We’re almost 7 inches behind in rain since January. Things just aren’t greening up like they should be right now.
The birds are so playful and active in the rain this morning. They’re everywhere, drinking in the little puddles on the deck, swooping around the feeders chattering. Cool.
Well, it looks like we might hit fifty at the end of the week here…I guess that’s a start, although it’s not much. I want a run of 3 or 4 70-degree days.
We got its remnants, SN! Not as dramatic here where we are, but there were at least 5″ of snow out there when I left for work, and it’s supposed to continue till mid-morning at least. At least it shouldn’t last too long, since temps in the low 50’s are forecast for later in the week, which is fine by me.
This, I hope, is our last blast of “snowy beauty” for the season… because frankly, I’m ready for gardening weather! So… our crocuses, snowdrops and other early bulbs are buried today, but hopefully will re-emerge unscathed soon. 🙂
Didn’t feel like lingering in bed, so got up after the spouse was dressed. Got my workout clothes on but it’s too drippy to go to the fitness room (supposed to dry out in a few hours), so I’ll probably work on my current project — taking assorted magazine recipes and putting them in my recipe manager software on the computer, so I can actually find them when desired. It’s a lot of typing, but it’ll be worth it — will mean I can ditch the assorted odd pieces of paper lying around, and maybe actually get a bit more creative with meals. The software also has meal planners including a shopping list feature that I really want to try out for this week’s shopping. 🙂 Once the sun comes up and folks are awake around here, I can get started on serious cleaning, meaning cranking up the tunes full blast… 🙂
Spouse left me a cup of coffee in the pot…off to prepare it…
Morning folks!!!!! FamilyMan I hope you feel better real soon. I have been busy as hect the last few days and this week is going to keep getting busier as it goes along. I posted a couple of the designs I have done to the latenight cafre while everyone else was still asleep.
He has a very small mouth and we will be looking at removing some of his teeth in time so that everything has enough room. People with his syndrome have a heck of time with dental issues. While having his tooth filled the dentist decided to pull one of his baby teeth to help with space. Looks like his filling leaked or something. He was up all night in terrible pain. When it started he was terrified of having to go back to the dentist…..he had experienced a pretty traumatic dental appointment and now another one so soon. When the pain got really bad he told me that he didn’t care what happened just as long as it stopped. He is goal oriented though and is focusing on picking out a new video game afterwards. Between that and “giggle gas” I hope to get him through the day and onto less painful days. They see him at 1:00
I hope they get it taken care of properly and soon, for your son’s (and yours!) sake and peace of mind. I can relate to the poor lil guy… I so hated the dentist when I was a kid, and still do, to this day … I think you have to have a certifiable sadistic streak in you somewhere to get into dental school… or at least with the ones I’ve had experience with, insensitivity and downright meanness seemed to be predominating qualities.
I’ve brought a wrap around ice pack for FM…something I’ve learned from several friends that suffer from migraine…
Pootie Pic for Family Man
Another busy day – got a lot done with the boss gone yesterday. Rainy and cold still here…we have had enough rain to last through almost 2 years rainfall. Webs are growing between the toes…soon to be real frog feet!
All set for San Diego…hugs for/from all the Froggies coming down, wine is selected, and sea kayaking here I come!
LOVE it, CS! I just about fell out of my chair last night when he said that… not once, but twice! Keith is the best, and seems to be getting snarkier by the day, which is fine by me. Too bad some other media types can’t seem to take the blinders off and grow a pair as well. We just all need to make sure that Keith’s are well-protected, if you get my gist.
Morning everyone, “say” it’s just not fair, all the stations this morning have bush’s press conference and it’s making me sooooooo sick just listening to him…our dear and beloved president. I want good morning America backkkkkkk.
Other than that, we are drying out from a night of rain, which I hope will now lead to some great warm weather for our meetup next week…BTW this is our coldest Mar. since 1921 and we are sick of it.
Flowers are doing great, guard dog is happy and sassy and no I don’t want your snow…lol. All this rain, which I love for the most part, is making the soil too soggy for too long, and I worry that my plants will die from over watering.
I have about 4 roses just about ready to bloom and that makes me happy.
Hope you are having a great day in Iowa, does spring look like it’s coming there.
You might want to check out the cool new invention at ManEegee’s blog. It’s called an “Eegee Board”, tee hee, and it’s a message board for anybody who wants to use it. You can even link to it from your own blog if you want to. It’s for those times when you want to reach a specific person but maybe they don’t have an email address, or it’s time urgent, or you feel shy about emailing them, or whatever. It’s like those bulletin boards in the lobby of a convention hotel where you can post a little note with somebody’s name on it.
What is wrong with me!? For the second morning in a row I entered my bedroom with the intent of making the bed and cleaning the room, and I laid down for just a few minutes and this time I fell asleep for 2 and 1/2 hours!
while reading that new book ‘Anger’. So much thievery, lying, confusion and let’s face it…….killing and murder with our soldiers name’s on it in Iraq. I can feel the shift of awareness going on around me but does anybody know how exhausting it has been being one of the unlucky aware people stuck also in the observer position and feeling every horrible step the nation took in anger and apathy? And the nation is only just starting to wake up and Bush is at some 30% number. Just wait until the full effect of everything that has happened hits them…….and the damage done to the soldiers is going to be a long drawn out reaping of what was sown.
It’s kind of strange the “dog” issues that have been cropping up in my life lately. My neighbor says that my dogs are vicious because they don’t like her cats and they do have that whole dog/cat thing going on but it isn’t crazy until her cats come into the yard. I’m going to pick up one of my pups from last year sometime soon in Virginia. His owner went through a very scary experience a few years back when a crack addict broke into their house when their 12 year old was watching their toddler and infant. They had police there and a hostage situation with her husband and herself standing in the street terrified I think for about 10 hours she said. She has recently been diagnosed with PTSD from the experience, and the pup she bought from me never lets her out of his sight….he picked up on her fear quickly and has always been a tad over protective of her. He went in for a vet check up though two days ago and went ballistic in public around the other dogs and people. The vet muzzled him to complete his workup and I guess he was completely exhausted fighting the power by the time he was done. I’m going to go get him and will probably work with him for about two months before returning him….he’s a good dog and I know that he will be fine but I have to ask myself what in the world kind of hostile energies he’s picking up around Lynchburg VA. He already knows his Angela was hurt once and he has never intended to have her hurt again, he is 15 months old right now so not yet a mature male either…….but wow I never thought he would go off like that. He was very “centered” as a small pup.

Chocolate and beer for breakfast tomorrow. I’m so bummed man! Now let’s hope there isn’t any ballot box stuffing in the fucking finals! Who in the hell would have thought anybody claiming to be liberal would aspire to cheating in elections?

I’m torn between BT and MLW for Best New Blog — they both deserve recognition. Had to go with Horse’s Ass for local blog because that’s the one I read (Goldy writes about Washington politics).
I read GreenSooner’s comment as just a little snark — having just come from C&J, I still had my snarkglasses (like sunglasses, only cooler) on…I slapped a “recommend” on all three of the comments (your two and GS’s one), to hopefully keep them from getting troll-rated into oblivion…(and thanks to the WYFP diary and the new system, I got my TU mojo back over there… 😉 )…
Second N. saw your comment upthread about the accidental nap, I have those all the time, I lay down to watch a show and next thing I know I wake up and it’s an hour later and I missed the show. Wish I had Tvo.
But those naps really keep me going so I guess it’s nature’s way….Natures Way…lol.
“W” gave another press conference this morning and I’m watching it on C-span……Holy Shit the man is flat out aggressive having to answer real questions from reporters that aren’t staged and question him on his rhetoric! Some people are angry at Crooks and Liars because the press didn’t just romp on him, but the guy can’t even breathe evenly answering the questions they asked him!!! He’s so fucking scary it is unreal right now!
I saw it this mroning and the bastard was downright RUDE to Helen Thomas. The guy is a nutcase. Who in their “right” mind can not SEE that this guy is Nucking Futs.
More babies dead. No news at eleven.
Personal to Tracy:
I shared with my husband what you and your husband have been dealing with regarding not going back to Iraq and Leavenworth. … You’re in BOTH our hearts. Wayne is now reeady to attend the PPRC and VFP romps Fridays. This is HUGE for him… he says that this military has changed so much. He has no loyalty at all to them or what they’ve become now. I know this pains him. But it’s nice to see he’s resolute about this and will FINALLY be standing with the men and women veterans.
and spend time with you and I knew what Wayne’s dedication had been too to this nation and it’s military, it has helped me to feel a little less alone. Take care of each other and we are going to do the same and God knows someday down this road we will have steaks and beer and we will B.S. about how things used to be and how we survived it. You guys are in my heart always too. March on and speak on sister because on the days when I can’t speak without crying…….YOU SPEAK FOR ME!
Tracy, I just emailed the VFP here (Bohicca’s group) requesting as much ifno on Friday nights. Cause I KNOW that if we get there and the route or time has changed and he has to wait or return later.. I dunno… This is just a HUGE step for him. As you know.
Yes, he’s been very supporitve of things I do. I’m just so relieved that he’s going to maybe do some stepping out with the VFP. I know how energized and empowered I feel being around them, talking with them… I hope he can find the same.
Thank you for your support, Tracy 🙂 You know how I “talk” LOL butwhen I’m “speaking” have to do it in a measured way. So that I keep ontrack, don’t cuss LOL.. and hopefully connect with others.
I’ll have one of those no-calorie bagels, with a nice big dollop of no-calorie cream cheese and a nice fresh glass of no-calorie orange juice to go with them, please.
Mmmm, that sounds good. Now I know what I’m having for lunch. Unless I get lucky and they have spinach and paneer in the cafeteria (which they do sometimes).
I would never have thought I would eat creamed spinach until I discovered spinach and paneer . . .
I know I’m home now 🙂 People know what the pink bucket is 🙂
Before I left the states back in 89, I got lost in Tacoma. I ended up at the steps of the Brown and Haley building LOL sasdly it was closed though but I took it as a sign.. sign of what I’m not sure but it was a sign nonetheless 🙂
FYI – I sent her a scathing email on my “displeasure” of her voting to censure Clinton over a blow job and is standing pat while Bush murders babies in Iraq.

You never responded to them when I lived in California for 13 years.
I just left your RED state a few months ago.

Hey, at least you got a response. My illustrious Sen. Ken “the Salamander” Salazar has yet to respond with even a cursory auto-format version.
It’s too important w/ the Gang of 14 that he not take a stand…and anyway, he’s busy endorsing another pro-life DINO as the [now] uncontested, officially approved, and sanitized for your protection candidate for Gov.: Bill Ritter…and his brother John {House of Rep] did too…
Wow. I’ve always thought she was a puffed up heartless bitch, but I think you just proved it. I wish Boxer would just bitch slap DiFi silly and throw her into the bay to be eaten by carp.
Hey there, folks. Call this a ‘super drive-by’ — I’m down with various crappy illnesses & can’t stay upright for long. Just wanted to say hello & wish everyone a lovely start to Spring — however it’s manifest in your corner of the pond.
Catch y’all later when I’m a bit more functional.
Cheers!
Get well soon, WW! Maybe a nice hot bowl of wonton soup made from chicken broth will fix you up? That always makes me feel better when I’m sick… but then I also slice up chunks of raw ginger and put that in there too… seems to do the trick. (Or I trick myself into believing that it does the trick… oh hell, gotta quit going meta all over myself!) LOL
Smoochies and a quiet, darkened room for Family Man, who is down with a migraine. 🙁
I hope FM feels better soon. When is AndiF getting back?
The weekend, maybe? I think they’re only hiking for a week — which is about a week longer than I could do it, so, you know, kudos to the Fs. 🙂
Good morning, everyone!
Cold and bright here today.
Good morning, ask, dear. Cold and rainy here, but we’re so deep in a drought already that I’m praying for a good soaking rain.
Hm, didn’t realise that you’ve had such a dry spell in NC. Hope you get what you are asking for.
We’re almost 7 inches behind in rain since January. Things just aren’t greening up like they should be right now.
The birds are so playful and active in the rain this morning. They’re everywhere, drinking in the little puddles on the deck, swooping around the feeders chattering. Cool.
If you guys would only open that All-Christian enclave, God would provide you with all the rain you need. Pray harder.
We sinning, sunning, bad Californians have too much rain…praying isn’t going to do it…sin will!
LOL!! I love this. So, Second Nature. . .go ye forth and sin, baby!
As long as the sky stays blue, I’ll take it! But I am looking forward to some shorts weather one of these days…
Yes, when is that wheater coming?
Only 24 deg this morning – spring started yesterday…
Well, it looks like we might hit fifty at the end of the week here…I guess that’s a start, although it’s not much. I want a run of 3 or 4 70-degree days.
ARe you supposed to get that snowstorm that smacked the plains yesterday?
Oddly, no.
We got its remnants, SN! Not as dramatic here where we are, but there were at least 5″ of snow out there when I left for work, and it’s supposed to continue till mid-morning at least. I’m 50 and HATE the dentist! Sensitive teeth and some dentists are just clueless…
Big super duper hugs for your son…’giggle gas’ is the best thing since pain killers!
Good luck with the whole thing!
I read your sig line as part of your response on dental extractions. It fits, but sounded a little far-out to me. LOL
oh gawd… give him my love and YOURSELF some strength. Please let us know at some point how he (and you) are.
XOXOXOX

I’d be more than happy to share with you. hehe.

i think flogging the simian is the best expert blog….its overwhelming to me most of the time.
i think my fave writing blog is either http://apt2024.blogspot.com/ or http://bitchphd.blogspot.com/
I must have gotten tired and I skipped the last two categories without realizing it. I email my votes in because it is a lot easier.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well shit – I tried to vote for two things. Best Community and Best Series
Booman Tribune
RubDMC’s series.
And I got a message saying I had to wait because I had already commented…???
I skipped a few…intentionally
Good luck, BooMan!
Let the pimping begin. Oh, good afternoon all. I’ll have to vote when I get home, Wampum is filtered out here at work. Drat.

I have a new diary New here. Not the one I intended for this week, but I’m just rolling with the impulses today.
See you Wed night, unless I can find access whilst away from home.
OMG – I’m like totally running around with my hair on fire now! 🙂
I must ask, “why’d you bring up crows in one of your comments?” I left a long comment in your diary. Thanks.
I’ll have one of those no-calorie bagels, with a nice big dollop of no-calorie cream cheese and a nice fresh glass of no-calorie orange juice to go with them, please.
I’ll get that for you as soon as I finish scarfing down my no-calorie bacon cheeseburger and no-calorie chocolate milkshake.
Mmmm, that sounds good. Now I know what I’m having for lunch. Unless I get lucky and they have spinach and paneer in the cafeteria (which they do sometimes).
I would never have thought I would eat creamed spinach until I discovered spinach and paneer . . .
Do you have any no calorie Almond Roca?? 🙂
Hello, My name is Janet and I’m an almond roca addict. It’s been 1 year since my last big pink bucket.
(chorus) Hi Janet . . .
(guy in the corner looking suspiciously like Omir) I don’t have an Almond Roca problem. I don’t even know why I’m here. mumble mumble grumble . . .
Is there any 13th stepping in this program?? 😀
Yes, I think it involves transcending the program and diving into that big pink bucket.
I’ll have some no calorie pizza, please!
No no-calorie soup for you!
Sorry, Seinfield slip there 🙂
FYI – I sent her a scathing email on my “displeasure” of her voting to censure Clinton over a blow job and is standing pat while Bush murders babies in Iraq.

So what else is new??
You never responded to them when I lived in California for 13 years.
I just left your RED state a few months ago.
My friends still live there and they don’t like your stances and non-stances anymore either.
Say hi to your Bush Regime warmonger buddies.

Hey, at least you got a response. My illustrious Sen. Ken “the Salamander” Salazar has yet to respond with even a cursory auto-format version.
It’s too important w/ the Gang of 14 that he not take a stand…and anyway, he’s busy endorsing another pro-life DINO as the [now] uncontested, officially approved, and sanitized for your protection candidate for Gov.: Bill Ritter…and his brother John {House of Rep] did too…
Pricks…
Peace
Wow. I’ve always thought she was a puffed up heartless bitch, but I think you just proved it. I wish Boxer would just bitch slap DiFi silly and throw her into the bay to be eaten by carp.
Wow, did I say that? <looks for happy pills…>
Lounge now open!
