Okay, so my borders suck. But what a great day! We have newcomers. We have froggies dropping in who haven’t been here for a while. We even have a regular date for our book club: the 4th Saturday of every month. And we’re close to having a name for it. Go vote if you haven’t already. .LINK:
Any details on the Photo Fair. sizes? categories? limit on number of submissions? I see it’s coming right up (hope I’m not stressing out the organizers – but I loves to post me some photos on the trib 🙂
As for blues – the pale hosers have held off my Eric Wedge former Shocker managed Tribe. Hopefully the Red Sox can come back and take the east from the evil empire and the Tribe can sew up the wildcard…
Here’s a photo from a series of a ramshackle barn and sunflowers near my wife’s hometown in SE Kansas.
Beautiful. Gee, photo is from Kansas. It could just as well be anywhere, USA. There is so much that is familiar, nice framing. Oh, I can’t wait for the photo shindig. I think we have some really talented people around here.
Official Announcement Of Shycat’s 50th Birthday,Housewarming,Halloween, and Tree Planting Party.
Whaddya mean you are tapped out by going to ‘useless’ demonstrations? Slackers!
Oct 29! Here in North,Va.:P
Bring yourself- your ideals- and probably a pillow- and maybe what you like to drink- hub is in charge of catering- so food is up to him.
Bring high spirits- bring comfort, bring what you have and bring it with love.
Hey,that ain’t much–right? right.
I WISH I could be there, and all my boys too!! Beautiful tim of year round them thar parts.
The second box showed up today on the doorstep, BTW. So at this rate, the third one should show up ’round mid October!
Haven’t opened it yet, and I forgot to tell you that those two beautiful flower bowls int he first box were broken when they got here — bummed me out, they were so pretty. I put one of the pieces up on the shelf where I keep special stuff….
The kids commandered the Mardi Gras beads, and I haven’t had the heart to take them back — they’ve been so good about all the stuff coming through the house that isn’t for them, I hope you don’t mind. Oh, and Ethan, tookt he two rolls of toilet paper and dutifully put them on the rolls in the two bathrooms. Thus, my reasoning behind not opening the second box until they are not around!
The beads were fun stuff! Meant for FUN to whoever got their paws on them– too bad about the bowls– oh well.:(
Pretty cute about the TP- looks like Ethan knows his way around the housework routine- –LMAO! Lots better than a lot of adults.
And now hub is pissed ’cause he thought that was so carefully packed-but then he says – ‘you know how people fling things around -not really a big surprise’.
That is very special to me that you kept a piece of a broken bowl– ok — NO MORE WEEPING!
Hey katiebird, I haven’t chimed in on the photo-fair stuff, but I wanted to let you know that you are doing a great job in getting it organized along with the rest of the committee. I love the new ad too!
Perhaps I’ll still be drinkin’ beer at midnight when Friday arrives. O:)
I appreciate your very kind words. I’ve been feeling oppressed by guilt for not getting this stuff settled sooner. But, my job has been very demanding lately and I just haven’t had the mental energy to think about anything else.
Amazingly, after posting a bunch of ideas last night and this morning, my sluggish brain cleared up and I got more done at work today than I have in weeks!
Hi Katiebird, Speaking of the photo fair, if you can use any more help, let me know. I have a Picture Trail paid account and I would love to offer space to post photos.
By the way, Man Eegee is right, the new ad is great!
I assume that by clicking the Powell’s icon on this site I will then be supporting BooMan when I purchase the book. If I need to do anything different, please let me know, BooBookies.
You know it’s good to be in a place that feels like you’re in your house, you know.
Now it’s a beautiful thing, we’re glad you people are assembled here with us on this Saturday night…You know what I mean? You don’t feel like Saturday night people. Some Saturday night people, that’s the only night they get out and they act like it.
[…]
Now we would like to think of some very beautiful Bright Moments. You know what I mean?
Bright Moments.
Bright Moments is like eating your last pork chop in London, England, because you ain’t gonna get no more…cooked from home.
Bright Moments is like being with your favorite love and you’re sharing the same ice cream dish. And you get mad when she gets the last drop. And you have to take her in your arms and get it the other way
Bright Moments.
That’s too heavy for most of you all because you don’t know nothing about that kind of love. The love you all have been taught about is the love in those magazines. And I am fortunate that I didn’t have to look at magazines.
Bright Moments.
Bright Moments is like seeing something that you ain’t never seen in your life and you don’t have to see it but you know how it looks.
Bright Moments is like hearing some music that ain’t nobody else heard, and if they heard it they would’nt even recognize that they heard it ’cause they been hearing it all their life but they nutted on it, so when you hear it and you start popping your feet and jumpin’ up and down they get mad because you’re enjoying yourself but those are Bright Moments that they can’t share with you because they don’t even know how to go about listening to what you’re listening to and when you try to tell them about it they don’t know a damn thing about what you’re talking about!
Is there any other Bright Moments before we proceed on?
Bright Moments.
Bright Moments.
Bright Moments is like having brothers and sister and sisterettes and brotherettes like you all here listening to us.
Just about to hit the hay for the evening, but wanted to wish everyone a peaceful night (or day for those on the other side of the Atlantic).
Oh, and welcome Proudlibmom and any other newbies who might be lurking about. Hmmm…wonder if we need a “Welcome Wagon Diary” for tomorrow? It’s been a while since we’ve had an official one, might be good to remind ourselves who we are as we gear up to fight the next round of the Good Fight…
Sending you off with a lullaby from The Mamas & The Papas — I think someone mentioned this in the earlier cafe:
Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper “I love you”
Birds singin’ in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me
Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you’ll miss me
While I’m alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me
Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I’m longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me
[It’s amazing what you find on Google — when Googling the lyrics (and will Googling be an accepted verb in the next edition of Webster’s Unabridged?), I found out that Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald also did this song…I’ll have to look for those, especially Ella’s…]

We’re close to an agreement — we’re trying to keep things nice for the dial-up users, without compromising on image quality.
I’m hoping to have more information tomorrow, but, it may be Saturday before everything is hammered out.

Nag,
I agree — it’s all that talent bursting out all over the place here that made me think of this fair.
I sure hope we can get the details settled soon.

What a day… I think I’m gonna treat myself to some pizza and beer tonight for dinner. Hi everyone!
Oh, that sounds good! Even better if it was Friday!!

Ahhh, Nag — The very thing I was proposing!
Can I forward a message to you?
Absolutely, forward away……
Hey Katiebird, If you emailed me I didn’t get it yet. I’m going to go offline for a while, so, later.
It’s on it’s way Nag (I know, you’re probably not around). Let me know if you don’t get it. I might have messed up the address….
I love coming back from dinner and reading all the conversation so far.
We have a book club name winner!!
BooBooks
And we are the BooBookies
And we are creating a LiBoory.
So there! See you on Saturday, Oct 22, to talk about BAYOU FAREWELL by Mike Tidwell.
I assume that by clicking the Powell’s icon on this site I will then be supporting BooMan when I purchase the book. If I need to do anything different, please let me know, BooBookies.
That’s right, proudlibmom.
Hey, y’all, proudlibmom just joined the site today!
It seems to have gone quiet around the cafe for now, but they’ll be back.
Hi Proudmom….welcome to the Froggy Bottom Cafe. BTw it is customary to do a tell us about you comment so we can get to know you….so please,….
I’m an old hand now–I’ve been here something like two whole weeks. So come on in, the water’s fine.
And “Book ’em all!” can be our motto.
I love it! Wow, we even have a motto. Hey, we need a logo. Maybe somebody will come up with one.
I just reserved it at my library.

Sleep well, everyone…
and too irate for words.
