I voted for Dick. (Cheney, that is.) Besides being adorable, it’s been like 3 whole days since he’s eaten any babies. Kudos!
But does he eat them with salsa?
Sometimes, but he usually prefers tartar sauce.
MMM…crunchy crispy with tartar sauce.
Yep, but he just has to be reminded to floss afterwards.
Or so I’m told.
You mentioned this, and made me decide to go by the Fish Market to get a couple of fresh fillets for tonight’s dinner… 😉
I think we’ve found a solution to the whole unwanted pregnancies dilemma!
(ducking tomatoes & wishing I’d learn to keep my sicko humor to myself…)
with those poll results?
Well…he does dress well
.
He implying VP of course! Just this picture though.

How could anyone forget this travesty?
But I thought the whole point of fashion was to make yourself stand out in a crowd! 😉
Darn it. I didn’t vote because there was no “All of the above.”
All the people that died, died, all the people that died…..
Please help — these are lyrics from the chorus of a song that is running and running through my head — it was one of my favorites way back when (but it appears that that particular brain cell has left for better times elsewhere…)
What song is this? Whose song is it? I know it was from somehwere around late 70s early 80s punk time (Sex Pistols? The Clash? Dead Kennedys? The Ramones??)
This is the kind of thing that will keep me up nights…any and all assistance will be much appreciated!
😉
of “Basketball Diaries” fame, I beleive it is the fifth track on the album “Catholic Boy”:
“Teddy sniffing glue he was 12 years old
Fell from the roof on East Two-nine
Cathy was 11 when she pulled the plug
On 26 reds and a bottle of wine
Bobby got leukemia, 14 years old
He looked like 65 when he died
He was a friend of mine
Refrain:
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
They were all my friends, and they died
G-berg and Georgie let their gimmicks go rotten
So they died of hepatitis in upper Manhattan
Sly in Vietnam took a bullet in the head
Bobby OD’d on Drano on the night that he was wed
They were two more friends of mine
Two more friends that died / I miss ’em–they died…”

thanks, Cicero!! Now I can sleep!
You ROCK!

when God revealed unto me the Ultimate Political Truth: Bush is the leaky condom of terrorism protection.
The Revolution has begun. Heh.
This is also fun reading for all the conspiracy theorists that accused Bowers of trying to divert money to his campaign. As I explained at the time, it doesn’t take a money to be a committeeperson in Philly. Usually you just have to know someone and be willing to show up.
Congrats Chris. The city will get cleaned up yet.
Hi, Boo!
When I was growing up in Philly, once in a while our Democratic committeeman would show up on the doorstep before a local election. One time I asked my mother who that was at the door. “Our Democratic committeeman” was the reply. “What’s a Democratic committeeman?” I asked. She replied, “He tells you who to vote for, and he’s the person you go to if you need your traffic tickets ‘fixed.'”
God’s honest truth, LOL. (You may recall this is the woman whose godfather was “running numbers” behind the barbershop modeled after a periscope.)
Cleaning up the city may take awhile…
Seriously, though, well-deserved congratulations to Chris, and you know he’s going to be on your case now Boo to go and do likewise. 😉
I saw this on the news last night and this morning it was in the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Walgreens has suspended four employees in Southern Illinois (the metro east St. Louis area) for refusing to fill “morning after” pills. Before you give Walgreens too much credit, they felt that they had to do this because Illinois has a unique law:
PostDispatch
Four of them? Sounds like a right-wing set up to cry about persecution of xtian pharmacists, doesn’t it?
Yes, it does seem fishy that four of them would be suspended for the same offense at the same time. Walgreeens has offered them the opportunity to transfer to the Missouri side of the river, where they can refuse to serve customers to their heart’s content. But they probably want to join in the suit challenging the Illinois law. The St. Louis TV stations played the story slightly to the right of neutral. The narrator emphasized that Walgreens was bound by the Illinois law, but the film showed the pharmacists wailing on about their christian beliefs. St. Louis is a weird TV market — it serves the metropolitan area which is Bluish but it also serves outstate which is bright Red. So it always seems to tilt slightly right, but never so much that it’s completely obvious.

Darcy explained that to me one day … but I forget what she said. It is a software cutoff. It’s not a true stat for DKos visitor stays. I’ll have to ask her again.
The time spent visiting one page is based upon time(exited)-time(entered).
If you visit the main page of dKos, then close your browser (or move on to another site), the software has no way of determining the exit time. A zero (seconds) is recorded.
So, the stats imply that many visitors to dKos simply hit the front page and then depart as the “average time” reflects weighting by the zero time entries, whereas at this site, people are more likely to click on another link at the site, which creates a time elapsed for the previous page visit.
Another way of putting it is that dKos visitors are likely to be the wham, bam, … well, never mind, you know what I mean.
Yeah but I ‘m here to tell you they don’t say thank you, ma’am.
(JUST JOKING!)
Oh, so many, many wonderful choices. How to choose just one? I vote for All of the Above.

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Intrigue deepened over the CIA leak scandal clouding the White House, after TIME magazine revealed special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald had demanded testimony from another of its reporters.
The revelation seemed to indicate Fitzgerald was still aggresively probing Rove, President George W. Bush’s closest political aide, a scenario sure to dent White House’s hopes for a swift end to the damaging affair.
TIME magazine said Sunday that Washington correspondent Viveca Novak would testify under oath about her conversations with Robert Luskin, lawyer for White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove.

The Washington Post meanwhile reported that Valerie Plame would retire from the CIA, where she has been recently working on non-covert matters, on December 9.
