Well, the Booman contingent in San Francisco was small but motivated! Librarylil got us organized, and Kamakhya and her daughter, along with me and my husband rounded out the group. Kid Oakland joined us briefly, and then he was off again — faster than the camera could move.
The marchers, 50,000 strong, head up Market Street, SF’s main drag.
The rally at the end in Jefferson Square Park — the park was too small to accommodate the crowd, and people spilled out into the surrounding streets.
The CHP was out in force to make sure we unruly lefty types didn’t try to overrun the freeway.
Here are some images from the crowd
Finally, here are your intrepid BooTribbers (l-r) Librarylil, Kamakhya and her daughter Cypress, Babaloo
Great pics….that’s what it was like!
And it was nice to meet you all….
we had a grumpy three year old in our East Bay contingent….hence the need to run rejoin my cadre!
They’ll be more protests and meetups…and today was a beautiful day for a march…all around.
(and yeah, I liked the drumming and the creativity in the banners. SF folks know how to do it.)
Cuties one and all. Love the shirt!
Superb job Babaloo!!!!! Your really captured some great visuals. The crowd in the park was unbelievable. It was just this sea of people with the police circling it trying to keep everyone inside the zone.
It was just great meeting you, Dan and LibraryLil. Great conversation, great spirit, and a wonderful way to spend the day.
While I hope we don’t ever have to march on this issue again, I somehow suspect that we are not done yet! Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing y’all again.
kid oakland walking away from the group?
Kid Oakland is MUCH better looking than that guy! 😉
just with the comment above it saying he had to leave…I thought that was a pic of him leaving. So kid oakland has a better looking back than that guy? hehehe Thanks for the photos…They are awesome. I am hoping KO had his camera yesterday. I went to his Photo Page and he has taken some amazing pictures. He is way talented photoguy.
Really nice pictures, Babaloo, I do think you nailed it. What a beautiful day for a little protest eh? It was perfect to spend the afternoon with you all: Babaloo, Dan, Kama and Cypress. Here’s hoping the next time we’ll have a happier reason to meet.
Thanks so much for sharing the pics with us.
So glad you had such a great crowd show up and that Boo Tribbers got to meet face to face.
You are a great looking bunch!!
Hugs
