Very little to report on this except that Patrick Fitzgerald and several deputies were seen carrying files into the grand jury area of the courthouse in Washington today.
It would appear we have activity folks. Carrying files, assuming they are voluminous, makes it sound like he has a case to present to the new Grand Jury. Making a case would mean requesting indictments.
More will be revealed….
Trying not to get too giddy here…
Of course, more indictment(s) means more trials, which will most likely be going on in the midst of the mid-term election season, hopefully showing the American voters the moral bankruptcy of this Republican administration.
(Won’t hold my breath though…)
Moral Bankruptcy is the perfect phrase. I see they’ve already co-opted ‘culture of corruption’ and are using it on the U.N. I intend to use ‘moral bankruptcy’ in every communication with the media from now on. Thanks Cali. Fitzgerald is just the right guy to expose it, isn’t he?

Many are saying that the Abramoff scandal will likely result in the real destruction of the GOP…
Libby et al will cause some collateral damage. But Abramoff himself, and through DeLay, is tangled up with almost everyone in the GOP, and there is the alleged mafia style hit involved. ’06 should be interesting, indeed.
Here’s a very funny riff on Fitz as current heart-throb, and us as heart-throbees.
Three utterly sensible political ladies I know:
“Ooo, I hear he has pizza boxes all over his aprtment.”
“His suit needs pressing. Nobody takes care of him.”
“[lawyer lady] “I’d like to work on his briefs.”
I think he makes a good secret boyfriend (the secret being that he knows nothing about it). But in real life … the guy sounds like a workaholic who is VERY dedicated to his job and would constantly be calling to break dates because something of more importance came up.
well i just want him to come over and spank me once in a while
im im never the spankee
Is that your image, and can i resize it for the front page?
It isn’t my image, I got it off the net.
I think I may have found it in a “free use space”… I will find out and check for you. Give me five or ten minutes.
I have the original image name and I can’t find the original source? It is like it disappeared???
this image from wikipedia is certainly “free use”

Tah Dah! I’m wondering if it isn’t “teach-in” day for the new Grand Jury. Fitz may be there with his deputies to bring the new Grand Jury up to speed. If it is it’s just as much a cause for rejoicing as indictment presentations, it means that the beat goes on, and Fitz has more to do, and indictments are on the way.
Can we audit the class? Please?
The theory was proposed that more was coming–that Libbey’s indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice was just a foretaste of what he could expect if he did not co-operate with the investigation.
May it be so!
ABC News via Think Progress reports that he spent 3 hours in front of the Grand Jury accompanied by 3 deputies and an FBI agent.
Has he taken an FBI agent with him before? That seems odd… or testimonial…. If he was protection for Fitz or for classified documents I wouldn’t expect it to be FBI. Anyone know how these things work?
3 hours with 3 deputies and an agent sounds like bringing the new Grand Jury up to speed so that he can proceed from there with whatever comes next.
What would an FBI agent testify about?
Not perjury or obstruction of justice. No, an FBI agent would testify about his own criminal investigation… wouldn’t he?
