   Our house-mate, Martine, occassionally pet-sits.  One family has a cat named “Threads,”  who has gotten rather rotund.  When we picked this zuchinni from our garden, Mart said that it looked like Threads.  I added a few artistic touches and viola.

   

   The same family has a Leonberger dog, named “Bach,” who makes Luna look petite.

     As they say here in Australia, “he’s a few roos short of a top paddock.”  But he’s very sweet, once you get past his pathological shyness.

       I forgot to add that Bach and Treads are best friends, usually going for walks together, with Threads in the lead.  One time, Martine found them in the guest bed, all snuggled up and clandestine looking, like “the love that dare not speak its name.”

   Wow, someone else who knows what a Leonberger is.  A friend, who has since passed on had a beautiful male named Otis that he got as a rescue.  Beautiful animal, kind, sweet, playful and utterly devoted to  his master.  Thankfully,  JC outlived him, the dog would have been crushed had he not.

   I don’t have any pix of Otis, but here’s a fine example of the breed for those who may be unfamiliar

   

   and so she doesn’t feel left out when she sneaks on to the computer a checks things out, here’s my Bu girl

       Luna sez, “Hi Bu. You’re lucky you have small paws – mine hit all the keys at once.”

   We gave this chocolate truffle penguin to a friend for her birthday.
