Out and about today — rode the newest light rail extension in San Jose/Campbell today. It’s probably going to get a “from nowhere to nowhere” bashing by the anti-transit folks, but actually, there are a lot of apartments and homes along the line, and it goes through downtown San Jose (heard quite a few people looking forward to riding it to San Jose State), so I think it’ll be pretty successful.
Spouse wanted to go up to SF, I wanted to get some errands done…so I sent him off to play. 🙂 Oh, and treated myself to a new “toy” — a 40GB portable hard drive, so now I can back up my writing, my photos and my music without burning a ton and a half of CDs! Especially since I’m up to almost 7GB of music in my iTunes library…
Hope everyone else has had a great day — I’m still in a pretty decent mood today; it was good to actually get out of here early instead of vegging. Now I just hope the spouse keeps his promise and takes the 6pm train home from SF, which will put him back here somewhere around 7:30; we’ve got major cleaning to perform tomorrow! 🙂
You have a chat?? hahhaaa – no doubt an IRC chat which is another thing that is beyond me– yes I have it- but it has all those icky flourescent colors!
I need a rent-a -geek to splain it.
Volunteers? I thought not.
Katie, when i got this baby Mac, I found out that i couldn’t use Yahoo chat anymore — or dammit it all to hell! — play Yahoo games. I hope Yahoo ‘members me someday and lets me play again.
I mostly lurk, recommend, rate, and add only the occasional comment of substance when I have something useful to say, or maybe a joke or two along the way.
So far I have read the bulk of the recommended list and a few recent diaries, and the entire front page. And I think I learned something new in each of them?
Anyone still up….I just got back from my daughters house where I finally got to watch the last half of manchurian candidate….my daughter would often say, “that reminds me of the MC” about Bush Co, this or that., and I never knew quite what she meant until tonight.
Anyone have any assesments of the movie vs. today…
I saw the original Manchurian Candidate more than 12 or 13 years ago and haven’t seen the new one. I’m sorry, but I don’t remember enough of it to compare it with the current Bush.
I just finished drafting the Diary with the submission guidelines for the Photography Fair!!
Our committee has come to an agreement about the standards and management of the Froggy Bottom Photography Fair.
So we’ll have a diary up very, very soon (tomorrow) with the guidelines for submission!!!
I’m sorry I missed the chat… got home at 5:47. Looking forward to seeing the details tomorrow, though!
We didn’t break up until 6pm! We were in the chat room from 4:30-6!!
Oh, my gosh! I’m so glad we lived through that. I couldn’t believe it when I looked at the clock.
Wow. I should have checked-I thought you’d be done already.
At that point we were pretty close to done, so you probably didn’t miss much. Things like: So are we done?
Good evening folks. The little guy has just settled in for the night. Now a little relaxation for mom.
We just got our 6 year old to bed. We went out to celebrate my birthday but my son made it, umm, difficult. (but never boring) Oh, hello to all!

What a concept. Here in the Motown, I’ll be retired before we see a light rail system. That’s 20 years from now.

Actually, shycat – I think it was a chatfordummies at Yahoo Groups.
All you have to do is click on a hyperlink.
And get bumped out every 45 minutes or so….

Glad you had a GOOD meeting! It’s very exciting!
Susan, that’s horrible!
Wait, what are Yahoo Games? Why don’t I know about this!
with Yahoo.
I wonder if it’s something to do with some of the later OS X iterations; I didn’t have any problems on my old iBook under 9.2 :(.
Haven’t tried since I ran a recent Java update; I’ll have to try it sometime, even if it means opening (shudder) IE…
I just went to check out if my firefox ran one of my favourite games and it did… (I am using it on windows right now, though I also have a Linux box)
It gave me an interesting message at the bottom of the gamescreen, I guess because I was using Firefox:
Note: Bookworm is not compatible with Unix or Macintosh computers.
I am guessing that it is a common problem with many of their games?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone seen Zander around lately?
Just curious :o)
She stops in once in a while, but hasn’t been back much since she went on vacation earlier this summer.
That’s good to know. I just couldn’t remember seeing her for a while now. Maybe she met a new friend on vacation ? :o)
Anyway, she was the first one to welcome me to the pond so she’s special :o)
I miss her a lot.
Just scanning the comments, handing out a bunch of free 4s, and saying hi before I move on to reading some more diaries!
Be back here in a bit…
HI!
Good to see you. Maybe we’ll run into each other later.

Time to crash… Me, not the computer , that is.

Did you see the new one or the old one? The old one with Frank Sinatra and Angela Lansbury (!) as the evil mom is well worth watching.
OMG! 12:51! No wonder the keys are getting blurry. ‘Night, all. 🙂
I saw the new one with Denzel Washington, with Merril Streep as the mother and she was really verrrry good in this part.

I’ll post it in the morning. Whew!
