I’ve gone through all the comments. These were the site choices (in no particular order):
New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Harper’s Ferry. I’ve added a poll below.
As to the date, it seems that May was the choice. Indicate the time in a comment. I’ll test BooMan’s patience by doing a third diary on this subject with a vote on the exact time period when I read all the comments here.
Please recommend so that all can see it. We had a few stragglers for v1.0.
I’m okay with any weekend in May except the first one.
I voted Boston, but I can really do anywhere. Must go to sleep now… but say the when and where and I’ll be there. 🙂
What sherm said. Except I voted Uranus. . .of course.
I voted NY-area.
I thought the Catskills/Berkshires idea made sense.
Last I looked, Chicago wasn’t on the east coast…. did it get moved? 😉
New York’s good and (reasonably) central. Boston or Philly would be okay too. I’m assuming we’re talking a weekend in May, right? At the moment, the calendar’s clear.

I didn’t buy RandMcNally’s 2006 version yet, but let me check to position of Chicago today!

We are planning on taking Chicago with us when we seperate from Jesusland… For all intents and purposes it is part of the East Coast now! lol
If I had known you’d take Chicago seriously, I’d have suggested Indianapolis 🙂
I’ll stay out of the city voting since I think that should be left up to the actual eastcoaster folks but early May would be the time when I would be most likely to be able to come.

Sven, that’s a quick organizer.
Beautiful place for a seminar Huis `t Velde in Warnsveld
For a cup of coffee and a short meet-up you are very welcome at my place in The Hague, ready accessible near Huis ten Bosch. If you prefer some Indonesian food, The Hague has some excellent restaurants either in city center or the sea resort of Scheveningen.

Sunday would be difficult to meet, except in the evening.

I voted Roswell because I haven’t had a chance to get back there since my arrival almost 60 Earth years ago.
I could really use some help to free my little friends there too. Who’s with me?
No joke, I’ve actually been there during a side trip while we were out west. It was 2 years ago and my now 7 year old loved it. I had been interested in going there for a while, which gives some indication what my offline life is like.
i have a friend from roswell. his description of the place leads me to believe that it’s not worth visiting.
Soembody, anybody, please pick Philly!
I pick Philly.
Satisfied? ;o)
But we need more! I knew I should have started fixing the votes earlier…
I would love Philly, but Boo loves the Adirondacks and thinks the Catskills are pretty cool too. Just don’t try to get him in a canoe, cuz he ain’t going.
He really is a bit of a defective Newf.
I’m all for New York area… But you didn’t mean the city, did you?
No, probably the Catskills.
Catskills sound good to me.
Wait a minute now!
Um….what about Philly?
;o)
I started lobbying for votes too late… 🙁
I am really not too picky about destination. Whatever is reasonably “central” for everyone. We could chose Florida and I would still try to get there.
We went camping at a resort in the “Irish Catskills” last summer. It was awesome!
There are slot machines 10 minutes from Harper’s Ferry at the Charlestown Racetrack. This is all I have to add to the debate but personally I feel like this is really important.
