The Gates installation in Central Park, this past Feb was of course the work of Christo and Jeanne-Claude who are planning to do another installation in Colorado in 2008? I hope I make that one too.
I have to say that The Gates experience was one of the highlights of my life.
It was also my very first visit to NYC, and I have nothing but very fond memories of the New Yorkers I met.
Your photo made smile. Then when I looked at the larger version I found it amazing!
The soil with circular ridges reminded me of sand at the beach. And the snow in the background looked like water. Then I had to check again to be sure it was taken in ND.
The green of this plant is so intense. I studied the break up of the surface around the plant – how packed the ground is and how much is affected by the plant.
Doesn’t this plant know it is cold?! There is still snow. And it must be windy, to produce those ridges in the soil – cold wind.
“The Little Prince” came to mind. And this plant doesn’t even have thorns to protect it!
Great shots, NDD. I particularly love this one. The repitition of shapes and lines is almost startling, and your framing was perfect.
I also love the first shot of that incredible sunset, and Tenacity. Great job.
This one of the butte reminds a little of a horse-back camping trip
I took in the Teddy Roosevelt State Park, in Kildeer, ND.
I’ve been to ND a few times and have been fortunate enough to
experience some incredibly beautiful sites and places. I especially
love the unending fields of sunflowers in full bloom in the summer.
That comment was supposed to go with the Sunset shot. These are all so interesting, NDD. I also particularly like Tenacity and the prairie shot. Thanks so much.
Sunset on Day of World’s Largest Anti-War Demonstration
All of these photos are beautiful, NDD, I especailly like this one!
Never been to North Dakota – thanks for taking me there!
Looks like nature decided to make its own anti-war statement.
Peace
I agree with each of you. this is simply a signifant breathtaking one.

Wow! What an amazing shot. It looks like a cross between a rainbow and a bomb. Great one to start the fair with. Oh, this is going to be fun!

It was a pleasure to make this diary for you. I really enjoyed getting the sneak preview over everybody else.
Thanks so very much AndiF for making my diary, I very much appreciate it!!!
Hopefully, next time around, my schedule will allow me to have a go at it myself, as I do enjoy adding more skills to my HTML repertoire.
Also, thanks for the compliment on the photos.
It’s been great fun seeing everyone’s comments, especially as I have yet to to exhibit any photos outside my home.
Was gorgeous…I’m waiting for Mr. Fab to get back in here to see the pics. I’m sure he’d love that one too.
Thank you NDD. Your images are awesome. I especially like the two Lakota Tribal Land, Butte and Prairie. Breathtaking.
Thanks so very much, everyone, for the compliments!!!
It’s so very tempting to reply to each and every one of you… but so many others’ photos await my attention. (Consider the 4s my sign of appreciation.)
If anyone has any further questions or plans to visit my area please feel free to email.
This whole photo fair was such a great idea. It has totally surpassed my wildest expectations… and another day to go yet, wow!!
Thanks so much to everyone involved.
