Saturday Landscape Painting Vol.28

Welcome back!

This week I will continue with the painting of the New Mexico Zuni Mesa seen in the photo below.  Once again, although the photo is not my own, I have been to the site many times in my travels.

When we finished last time the painting appeared as depicted in the photo immediately below.

Since that time I’ve been working on the sky.  I tried doing the clouds as they apprear in the photo but I just didn’t feel that it was working on this small canvas. (8×10)  So, I;ve boiled it down to the cloud above the mesa with other suggestive variation in the color of the sky.  I may decide to add to it later but not to the extent of the original photo.  Too much clutter for a canvas of this size.  For now, I’ll wait to see how this sky looks with the rest of the painting as it develops.  The painting as it currently apprears is seen in the photo directly below.

For next time, I will be starting on the mesa and then move down to the foreground.

Before I go, there is one other thing.  I donated a painting featured here last September.  It is currently up for sale in the ebay yearlykos auction.  Link I’ve never actually had any of my paintings up for sale, so the interest in it is exciting and appreciated.

See you next week.
