What defines a traitor? Here’s an official dictionary definition:

One who betrays one’s country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.

By that standard the Log Cabin Republicans are traitors. They are traitors to a cause, traitors to a moral obligation, and traitors to themselves.

Wake up idiots! You belong to a party that rejects and despises you. And I’m not talking about your beliefs or conservative principals, I’m talking about your very existence.
Your party is led by a president who has advocated writing bigotry against you into the Constitution, the supreme law of the land and the very cornerstone of all legislation and exercise of public power in this country. He has brought bigotry into the mainstream, made it an issue in elections, and has emboldened his followers to spread anti-gay sentiment across the country, not that it wasn’t bad enough already.

I equate you to Jews who supported the Nazis, slaves who supported the Confederacy, or Kurds who supported the Baathists. You are living under the false illusion that you can combat your party’s bigotry from within. You allow Republicans to trot you out in liberal areas for PR and photo ops so they can appear inclusive, but all the while they’re working behind the scenes to destroy you.

Some quotes from members of the GOP, their supporters and contributors:

“It is [a sin]….You should try to show them a way to deal with that problem, just like alcohol…or sex addiction…or kleptomaniacs.” – Republican Senator & Former Majority Leader Trent Lott

“If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything,” – Republican Senator Rick Santorum

“Brute beasts … part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven.” – Moral Majority and Liberty University Founder Rev. Jerry Falwell

“The Republican Party is not going to allow individuals like the Log Cabins or the KKK or any other hate group in direct conflict with our philosophy, a forum to spread their hateful message.” – Texas Republican Party Communications Chairman Robert Black during George Bush’s Governorship (Black also compared Log Cabin Republicans to the North American Man/Boy Love Association, a pedophile organization.)

“The State carries the power of the sword, that is, the power to prohibit [homosexual] conduct with physical penalties, such as confinement and even execution. It must use that power to prevent the subversion of children toward this lifestyle.” – Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore

“Homosexuals are dangerous. They proselytize. They come to the door, and if your son answers and there is nobody there to stop it, they grab the son and run off with him. They steal him. They take him away and turn him into a homosexual.” – Lou Sheldon, Founder of the Traditional Values Coalition

“If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it’s possible to have a marriage state that in principle excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism,” – Former Republican Senate & Presidential Candidate Alan Keyes

“[AIDS is] nature’s revenge on gay men.” – Former Nixon Aide & Occasional Presidential Candidate Patrick Buchanan

“Since our nation was founded, we have discriminated against certain things. We discriminate against kidnappers. We discriminate against murderers. We discriminate against thieves…There are laws that prohibit that kind of conduct. And there have been laws since the founding of our country against what are considered unnatural sex acts, sex between members of the same sex.”  – 700 Club Founder & Former Republican Presidential Candidate Pat Robertson

What more do you need to realize that you’re cavorting with the enemy?

The Log Cabin Republicans believe that “equal treatment under the law for gay men and women is consistent with the principles and values of the Republican Party”.

What a joke.
