Ah, that’s much better. Lot’s of room to really explore the serious issues in-depth. Namely, does Second Nature have ADD? and just how popular was maryb in high school?
However, I think we should just brush aside the issue of my rapidly declining html and spelling skills.
Both for the Cafe and for yours truly…worked on my project, did some erranding when the spouse got home, now waiting for him to get out of the bathroom so he can serve up dinner (too damn lazy to cook so we stopped at Boston Market).
That’s funny. Better than my name for it, which is/was RoboRater.
I have the raw Python code written up. Now I need to put a friendly user interface on it, and then figure out how to convert Python code into a Windows executable. I think it can be done, I just don’t know how yet because I’ve never needed to do it.
All of which is by way of saying I’m working on it, but it ain’t done yet.
I think SN was confessing to not being able to watch tv at all any more and maryb was about to tell us she was a cheerleader. At least that was my impression.
I killed a squirrel a couple of months ago and I still relive the frantic “should I stay or should I go” dilemma of the squirrel and the thud when he decided to go. Every time I pass that spot in the road I feel guilty.
It’s true. We have so-called squirrel-proof bird feeders and they’ve destroyed a few of them. They’ve also completely torn apart the cushions on our garden swing. Still, I think they’re cute. I’m a softie.
No the migraine did. It always happens where I’ll be awake during the whole thing (1 to 3 days sometimes) and then sleep for a couple of days. It will take me about a week to get back to normal.
And, you should feel famous. I showed it to my sister and she wants me to print a picture and frame it for her. One day I’ll be looking back and tell someone that I knew Olivia before she became famous. 🙂
Well I just hope it’s useful. I think the format will be pretty good, because I see an open area where everyone can contribute and it just keeps growing. Sort of like a migraine wikipedia.
I can see your acceptance speech now. “I would like to thank the little people…..” 🙂
I was just thinking the other day you must get by on a couple of hours sleep. You’re almost always the last to leave and when I get up early in the morning, you’re signing in too. When do you sleep?
huh? you must be mistaking me in the morning for someone else (how unchivalrous of you). I’m NEVER up at the ungodly hour that Andi and you start talking.
I usually go to bed between 12:00 and 1:00 and I get up about 7:00. In a perfect world I would get about 7 1/2 hours of sleep, but I just don’t get sleepy much before 12:00.
12:00 or 1:00 are just so late. When I was working I always tried to make it into the office about an hour and a half before everyone else. I’d get into work anywhere from 5:00-6:00 am. I felt I always got more accomplished without any distractions. But at 4:30 I was ready to go home and hated to put in overtime.
I had a boss onetime that told me I wasn’t putting in any overtime, but instead undertime. I’m serious. He said since it was undertime that it didn’t count as working extra. What an idiot he was.
Only absolute necessity would FORCE me to be in the office at 5:00 (or 6:00) in the morning. ugh. I even hate being there at 8:00.
On the other hand I’ll work into the evening, after all the staff is gone and it’s quiet. And in my line of work, it’s not unusual to work until midnight or into the morning. Or even all night.
Sometimes I’ve been in the office at 6:00 in the morning because I’ve never gone home …
While working I used to hate if I had to stay at home any longer than was necessary in the mornings. I used to wake up around 4:00 and drink a pot of coffee before I even started to get ready for work. After all that I was raring to go to work.
I usually like to take my time with getting ready for the morning. I collect my thoughts and take my time before work because it was always so hetic when I got there.
I think that was the reason I liked going into work early because I didn’t feel rushed and could take my time.
I find it almost impossible to be verbal until I’ve been up at least 2 hours. So collecting my thoughts is useless since I’m not going to use them for anything.
You’d do well on the crew at harvest time here in ND. There’s a couple of Bachelor Norwegian Farmers could use some help next fall. I could recommend you…
at $150,000 – 250,000 each, the women are more carefuly with the machines than the men. So if you can work through the night to 6AM in the morning you’re definitely qualified.
walleye and bass; although it’s really too hot for them in august. but it’s nice to be in a boat on a cold lake with a good book, hoping that the fish don’t like my minnow or leech cuz that means I would have to reel them in.
I wish I was a good sleeper. I have days where there’s no problem and others that no matter what I do, I can get to sleep. It’s frustrating every now and then.
My eyes are getting sore from looking at computer monitors all day. I’m going to bed now. The Daily Show is on here at 12:07, so I’ll fall asleep watching Jon. 🙂
You two have a wonderful night — sleep tight and sweet dreams when you both finally go off to bed! 🙂
looks like I missed everyone again. 🙁 Spouse and I are catching up on our “Countdown” viewing — I hope they post tonight’s transcript early tomorrow, I want to post it over here; Keith was on the warpath tonight against Laura Ingraham. Absolutely priceless…
Maybe. I thought they wuz robbed. OTOH, their short program wasn’t that great. I didn’t think Pang and Tong were the best of the evening, though. Their score didn’t make any sense to me.
Ah, that’s much better. Lot’s of room to really explore the serious issues in-depth. Namely, does Second Nature have ADD? and just how popular was maryb in high school?

Ah, dinner is about to be served… 🙂
Enjoy! I wish we had one near here. I like the mashed potatoes.
Anybody around?
Nope.
OK guess I’ll move on. 🙂
You guys are so much quicker than I am!
You sure couldn’t be talking about me. I’m always about a mile behind everyone else.
I dunno — I’m desperately in need of Omir’s auto-rate.
Has he named it yet? I’m thinking it should be called The Fournicator.
You are on a roll tonight. You should do this professionally 🙂
Consider yourself thoroughly foured, maryb.
Yes I will be glad when it’s finally perfected and usable. Save a lot of time.
I’m here. SN and maryb were just in the pub. I hope nothing happened on the way over…
So what’s the main subject of conservation?
I’m thinking that Saturday night’s theme should be “THE F’S ARE COMING HOME TO THE POND!”
What do you think?
I think that a great idea. Thow a big bash for the F’s.
A big F-ing party.
I wish I had thought of that. 🙂
I LOVE that! I’ll have to give it some thought.
I think SN was confessing to not being able to watch tv at all any more and maryb was about to tell us she was a cheerleader. At least that was my impression.
I’m always trying to conserve energy.
I got sidetracked. That ADD and all. I was reading SallyCat’s sex diary just for the thrill of remembering what sex was like in the days of yore.
Maybe that’s what’s happened to your attention span! Hormone buildup or something.
How DID SallyCat’s diary do over at Big Orange?
Let me go check.
Nobody here but us chickens …
I do see a group of squirrels around.
Hide them before maryb kills them.
I think their mutant squirrels with chain saws. 🙂
I don’t kill squirrels. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to save a squirrel’s life.
I killed a squirrel a couple of months ago and I still relive the frantic “should I stay or should I go” dilemma of the squirrel and the thud when he decided to go. Every time I pass that spot in the road I feel guilty.
All squirrels are republican
I’m cured! Thanks, maryb.
I was going to vehemently deny this, but then I realized squirrels are awfully greedy and destructive. You could be right.
and quite devious
I thought ya’ll needed a cute picture to get your minds of squirrel killing.
Is that a cocker spaniel and a bunny?
It’s a bunny and a Pekingese. That’s George’s half brother on the right. The original Henry.
It’s true. We have so-called squirrel-proof bird feeders and they’ve destroyed a few of them. They’ve also completely torn apart the cushions on our garden swing. Still, I think they’re cute. I’m a softie.
(I’m here too)
Hi katiebird! Good to see you!!
I said hello and immediately fell right to sleep. (sorry everyone)
What’s to be sorry about? It’s already 2 hours past my bedtime, but Mary will whine if I don’t stay up later. 🙂
I’m off to bed so I’ll say sweet dreams to you. See you tomorrow!
Hi Kb!
Hi KB. I sent you an email about the migraine sites and remedies to see what you thought.
I thought you had gone to bed… This is late for you, isn’t it? 😉
Olivia I don’t know if you’re talking to me, but if so, yes it’s late for me. My schedule got thrown off.
I printed out the bee and pollen picture and put it in a nice frame. It really looks good.
That is one sexy photograph. I’d hang that over my bed for inspiration.
Olivia does have a flare for the graphic. 🙂
Ah yes, springtime and a young woman’s thoughts turn to…pollination.
LOL. Or should I be seriously considering katieb’s ratings/warnings? 🙂
It must be my ‘liberal’ eye! 😉
I’m feeling sort of famous. lol!
And yes, I was talking to you. 🙂 Did all your naps throw off your schedule?
No the migraine did. It always happens where I’ll be awake during the whole thing (1 to 3 days sometimes) and then sleep for a couple of days. It will take me about a week to get back to normal.
And, you should feel famous. I showed it to my sister and she wants me to print a picture and frame it for her. One day I’ll be looking back and tell someone that I knew Olivia before she became famous. 🙂
I wanted to let you know that I’m really looking forward to your migraine dairy. Oh, and I saw your comment from earlier re: the muscle relaxants.
And re the famous bit, if only! I’ll have to make sure that I acknowledge all the BTers who supported me during my formative stage lol. 🙂
Well I just hope it’s useful. I think the format will be pretty good, because I see an open area where everyone can contribute and it just keeps growing. Sort of like a migraine wikipedia.
I can see your acceptance speech now. “I would like to thank the little people…..” 🙂
I think you’ve been napping too much lately. Napping just makes you want another nap. And you end up sleeping all the time.
Instead of staying up late with me 🙂
I think I might be able to put in a couple of extra hours tonight. But don’t get to used to that because I would hate to spoil you. 🙂
But I like to be spoiled and doing something nice for someone else would make YOU feel better too.
Is this that reverse psycology? Nice try. 🙂
reverse? No it was a direct appeal
to your better nature 🙂
Flattery gets you anything you want. 🙂
I’ll be back in a minute. My Mom just screwed up her TV remote control and I’ve got to figure out the programming again.
I’m going to catch the Daily Show and then go to bed. Night all.
Night SN.
.
g’night
family man, gettin bored
OK I’m back. Finally got it figured out.
I was just thinking the other day you must get by on a couple of hours sleep. You’re almost always the last to leave and when I get up early in the morning, you’re signing in too. When do you sleep?

I’m not a morning person. I basically get up, get dressed and leave. I don’t even do coffee until I get to my office.
If I’m feeling industrious I might walk on the treadmill in the morning. But that’s about it. And I’d rather sleep the extra half hour anyway 🙂
Slacker.
I usually like to take my time with getting ready for the morning. I collect my thoughts and take my time before work because it was always so hetic when I got there.
I think that was the reason I liked going into work early because I didn’t feel rushed and could take my time.
Any life left in this evening’s cafe? Looks like I missed a very interesting one earlier this evening.
I’m an admitted slacker 🙂
I find it almost impossible to be verbal until I’ve been up at least 2 hours. So collecting my thoughts is useless since I’m not going to use them for anything.
Well Mary I’m going to leave it to you. I am starting to doze every now and then. Plus I’ve got to open the coffee cart in the morning.
Good night and sweet dreams.
Good night FM
You lasted later than I expected.
You’d do well on the crew at harvest time here in ND. There’s a couple of Bachelor Norwegian Farmers could use some help next fall. I could recommend you…
You talking to me or to FM?
You, did you see my comment further upthread
Ooop this was the one upthread.
I don’t think I’d be much help to bachelor norwegian farmers
at $150,000 – 250,000 each, the women are more carefuly with the machines than the men. So if you can work through the night to 6AM in the morning you’re definitely qualified.
I’d like to drive a combine. Once.
But I think I’m gonna have to pass on the career change 🙂
The JD Combines are real comfy these days, completely air-conditioned, CD players, just like your living room.
August is when I go fishing; not that 2 weeks in a combine isn’t appealing …
Hmmm, that adds a whole new aspect to your bio…
What kind of fish, ya fishing for?
Never assume you know me 😉
walleye and bass; although it’s really too hot for them in august. but it’s nice to be in a boat on a cold lake with a good book, hoping that the fish don’t like my minnow or leech cuz that means I would have to reel them in.
No doubt good advice… but, hey, the more complex the character the better… almost everyone I know is a bonafide “character.”
I used to fish for walleye too. And northern pike, at least they’re a little easier to catch. Michigan… was it, for the fishing?
northern pike — a lot of effort for a lot of slime.
Minnesota
you’re only a few hours drive from ND harvest. ha!
Moving to the left????.
ha!
ok — left
When do you sleep?! Family Man’s rigt — you’re always here and never seem to tire!
I’m a good sleeper. Once I get tired and force myself to go to bed I go to sleep almost immediately.

Night Olivia. Sweet dreams.
good night Olivia.
Sorry I disappeared. I forgot that the pairs figure skating final is on CBC tonight. I’ll check in after.
looks like I missed everyone again. 🙁 Spouse and I are catching up on our “Countdown” viewing — I hope they post tonight’s transcript early tomorrow, I want to post it over here; Keith was on the warpath tonight against Laura Ingraham. Absolutely priceless…
Skating’s done. You guys have been busy!
who won?
Chinese pair Pang and Tong took gold, Zhang and Zhang silver, and the Russians bronze. Our team got bumped into fourth by the last team.
the Russians must have been pissed
Maybe. I thought they wuz robbed. OTOH, their short program wasn’t that great. I didn’t think Pang and Tong were the best of the evening, though. Their score didn’t make any sense to me.
this is going to sound terrible, but I can’t remember which chinese pair is which.
New cafe===>>>>
Okay folks, fresh cafe is open.
