Yeah, like we didn’t see this comming. I would have assumed they’d be smart enough to wait a week or so before letting this out of the bag. Oh, well at least we know what Chaney has been up to the past few days.

From article:”WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 (HalliburtonWatch.org) — The US Navy asked Halliburton to repair naval facilities damaged by Hurricane Katrina, the Houston Chronicle reported today. The work was assigned to Halliburton’s KBR subsidiary under the Navy’s $500 million CONCAP contract awarded to KBR in 2001 and renewed in 2004. The repairs will take place in Louisiana and Mississippi.”
Gee, I feal alot better now, the Government is finally getting shit done. It’s refreshing to know that Halliburton will get $500 million. With all the people starving to death right now, I assumed that there must not be any money left. We can feel secure knowing that the CEO of Halliburton won’t need to dip into his offshore tax shelters in order to put prime rib on the table. And hey, those bones might still have a shred of beef on them by the time they float on down to Bourban St.
I bartend, and they got these stickers that say “Tip, you bastards!” we put on our jars. It’s more of a snark than anything.
I tipped!!
What’s 1/2 billion $ among friends…heh?
And this half billion will likely be subtracted from the “aid package” that Congress has just passed for the post-Katrina recovery.
I made the snarky comment two days ago that Halliburton would be given no-bid contracts to deal with the Katrina disaster. And I was only joking.
Isn’t it amazing how quickly this action is put into place! Somehow, I think the priorities are very clear here. When it comes to dealing with the military, we can move swifter than a speeding bullet.
This is just reinforced by the sight of Bush backed by Rumsfeld and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Rose Garden today. Yes, that’s what we needed, a military response to the situation. Not the national guard, no, it’s the regular military taking care of things so well, under Rumsfeld’s watch care.
So who is in charge?
Homeland security?
Dept. of Defense?
Certainly not FEMA!
Yeah, I cracked a few about this as well ahead of time. I once read that true fascism up close looks more like a parody of itself.
