Well I’d like to post something funny but I read this article a week ago and haven’t seen anyone else mention this.
http://tinyurl.com/93smx The article is titled “Much of US Fighting Gear Stockpiled in S.Korea in Disrepair”. According to the GAO last year at least 80% of stockpiled equipment from Bradley Fighting Vehicles to tanks, howitzers were in ‘disrepair’. Faulty engines, cracked gun tubes, etc and would take at least a year to get everything repaired.
The article also stated that this is the biggest stockpile we have which is now in such ‘disrepair’ that this could cause serious problems if we needed equipment fast-duh…I found the whole article scary…and wonder once again what the goddam fucken hell Rumsfield does anyway..does he not do one goddam thing to make sure we have equipment in repair, enough of it etc etc. Also that it would take at least 5 Billion to restock our overseas stockpiles..we’re running on fucken empty and have just about or have destroyed our military and these fuckers are making threatening sounds against Syria and Iran..they really are insane. Of course the article did say things have been fixed ..and I believe that as much as I can throw Rummy. I suppose this would go along with another article I read where the head of the Nat. Guard said they needed some 37,000 communication units as the ones his troops are using in Iraq are ones left over from Vietnam.

I just can’t seem to bring myself to do a diary susan…it would take me forever probably to write one…I am a extremely slow writer. The luxury(ha)of being disabled and not getting around much is the fact that I happen to spend hours/hours reading political stuff every morning and following links before I make it over to here every day. I know I also read somewhere we’ve run out of bullets and are buying them from Israel(I think)or a few other countries..nothing like not buying American right.

The Shining is one of my favorite movies (I love Kubrick, who doesn’t?), and I hate Hollywood feelgood shlock. That clip hit me hard in the funnybone.

Speaking of the cig company, does anyone else find it more than strangely amusing for them to have a commercial on the evil of smoking and how you can go to their website and find ways to quit? Didn’t they have to do these commercials because of that big lawsuit they lost?
