I’ll tell you right now: I’m not Susan, I’ve got no idea where she is or what she’s doing. I stopped by the Booman Tribune headquarters for my regular Saturday assignments (these guys are relentless). But, no one’s here. The place is compeletely abandoned.
Luckily she left her password taped to the front of her monitor, so I’ve logged in to post this Open Thread. Really — you’d think she’d be more responsible than that!

Update [2006-2-4 15:8:9 by BooMan]: I’m back and out of the rain. It is pouring pusses and newfs out there.
So now you have the power to delete comments?
I’ve got the power, baby!
Don’t know where everyone is, but I’m mid-Atlantic on an 18 hour flight.
Where is BoomanTribune HQ?? Sounds like a cool and echo-ey place. And while we’re here, will you please describe for me exactly what Cindy Sheehan’s T-Shirt looked like and said on the night she was arrested at the State of The Union address?
I believe it just had the number of dead US soldiers from the Iraq War, along with the question “How many more?”.
You have net access on an international flight?
Can you tell me which member of Congress had invited her to attend, and is anyone taking seriously her bid to run for the Senate?
Net access is a phone thing. I’m wired, connected and in transit.
Where is BooTrib HQ? What state is it in? When I get back to the US I’d like to make a slow tour.
I believe (and this is strictly from memory) that Lynn Woolsey (CA-??) gave her the ticket.
I’m don’t know anything about the Senate run, though…
I’m not at liberty to say WHERE the offices are, but I can tell you this, they’re in a state of chaos:
And this is the other half — I’m not going to say who’s desk is which!
and here, all this time, I thought you were Suskind…Jezeus, this is confusing.
Peace
Did I read somewhere that you are moving to Sacramento?
What’s with all the pix of neat desks? (I mean, you can still see parts of it, along with the floor — & no, I’m not showing mine . . .)
I’m a little behind in my filing.
This is a corner of my I-luv-IKEA office/studio.

In which I am spending more time than usual because of the storms.
When the south-easters sway that 80 foot Lombardy poplar, it is very impressive indeed.
I have that same chair but in blue. I had a white cushion but my kids spilled drinks all over it and I finally replaced it with a blue one. Now the blue cushion has drink spills all over it.
Rep. Lynn Woolsey of California invited her.
As for Senate run, she’s serious and therefore is a threat imo.
Bootrib HDQ’s is in Philadelphia, Seattle, Upstate NY, Long Island, NY, ST’ Louis, New Hampshire, Michigan, San Diego, Memphis, etc, etc, etc…..
Arizona, Idaho, Maine, New Jersey, London, The Netherlands……….
Canada :o)
what, no hollywood limousine liberals? oh wait, right, i mean, other than me?
Oh Super, how can you forget the all-important state of Florida. I thought we made sure that would never happen again.
Oh Alice ;o)
Please forgive my ignorance.
…and of course the great state of Florida because we made sure never to leave her out again ;o)
Ahem.
Damn
I’d have been better off just keeping my yap shut altogether ;o)
lol. That’ll “larn” ya.
Drink plenty of liquids (non-alcoholic, to stay hydrated), and make sure you try to get your legs moving frequently — I’ve heard lots of stories of people getting blood clots on those long flights.
If the spouse and I ever make it over to GB (tentative plans for a trip after retirement), we’ll probably go from California to NYC, stay a few days in NYC, then head Across the Pond…
Most layovers in NYC feel like a few days.
I flew NYC to Punta Arenas once. That was a helllflight. 18 hours, with a 45 minute stop in Lima, and 45 in Santiago. I flew from 41 degrees north to 52 degrees south. It would have been hellih except the fed 5 meals, there was a lot of water, and free drinks.
What have you done with our Susan!!? And is BooMan really at a conference?? And have you taken over the site Just 4 Now, or for a more permanent, sinister length of time?
Hi guys, this isn’t really boran2. I’m an operative with FreeRepublic and I’ve got boran2 tied up in the corner. Now I can post even sillier things than he usually does. < operative snickers gleefully >
I’ve just spray painted “Free Boran2” on the side of my house.
Well, the joke’s on you, dude, because boran2 likes being tied up in the corner. Oh and whatever else you do with him, don’t show him any art or pour a bunch of liquor down his throat, he really hates that.
You all know I moved. Is there some way to move me on the Frappr map? Some way to delete my old marker and put up a new one? It’s not that important, really, but I just realized…
I don’t think you can even change your quote — it may really be a Beta version!
Gooserock here sitting in at Puget4’s desk again.
It’s been pretty wild in the sound this a.m. She may be without power or possibly connectivity.
We’re on just briefly with judicious use of U.P.S.
Off now to check the cafe.
Take care of yourself — I’ve been in wind storms, they’re dangerous.
instead of working on my garden. The wind is gusting up to 45mph outside but I’m snug in my brick fortress with steel I-beams in the ceilings. Still, I hear the wind buffeting the house and rattling the pump room door.
72 degrees, sun as far as the eye can see (through the smog, but nothing’s perfect.)
the magic of LA. it’s february. this is why i moved from the east coast.
Up around 71 degrees in fact. It’s just no fun having the wind slap ya’ in the face and try to rip your clothes off. And there are all these twigs and branches being blown like arrows looking for targets. It’s been an unusually mild winter so far. Of course, as soon as the daffodils bloom, we’ll get an ice storm for sure.
Luckily she left her password taped to the front of her monitor, so I’ve logged in to post this Open Thread. Really — you’d think she’d be more responsible than that!
She wouldn’t happen to be at a computer security seminar would she?
I suspect she is home carefully covering herself with body paint for tomorrow’s big event. She will be a walking work of art.
That would be so much fun to be involved in….and I mean that in a respectful but reckless, complimentary manner.
😉
All I have to work with is some Gloss Black Rustoleum and some old gold Christmas tree tinsel. It’ll take forever for the paint to wear off.
But I bet you would get on TV if you were in the stands!
The leftover lights I’m using and the star on top of my head might just do it.
So we’re still waiting to hear: What kind of shoes was Hillary wearing? Did they match her pantsuit? Or were they “practical”?
I bet he didn’t notice.
I think dogs are more interested in shoes than men. If he had brought the furry Boo with him, we’d have a better chance of knowing.
It’s not that I didn’t notice, but that I couldn’t see.
She has small silver, non-dangling earrings. Does that help? And new highlights in her hair. Very blonde today.
<she picks herself up off the floor where she’s been rolling in laughter>
Thanks!
for next 24 hours, that’s about 4 inches. That’s what we are expecting and we are already saturated to the max. From Xmas to Jan. 15, I collected 2 litres of rain water in a glass container on the deck. My garden is a bog. I’ve been maintaining our drainage trench, sloshing around in muck. Now my son has to go in the woods to maintain the rest of the trench because I wore myself out.
100 mm of rain to match the 100 kph winds coming up. Oh joy!
(100 kph = 62 mph)
Good to see you back, BooMan — Have you heard from Susan?
unimaginable power.
All of Washington state is apparently without DSL or sattelite phones.
Much of the state has no power and they are telling people in those areas to find alternate ways to watch the Super Bowl.
Susan could be down for days, katie. So (not)Susan can drive around for quite a while yet.
Cool! Watch out everyone!
I have power in kitsap….
I haven’t been around much for the last several weeks actually..just popping in and out..due to boring health reasons…at times the fatigue just takes over and don’t feel up to commenting ..just lurking.
I have enjoyed Boo as the new Fashion Maven for politicians..we will now except him to not only report on what is said but more importantly who is wearing what and who wore it the best. And yes shoes must be reported on also…if a guy wears wing tips does that mean he’s rather stodgy and conservative..or not?
And at the end of the year we will also expect his soon to be Annual Best and Worst Dressed Politico’s.
…tried to add myself…does it take awhile to get on?
