Maybe this is What Religion is For?

I had to share this with my fellow frog hollow citizens.  I think it’s profound and thought provoking.

Robert Jensen writes about why he joined a church.  What struck me about this article is that this is exactly why I joined one.  (I didn’t, however, last long). I believe in the way of life Jesus lived, his contrasting god’s realm with the Roman empire but not that he is, was, or ever will be god.  There are hundreds of possible Christianities that litter the pathway taken by what is now called Christianity.  Those other possbilities are more compelling to me than the reality of what idolators have made of Jesus.
