   I’m swamped with pending stories, but there’s an important story that’s being underreported and under-blogged:

   Cynthia McKinney’s home was vandalized.

   If you’ll e-mail me, I’ll send you the stories so you can write it up as a diary.  It won’t take much time, but I’m booked through the afternoon and evening.

           WASHINGTON – Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a fallen soldier in Iraq who reinvigorated the anti-war movement, was taken into custody by police in the House gallery Tuesday night just before President Bush’s State of the Union address.

           Police escorted Sheehan from the visitors’ gallery above the House chamber after causing a disruption, said a Capitol Police official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the incident were sketchy.

           Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., had invited Sheehan to the address as her guest.

           That’s all I know.

   The Indiana General Assembly is considering major legislation today based on a primary 2006 legislative initiative by Gov. Mitch Daniels to turn over operations of the Indiana Toll Road for the next 75 years to a foreign corporation.

   Daniels’ plan to turn over the operation of critical transportation infrastructure to foreign corporate interests is in the name of raising funds to build an extension of Interstate 69 from Indianapolis ot Evansville. The I-69 extension is a project which has a great deal of opposition regardless of the funding.

   I realize this community reaches a worldwide audience, but I urge those of you who are Hoosiers to contact legislators and ask them to stop Gov. Daniels’ pet legislation. If you know someone living in Indiana, please contact them with this urgent message.

   The bill in play today is HB 1008. Tell legislators to vote NO on HB 1008.
