From Newsweek:
Grover Norquist, the conservative activist with close ties to Karl Rove, blamed the chaos on “looting in a Democratic city run by a Democratic mayor and a Democratic governor.”
Who is this asshole that blames the victim? Close ties to Rove the sociopath. Damn him to hell for blaming the victims for the administrations failure to provide security to the hurricane survivors. Damn them all to Hell for their games and spin. They have raped the government coffers with their tax cuts to the fucking rich. Its not enough that they do well the poor must suffer and die. Damn them.
UPDATE:
I was ignorant of this man, my thanks to Brin for perking my curiosity. He was indeed the man who said ” I don’t want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub.”
Here’s more from a conservative no less:
Columnist Tucker Carlson harshly criticized him as a “mean-spirited, humorless, dishonest little creep … an embarrassing anomaly, the leering, drunken uncle everyone else wishes would stay home…[he] is repulsive, granted, but there aren’t nearly enough of him to start a purge trial”

Asshole
Damn all the so called Democratic assholes who are covering for the GOP…ie Bull Clinton, Breaux etc…
He the one who wanted to “starve the federal govenment down to the size where we could drown it in the bathub” (does someone have a link to that quote handy??) — I could write you books on Grover, but don’t have the energy.
Yeah, you got your drowning Mr. Norquist, but it wasn’t the govt. you drowned.
Wow. OMG. The asshole is Satan himself.
Thanks, Brin, I’ll search for the quote and update.
at least Satan was an angel once upon a time — Mr. Norquist has always been one evil motherfucker.
We need every f’ing reporter that was down there screaming that this was not the case to call bullsh*t on these scumbags.
Nagin was a Republican until he ran for Mayor. He did a reverse Bloomberg because he knew he’d never be elected as a Republican in New Orleans. He donated $$ to Bush in 1999.
So if Norquist wants to play hardball, all I have to say is “bring it on”.
Grover Norquist is an infamous asshole. This doesn’t surprise me one bit.
Anticipated Republican talking points:
The Federal Government let us down. Abolish it.
It failed because it was too big to move quickly. Make it smaller.
Let faith-based organizations or private companies plan for and take care of disasters. They’re more efficient.
The tax and spend people caused this. The only way to correct it is to end the capital gains and estate taxes.
