That was me. I went in to open an overnight cafe at midnight only to find right before I hit submit that someone had already opened one. But you never know which froggy bottom is around.
Thanks for asking. Things are good, but they’ve been busy. Also, every now and then I have to take a break from the steady drumbeat of depressing news from the political sphere — talk about falling into multiple ponds!
The first Little League games are this weekend, and we had our last pre-season practice today. Let’s just say these kids won’t be giving the Cardinals a run any time soon (that statement may also apply to the Little League Cardinals in their league, but we’ll see). Also madly trying to prepare for a series of meetings, and keep the basic work going. Nothing too stressful; just a little too busy to splash around the pond as much as I’d like.
Sorry I missed the F’s earlier. Sounds like they’re having a great time.
I completely understand; real life intrudes on life in the pond. Often! I’ve had busy days this week too. Lots of internal meetings during the day; which means I’m working on client matters into the night.
At least you have LL baseball to look forward to.
The F’s stopped in for a few minutes to tell us what a good time they are having and depress those of us who AREN’T on vacation. Too bad you missed them.
Hubby just took 4 days of vacation and did absolutely nothing around here, and made me jealous. I’ve had exactly that many days in the past year for vacation (not counting holidays) so it makes me spring green with envy too.
Glad the F’s are having a good time for us, though. 🙂
g’nite MaryB, g’nite growthrate, g’nite John Boy … OOPS, wrong universe. I’m outta here too, folks. Maybe we can also have cool, enigmatic dreams like NDD did last night!
tosses a snowball to Diane101, just to be ornery … since the stuff’s gonna be gone real soon anyway.
My pleasure, Mary. Just wanted to spread the word around a bit. My, aren’t we both up late tonight? LOL … And I should be in bed since I have to train Mexican moderators to do interviews tomorrow via webcam. I should be nervous, but no… is it wisdom or dementia that comes with age? I can’t remember.
Nah, Mary, I have done tons of moderator work over the years, so I’m planning on sleep walking it. Let’s not say, brave, but rather seasoned, most likely a large dose of pepper, cayenne and a lot of snark. Since this is a job I’ll likely be fired from in the next few months, I’m kind of past the point of caring. But I will still do a good job! (damned midwest work ethic…grumble, grumble.)
There are many froggies in the bottom tonight. Watch out that you don’t fall into multiple ponds.
That sounds deep and mysterious. Just please don’t call me Grasshopper.
Would you prefer locust or firefly?
How’ve you been, growth?
Both of those names sound too much like frog food, too.
Hope your session goes well tomorrow.

Yeah, I don’t begrudge them 🙂
I’m calling it a night. See you tomorrow.
G’night, maryb.

Posted this in the open thread as well, but just a heads up that Russ Feingold is going to be the guest on The Daily Show tomorrow night. I’m psyched!
thanks for the heads up!

webcam training? You’re brave.
