Way back when I made the suggestion that we do something like pass the torch, so when the cafe gets full, someone who is willing to post a new one can say, I am taking the torch, what do you think?
Comment in the cafe, with some blurb in the cafe about it…
Everyone can do a cafe, they don’t need the formal diary like above, just post a few words a pic or something like that.
We can promote it in the cafe’s till it catches on.
We’ve set up froggybottom so people can do cafes that other peope can close and open. They just have to login as froggybottom. And there are a lot of existing froggybottom cafe diaries that people who do froggybottom cafes use over and over. There are seven or eight people who are set up to do this now and it works pretty well. So I guess my vote would be to stay with it but maybe use email to let people know when you are going to close one cafe and open another.
I’m heading off to bed now but tomorrow I can send out an email to everybody and get an opinion.
Diane, I didn’t tell you last time I saw you, I’m so glad to see you here again and again. I missed your writing, your general rev us up spirit while you were not around, so I’m STILL happy to see you here!
I always loved the Cafe, even when I was here long ago as a lurker.
I always think of fingernails across the blackboard, especially when she becomes petulant. Meow. I know that is just. . . well. . .. you know. I live with cats, among other organisms.
Oh, I teach college classes. I switched class schedules with a friend who thought he was having surgery this term (turns out he wasn’t), so I begin at the crack of dawn on Monday, and go on through various classes and clinical supervision until 5:30pm on Wednesday with a couple of short breaks. Then Thursday off, back to school on Friday. It’s a wierd schedule, I hate the early Monday aml because I’m not a morning person, otherwise, it’s not too bad. i live very near campus so if I get called back because of some clinic thing, I can run in without much difficulty.
I just have to write a lot in my work, and I do that better and quieter at home.
Um… why, yes. Yes it was. But… events conspired or fate intervened or, just maybe, I was karma’s bitch. We may never know, although Andi is poo-pooing all notions of divine intervention.
So I start next Wednesday — yay! Froggy Bottom — TORINO! awaits…
Hey, maryb — I’m still up, but I’m ‘goin’ down slow’. It’s been a long day — complete with a three-hour phone/power-out under a sunny blue sky. Usually outages relate to disgusting weather — & my mama feline, the Queen of the Woods, does not begin growling at nothing through the window just prior.
In any case, just stoppin’ by to wish you all well. Alas, a bitchy sciatic nerve still prevents longer visits.
Wow, that’s a long time without power. Sometime you and I must talk about sciatica – I have it too esp. when too long at the computer. . .my felines conspire to keep that from happning, though.
Awww – a teddy bear. . . you must be a little girl at heart. I have a little otter baby on the nightstand my spouse brought me back from Bellingham a couple of years ago.
Yep – little girl at heart – although this teddy bear is almost old enough to drink.
This one is about 20 years old…got it during the early years of my marriage. Mr. Teddy has always been there for me – through good times and bad…and looks pretty ratty! Oh yeah, the grandkids think it’s really cool to snuggle with Grandma’s teddy bear. ;^)
So far spring has lasted from Thanksgiving up until now, so no complaints.[unless this mild winter has been a result of global heating, and then I’d have plenty of complaints.]

No snow in the forecast, and no wind forecast over 15 mph, so balmy actually!!
Ha ha ha, lol, I thought I would post again to help out, checked before and we both posted at the same time, so I’ll delete.
I guess we need to figure out a way to try to coordinate. Or just live with deleting duplicates 🙂
I could be a movie, The Clone Cafe!
Way back when I made the suggestion that we do something like pass the torch, so when the cafe gets full, someone who is willing to post a new one can say, I am taking the torch, what do you think?
Were you thinking of email or a comment in the cafe as a way to do this?

is this the right one?
This is the place.
I was getting confused seeing so many cafes to chose from. LOL
How is everybody doing this evening?
great except listening to condi LOL
After a while, they all start to sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher.
AMEN!!!!
we are back to 9/11 again. will they ever move beyond this and deal with the world today?
scooter comes back as a ghost again LOL
“You know what I just heard for the very first time, 911 changed everything(snark). Yeah I am very sick of hearing that.
yeah and so did the sailing of the mayflower but we don’t talk about it every damn day.
for some reason I always want to bash in my tv when she talks almost as much as I do when shrub is on.
Why do you torture yourselves? Turn the tv off, put on some music, read…anything.
Sanity is important.
Listening to these clowns and the rerun rhetoric is Deja vu all over again.
Peace

Who’s still up? Anybody?
I’m up. Having taught all my classes crammed into three days, I get to stay home tomorrow – Oh frabjous joy!
And not go back until Friday.
So. . .it isn’t a school night. I can hardly bear to go to bed early on a non-school night. I might as well be 11 again.
Live it up! But I don’t really understand why you’re off. Did they make you cram the classes into three days or can you do that on your own volition?

I am. 45 minutes until “Lost” is on.
You must be on the Left Coast?
Yup. The upper-left corner. Today we had a change from the damp weather — it’s cold and damp.
Was this your cafe day?
Um… why, yes. Yes it was. But… events conspired or fate intervened or, just maybe, I was karma’s bitch. We may never know, although Andi is poo-pooing all notions of divine intervention.

See you soon.
Hi WW. Sorry things aren’t as good as they should be. Get some rest! See ya tomorrow.
Wow, that’s a long time without power. Sometime you and I must talk about sciatica – I have it too esp. when too long at the computer. . .my felines conspire to keep that from happning, though.
hope it gets better right now, however.
I have an interest in that conversation as I had an episode about a year and a half ago that I’d attribute to too much time sittin’ down type working.
Since I have moondust, stardust, and a teddy bear handy – I’ll be asleep shortly. That and the early morning insomnia the last few days.
Been very busy at work and the next couple of days even more so…meetings all morning Thursday and half of Friday…

old teddys can be the best ones. I still have the teddy bear from my 1st birthday and I am 47.

Just a touch of another aspect of me…not as sweet as the teddy bears…but mermaids are fun to dream about too!
Just practicing! (Lunch photo from 2/15/06 taken at Point Lobos.)
was wondering if I missed something.
Normally yes but the site had been down so I just checked to see if it was back up. Check back for a new diary in just a few minutes.
