From Wampum:
With Apologies to Lennon/McCartney
You say Dubai and I say hell no.
I don’t know why you say Dubai I say hell no.
Hell No, hell no.
I say wait, you say go.I ask why and you say you didn’t know.
I don’t know why you say Dubai I say hell no.
Hell no, hell no.Inspired by Olbermann.

Hey, thanks for posting our book “The Assassinations” on the left there! I appreciate the help. I wrote many of the articles in and co-edited that anthology, which covers the four big assassinations of the sixties – JFK, MLK, RFK and Malcolm X. I hope others here read it – I’d love to answer questions to those who genuinely want to learn.
Btw – for Booman people in the LA area – I was just interviewed by Eric Hamburg, former Kerry speechwritera and co-producer of the Oliver Stone films “Nixon” and “Any Given Sunday” for a local cable access show. I’ll let you know when we have the airdate. It’s only 1/2 hour, but it went by so fast the crew came and begged us to come back and do another segment. Eric said that was highly unusual. We were discussing the RFK assassination.
Could you ask Eric if we could host the video? We’d gladly promote and link his program, sites, whatever he’d like. It’d be such great fun to see you … been a couple years… morethan that .. since 2003 (!) when we met up with you 🙂

The stock of H&R Block took a hit today after the company announced that it would have to restate its earnings from 2004 and 2005 because, among other things, they had screwed up their own tax returns, understating their tax liability by something like $32 million. Their earnings were also crummy because their mortgage business was soft. Oh, and then there were the settlements of class action lawsuits over inadequate disclosure of the real consumer costs of those tax-refund anticipation loans.
Now, when most companies ‘fess up that they didn’t get their taxes right, it doesn’t necessarily affect sales. With H&R Block it might be a different story.
Sorry about the double post. Thought I missed posting on this thread, so I posted on the previous OT. Turns out they both appeared. My bad.
I’d say the irony in this would be off the charts..
Hey Boo, those new/improved lyrics are a nice antidote for this whole mess and speaking of which I just read that it is not 6 ports but 21 ports that would be taken over.(if anyone wants link let me know)
Speaking of Olbermann, I like how he’s ending his show every night with how many days it’s been since ‘Mission Accomplished’ was declared…and I wonder how he likes having to intro Rita Cosby?
KO is a gentleman who’s always cordial to Rita. It’s lovely. I just wish he were introducing Amy Goodman or the crew at INN World Report, another fav show (it’s a half hour and they usually have the video up at their site.
Kid Rock has asked a court for a restraining order to prevent distribution of a sex tape featuring him. No word from Scott Stapp, who is apparently ecstatic that the tape isn’t being advertised as “Kid Rock and some other dude have sex with four women who look suspiciously like porn stars.”
Given how he singlehandedly crashed Creed, Stapp could probably use any exposure. (Especially since his solo effort is apparently not selling up to expectations.)
Scott Stapp has a solo album? I haven’t paid much attention lately, I thought he was too narcissistic to be bearable even on the songs I liked. Somewhere I have rewritten lyrics for a parody song called “Worship Me”, which if I recall correctly mostly dealt with Scott trying to get his wife to go out and buy him some drugs.

They could use the support and it is a positive message to support our troops by bringing them home. I love mine and received it in three days.

and
William F. Buckley is cited by Huffpost for his NRO piece that Bush’s mission is unaccomplished in Iraq, “It Didn’t work”
Grasping straws and licking wounds.
Imho, The great miscalculation is that we offered freedom and democracy. Iraqis had differing priorities. ‘Thank you for your offer but before we take a look, first we need us some revenge’.
Bush still think it’s working, “the Iraqi people have spoken in elections last December.” That’s a century ago. Gently wake this man from his dream.
We were told not to meddle.
It’s revenge supersedes democracy. Freedom in Iraq is on hold for the immediate, if not long term future.
I almost choked in the car listening to NPR and hearing Bush say something like “The Iraqi people have a difficult decision to make.”
All I could think of was that three years ago, Bush had a relatively easy decision to make (whether to invade a country that had done nothing to threaten us) and he decided WRONG.
How dare he now put it on the Iraqi people!!!
I realize I posted this above comment too quickly without enough explanation. And I don’t want anyone to read it the wrong way.
Bush’s remarks were about the tension between Shia and Sunni that has erupted in the last two days. It seems like he was blaming the Iraqi people for the fact that they are so close to civil war.
“How dare he now put it on the Iraqi people!!!”
Because he never makes mistakes. And do recall, Bush said he only listens heard to his father -not George H. God told him to do it.
I’d give it an 85. Good beat, easy to dance to. No I wouldn’t buy it.
