As I mentioned in an earlier comment, my wife’s friend is a victim of Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent inaction from the government. Catnip recommended that I post a diary, so here it is.
His name is Don Boyle. A 52 year old, diabetic vet that was born and raised in Gretna, LA. He was living in Jefferson Parish, LA. when the hurricane hit. He was unemployed when Katrina hit and was unable to evacuate. He’s currently in St. Charles waiting for a friend to pick him up and take him back to Lexington, TN.
All of his belongings, other then the clothes on his back, have been lost. Other then temporary shelter, he has no permanent place to stay.
