just make sure you don’t try to take the cue sticks into the mosh pit, they don’t take too kindly to folks with weapons π
Oh suh, I promise I will not do that, matter of fact I don’t think I will be joining the mosh pit at all, I will just stick to kicking Ass in pool.
I had Black Sabbath cranked in the car — it seemed appropriate to be listening to Heaven and Hell …
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It’s heaven and hell
They’ll tell you black is really white
the moon is just the sun at night…
I love Black Sabbath with Ozzy and with Ronnie James Dio — love Rainbow too, Deep Purple, Judas Preist…ah, it’s all coming back to me now, leather pants and all (I still have them, though now I would be lucky to fit one leg into the waist – heh.)
Saw Judas Preist in ’85(?) in the 12 row — ears ringing for DAYS! Good times.
Breakin’ the law, breakin’ the law!
Judas Priest has turned into one of my favorite exclamations…used whenever one would normally invoke a “Jesus CHRIST!!”.
I’m pretty much atheistic, but it offends less people if you take a bands’ name in vain (vein?) than their savior’s.
The summer between high school and college, 3 friends of mine and I ran around raising all sorts of hell in our friend Doug’s Mustang — sometime around the end of June, his tape player fritzed in an odd sort of way and the only song we could listen to in the car (well, we did get radio too) was “You Got Another Thing Comin'”
I love that song to this DAY — my six year-old even knows most of the words.
If you think I’ll sit around while you chip away my brain
Listen I ain’t foolin’ and you’d better think again
Out there is a fortune waitin’ to be had
You think I’ll let it go you’re mad
You got another thing comin
In this world we’re livin’ in we have our share of sorrow
Answer now is don’t give in aim for a new tomorrow
How could I forget that?? Black Sabbath (with Dio) and Blue Oyster Cult!
I listened to lots and lots of metal in my younger days — still is good to just crank it, when I get a moment to myself that isn’t in the middle of the night….I have blown many a speaker forgetting to readjust the stereo after going from things like Queensreich to Joe Satriani or vice versa….and my husband has had to remind me that 63 is somebody’s birthyear, NOT a good volume for the stereo! π
Could someone pass the beer bong?
I was just going to post a picture of a beer bong, but then I found this sweet, sweet site.
This is so great!!!
Let me borrow that thing…I just spent an evening celebrating my young man’s birthday with the ex-spouse…need therapy, NOW…
therapy doesn’t come from a bottle.
It comes rushing full speed down a plastic hose π
Black and Blue, saw that show twice in the same year. Nassau Coliseum on Long Island and the Hollywood Sportatorium in Hollywood Florida. Remember when Blue Oyster Cult dude rode a Harley onto the stage? Man, the sound! When I was in High School Blue Oyster Cult used to practice in an old abandoned factory in Freeport New York across the tracks and Sunrise Hwy from the school in Freeport. Never saw them but you could sure hear them.
I remember having the same problem after a Scorpion concert… But the worst was when I was front row for an outdoor concert. When the waves started crushing I was almost squashed against the security fence. The guys behind me formed like a cage around me with their arms so I didn’t become part of the fence!
about 3 or 4 years ago. They’re great in concert! I love the bit they do when they play Coast to Coast, where they all gather around the drummer, then break out and walk towards the front of the stage and start rocking. Now THAT’s some serious arena rock presentation skill π
…too revealing, if I said that I don’t quite remember their onstage presentation all that much? ;o)
Seriously though, I saw Def Leppard and really appreciated their act … It was post-accident and the drummer, Allen, was on a big dias that sort of circled so you could really see him as he rocked out.
Hey e – am I remembering correctly that you play ultimate (think this came out during the rush to BTribune and Welcome Wagon days)? How’s the season going?
I’m a huge Def Leppard fan…Rick Allen is amazing. I’ve never seen them in concert though π
I do play ultimate…I’m amazed you remembered that! π But, I’ve been taking a little sabbatical lately, as I’ve had a lot of other things going on. My team is doing well, I’ll be rejoining them in a couple of weeks to gear up for the fall series.
Yes, sometimes they come through for me…
I play too, that’s why I remember … well, that and the fact that not too many play it.
I haven’t been able to play in about 3-4 wks. Sprained my achilles really bad while moving. Missing it big time too.
Great diary e. Thanks for filling in tonight, and for giving me an opp to remember good times.
I’m off to bed now. See you all tomorrow!
Sprained achilles is nothing to mess with…take care of that one.
IIRC, you play somewhere in Ontario, right? Haven’t been over across the border since Gender Blender (in Fergus, ON). If you haven’t been to Gender Blender, you must go. Best. Party. Ever.
π
Yeah, I play in Ottawa with OCUA.
Haven’t been to Gender Blender… You’ll have to fill me in. I’ve definitely been to and by and around Fergus though. :o)
Who here knows what it is like to burn off your bangs in your youth?
Who here was stupid enough to do it more than once? π
Not that that happened to anyone I know. Ever. Never.
And just how DID you do that DJ? π
Well, I wasn’t a campfire LOL or crazy bic lighter.
Let’s just say that I was fifteen and stoopid.
π
eyebrows disposed of two times in my life. The first was when I was five or so, two of my older cousins held me down and applied a facial mask that was, um, potent. The second time was on a Boy Scout outing–let’s just say we had a mishap with the Colman stove making dinner. Good times, good times.
I’ve got a buddy who had his lower leg hair burned off when a campfire got ‘a little out of control’ (his words), and it hasn’t grown back yet.
After 9 years.
Your eyebrows have grown back by now, yah?
Yes, and thankfully they didn’t return with a vengeance. Now if I can just do something about the rest of my face, I hate shaving!!! It’s an everyday thing or else I look like a yetti.
And I’m in the same boat as you (well, I can get away with 2 days max).
Yeah me too! … π
We women don’t have as much hair as some guys but we end up shaving/waxing more areas. WTF?? LOL
I was going to mention something about that…
Most of my lady friends say they can’t imagine putting a razor to their face.
I tell them I can’t imagine having to shave that much area π
There’s an excellent comeback to that.. but it’s on the X-rated side so I’ll just zip my.. er… sit on my hands and not say… er type a word π l
so I’ll just take my earplugs and sit in the corner…
Will be offline most of tomorrow, just trying to get all my Air America podcasts updated so I have plenty of listening material for the trip down to SoCal. I’m almost packed; the computer is about the last thing. The spouse hasn’t even started — that’s pretty much par for the course around here. π
This is going to be a great trip, I can feel it…it’s been so long since we’ve been anywhere farther than San Francisco (I made a trip to Vegas a couple of years ago, but that was a solo trip to meet up with some friends so I don’t count that).
Hope everyone has a great day — hey, Bri and Aloha, Randi Rhodes is going to be in Crawford tomorrow, so go bounce your boobies at her! π (If you’ve heard her Friday opener, you know what I’m talking about, otherwise go here)
But you still ROCK!!!! (AND you like hockey) π
where did the keg-tap go?
KANSAS!?!
It matters not. I’ve got a spare!
are a gentleman and a rocker. This turned out pretty good, congrats ejmw.
all it takes to be a gentleman is to have an extra tap on hand, them I’d say I’m well on my way to being knighted π
Thanks Man Ee, for hanging out here tonight. I’ll be looking forward to Tuesday’s FBC w/ special guest, I’m sure you’ll rock it!
It’s very exciting. Hopefully it will be the start of many candidates coming here to the frog pond. I’m already working on some code for my diary, it will probably be a fiesta. <grin>
Excellente…No puedo esperarlo! π
Me voy a dormir. Que les vayan bien, todos.
And like that’s safe from me, bwahaha.
You’re probably wondering what I want them for. Selling them on e-bay, of course. “One of a kind keg-tappers, previously used by frogs.”
I bet they fetch a premium price for that prior frog use…
You betcha, though some people do react with a big EWW. But they just don’t understand.
