Last year nearly 40 people from across blogtopia met in Harpers Ferry on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
This year, we’d like to do it again. We (Cabin Girl and I) have narrowed it down to two choices: Harpers Ferry or Fells Point, a colorful neighborhood in Baltimore.
This event is separate from the East Coast meetup diaried here, which sounds like a great time in June.
I was at Fells Point today, on a day when I had to go to the Fallon Federal Office Building at 31 Hopkins Plaza for an immigration matter. I certainly have no great desire to do that for fun.
For what it’s worth, I’d prefer Harpers Ferry. MUCH more picturesque. Easier on the nerves. More historic.
On the other hand, we could try to have a protest meetup on the entry gates to Fort Meade. That might be a good way to witness Gitmo up close.

I heard it was a great place for bike ride.
Well, since we did Harpers Ferry last year, I’d prefer Fells Point (I’ve never actually been to Fells Point, somehow I always end up at Inner Harbor when I go to Baltimore…), but either spot is fine.
Harpers Ferry would probably be less crowded on a holiday weekend, though, and parking would be easier.
And I vote for it for purely selfish reasons–it’s closer for me than Harper’s Ferry!
Pass me a crabcake.
