The small diary-display size for the images has two purposes:
So we decided to have a single standard (150px wide/ 40kb file-size). But, please notice this: Everyone is encouraged to use display-images as a thumbnail link to a full size image if you feel the small size doesn’t do justice to your photograph.
We know that all the resizing and linking could be difficult for some participants. And that is why the committee has worked out the details of posting images for anyone, everyone who would like us to do it for them. |
Here’s a link to the previous Fair Guidelines Diary in case you missed it.
There was some good discussion on Sunday when it came out. But, it’s scrolled off the charts and I’d like to keep the discussion going.
If you want to keep the guidelines available, click on the + sign next to the title of the Diary and it will stay in your hotlist.
My plan is to post a Fair Diary Template, later this week that can be copy and pasted into a diary. That should make it simpler for people who want to compile their on Display Tents.
I’m looking forward to seeing your photographs!
This time, with formatting:

I’m confused by the 40k limit on the thumbnails-none of my imageshack thumbnails are that small-and I have no idea how to make them smaller without changing the resolution of the photos, which I don’t want to do.
because my thumbnails in imageshack are running 6k-8k. Are you looking at the information under the thumbnail like the one below which shows 600×450 – 37kb? Because that’s information for the full size image, not the thumbnail.
oooo ok
gotcha.
i’m not very good at this. đŸ˜€
too kewl… I can’t wait.
using thumb links will be good-150 is pretty restrictive.
for the diary but link it to the larger image. To do this, just copy the “Thumbnail Code” from Imageshack and paste it into the diary. Or here’s an example of the code:
Title of photo
<a href=”http://photobucket.com/albums/b25/account/image.jpg”>
<img src=”http://photobucket.com/albums/b25/account/thumbnail_image.jpg”></a>
