Carry on, the night is young. :::yawn!:::
This is becoming a long-distance pub crawl. I’m gonna have one helluva virtual hangover tomorrow…
Damn, you beat me over here!
Let’s rummage in the bar and pick out all the good stuff before the others get here.
dibs on the vodka and chimay…
I’m thinking of going for the single malt scotch.
I’m just going to assume that nobody is going to get to the 40s of Steel Reserve before me…
They’re all yours, ej!
Some high gravity lager is just the thing to make the Abu Gonzales hearing replay somewhat tolerable.
I was going to listen to it but I just can’t do it on a Monday night.
I’m just watching the dems…whenever the Republicans come on I just start doing something else. Biden was awesome.
Vodka’s all yours, CabinGirl… now I know why all those Chimay bottles were strewn all about over there in the corner! That’s ok, I’ll sniff out the good gin or the best bourbons, as long as there are still some sesame stick snacks still lurking around somewhere. 🙂
No fair hogging all the beernuts.
Take a bow, Second Nature, you’re a hell of a host!
I can’t bow — I lifted too much weight at the gym today. But thanks, kansas! Love your new website, btw.
I love it, too, SN. Katiebird gets all the credit. First of all, she prodded me into finally doing it. Then she offered to do all the work. Plus, she “gets” me, so I end up feeling really happy with the results. It’s not finished, though. Lots of pages still to come if she lives that long.
OK — I took a break to watch CSI Miami. Then I went party hopping but blogspot is down, so no Atrios. sigh.
It seems as if Blogspot has been down a lot recently. Somebody is trying to keep us away from you-know-who.
a scheduled maintenance, according to the flashing messages I got today when I was working on stuff at my site. No worries, you can all visit me shortly 😉
You’re inviting us both? At the same time?
wear my special hat
LOL
VERY debonair.
BTW — did you catch up on your sleep or are you still off schedule?
I plan to remedy that in a few minutes, though. I was worthless until around 11 o’clock at work. That only flies once a week with my workload.
Unfortunately, by the time you get back on schedule it will be the weekend. That’s what always happens to me.
That she is. Although I wonder what’s in the water that everybody’s partying like its Friday night.
Monday is when you really need to party, if you ask me.
Partying like it is Friday night is my way of coping with Monday.
Cheers!
(Brilliant!)
I tried to find a picture of a 40 of Steel Reserve, but all the ones I found are just pics of the empty bottle. Go figure…
Why do you need a picture when you can have the real thing?
Well done!
Though I can’t say that I’ve ever seen anyone actually drink it out of a glass. It’s much more appropriate to drink straight from the bottle 🙂
I thought I knew my libations, but kept wondering what Steel Reserve 40 was … I think Man Eegee just clued me in, though I’ve never heard of nor seen the stuff. Is that the sort of stuff you’re supposed to drink out of a paper bag on the street corner? If all the rest of you don’t mind so much, I’m going to rummage and see if I can find some Hendricks gin or some Woodford Reserve if MaryB hasn’t beat me to it yet… 🙂
Looks like everyone else is still buzzing about the Abu Doody Show today … I didn’t catch much of it, because pesky work kept getting in the way of me seeing it or blogging any here. At least Feingold rocked! Did I miss anything crucial that Keith didn’t mention tonight? Guess I ought to go catch up in the other threads for a bit, but wanted to stop in here to see who else was around. Cool rowdy crowd tonight. Love it.
Hello!!!
Second Nature — This has been a hell-of-an-evening!
You all are a fun bunch!
I think it might be due to my new Energizer Bunny slippers — giving everyone extra energy to keep going, and going, and going …
Not everybody.
Good night, Andi!
Sweet Dreams.
Figures I’d make it in the Cafe just when everyone else goes to bed…durn West Coast time difference…
Things going very well with my dad-in-law; he’s able to do a bit more on his own each day. The two main things he needs to watch is not sitting too long (has to move around every half hour) and not bending over. Had a bit of a struggle figuring out how to cover his bandage with plastic wrap so he could shower, but finally got it down; he’s not planning to shower again till Sunday, so I can help get him covered after the spouse and I bring mom-in-law home from church. Other than that, mom-in-law thinks she and her younger son can handle things on their own; if she feels she needs an extra hand or two, she will call us.
It is sooooo good to be home…I’m glad I’m able to help out, because they’ve done so much for me and the spouse, but I join Dorothy Gale of Kansas in the chorus: “There’s no place like home…there’s no place like home…” 🙂
I’m up. Welcome back! Sounds like your father in law is on the road to a good recovery. But I empathize with your happiness to be home — and sleep in your own bed!
I missed you guys (and gals)… 🙂
You missed a good party earlier — Second Nature threw a hell of a good happy hour today.
Good to hear he’s on the road to recovery, Scribe. Had noticed you were rather scarce lately. Treat yourself to a good, relaxing evening and pamper yourself a bit. I hear MaryB makes killer Cosmos, maybe she’ll help you out for a nice nightcap to send you off to blissful repose in your own bed. I hate it when I have to travel (fortunately less and less these days), even when I do get to stay at a Westin or W, where the beds are more than worth the price of admission (which thank goddess I never have to pay… the clients have to pick up for that hehehehe).
And I missed Happy Hour? Damn. That’s what I get for actually doing some cooking tonight. 🙂
Ahhh Heavenly Beds.
And you can order Cosmos from room service.
When I was sub-4 years old we lived along the shore of Lake Erie. In those pre air-condition days, I’d lie in bed many hot evenings and hear the nighthawks, which I dubbed the ‘pshsh-ING’ birds, a crude imitation of their call (if I’ve got the right bird in mind). That and the smell of the warm lake water.
Too bad it usually signalled the onset of vicious hay fever season. Been there, done that, staying here.
I like it better here where the water is full of stuff that’s actually good for you to eat.
When we have our occasional parties, that always clears out the late night rabble, and lets me waft off into the night, gliding into the delightful haze that Tom’s twisted metaphors invoke for me.
Yup, I found the bourbon (sorry Mary!), and the glass is almost empty and if I don’t want to suffer from MES (Man Eegee Syndrome)and be all fuzzy tomorrow at work, I must bid all a fond goodnight. See y’all on the flipside!
Is this the place to say Good Morning?
Of course it is. I’ll bet you are a puffed up little bird this morning over how nice kansas’ web site looks.
That’s very nice for you to say — but, I’m not feeling puffed up at all. She’s given me a lot of material — wo we’ve got a long way to go before it’s actually done.
But the first page is the one that really matters. And you’re integrating the new features nicely so that it has a finished feel rather being obviously “under construction.”
That is a really nice compliment — because we made a deliberate decision to take out any references to anything that wasn’t finished or polished.
Which is why you don’t see certain pages yet. There is more done, but other elements have to be finished so they can all show up together.
She’s got quite a body of work — I hope this site will do it justice.
I think we should make kansas very happy and let me revise this sentence:
She’s got quite a body
.
We should find out soon just how happy you’ve made her — I’ve seen her around already this morning!
I’ll have to find out later — I’m off to do some errands this morning. Have a good day at work.
You too — have a good day!
I purr every time I even think about my website. I don’t know how it would be possible to be happier with it, truly I don’t. And I’m incredibly glad I didn’t do one before. THIS is the right one, at the right time, done by the exactly right person.
Oh, and good morning. I wish I could wave a magic wand and give you a month off work, with no catch-up work when you returned to it.
That My Website link is irresistible I keep wanting to click on it!
That’s the idea. Heh heh!
We can’t blame Andi if we bust this margin!
We can blame Andi for anything!
She taught us how to bust margins.
Morning! Just wanted to second Andi’s comment about kansas’ site-looks great!
Thanks — it’s totally a team effort. Luckily we work very well together!
What have you got planned for today? We’re talking about it at Eat4Today
Ooh! Ooh! I’m going there right now!
