Bomb hits outside KFC in Karachi
KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) 45 min. ago — A powerful bomb exploded outside the front entrance to a KFC restaurant in the southern Pakistan city of Karachi on Tuesday, killing at least three people and injuring 12 others, witnesses said.
The blast, at about 8:45 a.m., set fire to the restaurant, part of the global American fast food chain, and burned several cars on the street outside.
Witnesses said they saw the bodies of at least three people killed in the blast and ambulances were seen taking away at least 12 injured.
Hundreds of people gathered at the site of the blast, near the Pearl Intercontinental Hotel that is popular with foreign tourists and businesspeople.
The bomb struck as commuters were heading to offices and shops in the crowded business hub.

NEW DELHI Nov. 16 — The police in Indian-administered Kashmir say a number of people have been wounded in a massive explosion in the summer capital, Srinagar.
“It looked like a car bomb. The earth shook,” Deen Dayal, an eyewitness told Reuters news agency.
The explosion occurred near the headquarters of a bank in the central business district of the city.
The blast came a day after a gun battle between security forces and militants in Srinagar which killed five people.
“The explosion was massive and there are a large number of casualties. I saw a lot of injured people on the road crying. I don’t know about the fatalities,” Nazir Ahmed, a bank manager told Associated Press.
