The leaders of Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and all seven of the Central American countries met today to discuss their new campaign to crush the new Immigration Bill that is being passed through the Senate.

Already passed by the House of Representatives, the bill lays out the plans for a 700-mile fence on the border of Mexico and the United States. In addition the bill includes tighter security forces on the border and tightened employment controls in the United States.
As a result, the 11 Latin American countries have decided to bring a representative to Washington next week to try to convince senators to deny the immigration reform.
And what would be a blog post without an intelligent quote from the President. Bush urged senators to pass the reform by stating that “border security must adapt to the nation’s changing needs.”
In which I guess is the increasing demand for more Starbucks plantations in Central America.
