Well Izzy and Olivia, looks like its just us again. I can’t believe how late FM lasted tonight (CG too, but FM is more surprising).
Yup, just us until NDD gets back from reading about old, naked British ladies — who knew? There’s no accounting for taste.
I wish ej would get back on schedule. Which probably requires the NCAA tournament to be over 🙂

I saw her last in this film Ladies in Lavender which I thought was great. Did you guys catch that one.
I didn’t, but I liked Calendar Girls and I want to see her new one where she runs a strip club in WWII London.
I liked her when she played Q in the James Bond movies.
Me too! And I love Helen Mirren, especially in Prime Suspect.
Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect is great. I liked her in that Robert Altman film (can’t think of the name right now) where she played the housekeeper.
I liked that movie, but the dialogue was difficult to understand at times. Altman and his realism…
The DVD has commentary by the writer who explained what it was like to write for Altman. Where you kind of give people stuff to improvise. But he was really interesting about the actual plot and all the “great house” details.
It was kind of fascinating, but sort of pissed me off, too. I’m not sure I’d make it through the commentary.
The one movie screening I ever attended was Altman’s movie, Streamers. I was really excited and then the damned thing turned out to be totally traumatic. I felt brutalized. I’ve had a bit of a resentment at him ever since.

I think CG has had a busy week. How ’bout you maryb, do you get much time during the day to get online? For me it varies depending on current project deadlines, stress levels etc.
depends on my day. On days I’m on the phone most of the day I can lurk fairly easily. On days I’m drafting documents I can also lurk, but its a little more distracting to me. If I’m in meetings — nothing. But I try not to get drawn into comments, because then its all over.
Olivia, was it you one time who was agreeing with me about how great a show DaVinci’s Inquest is?
No, I don’t think so Izzy. I have watched it though, but don’t think I’ve ever talked to anyone online about it.

snow like that in years, it was gone in a couple of days, but we got quite the dusting. The valley that my town resides is around the 3000 foot level and we had about six inches.

I spent a winter in Glendale,2000-2001 and used to hike on Thunderbird Hill? NW of Glendale. So from T Hill which way would I be looking?
Although that might be too far west to see them through the pollution 🙁

I’ve been trying to do research on the immigration rallies being held all over the place. There is quite the uprising going on. I was pleasantly surprised to see that CNN headlined the Milwaukee March today. I plan to attend the local one tomorrow. Can’t wait!

OK, now I see why both olivia and I are working on upgrading as I’m at 3.2 mp with mine.
but I “cheated” on mine — took a series of pics then used Photomerge in Photoshop Elements to put it together; I figured a good chance to try it out before I make the Alaska trip this summer.

with the Tucson protest is the location. It’s being staged at Jon Kyl’s office, which is great, but it’s in the affluent foothills area of the city and I think they would get a bigger gathering on the southside of town (which has a more concentrated Latino population). Oh well, here’s hoping that it will still produce a shockwave.
All depends on the organizing — getting people transportation, etc.

I’m going to jot that down somewhere — and I also saved the link to Jim’s info and dada’s too — so that we can come back to the info when we ever get around to this.
sounds like you are pretty well organized. I file things, but then trying to find them later can sometimes be a challenge. So when we get to doing the diary and before I waste too much time I’ll send out and sos, ha!

I got my camera back in September for my bday. It’s a Kodak EasyShare Z760, 6.1 megapixel. I love it! I’m able to take these huge pix and crop them down to something pleasing.
ha! you think you’re the novice, the only directions I’ve found for mine are in Spanish, and although I’ve had a couple of semesters at Univ level, I ain’t quite up to an op manual level…
One of these days the English version will show up… then look out!!!

I had a 1/2 chihuahua and 1/2 rat terrier, as a youngster. Best friend a little guy could ever have had, and 12 years worth too.
She weighed 25 lbs, maybe, and went for a black labs neck once when she though he was getting to close to me and my brothers. Luckily the lab just ignored her, looking like, WTF, hilarious, after the fact…
my tia has what we call the Chihuahua Brigade and if they’re not attacking your ankles, they’re shivering in excitement as if they’re having a seizure. They are pretty lovable despite the yapping, bug-eyes and ferocity 🙂

That is really something Manny. NDD below posted about the texture, and I agree w/ him — your photo almost has a thickness to it, like you should be able to reach into the clouds and feel them. It is really amazing!
I see there’s a texture, or tint, or something in your sky that I don’t have here, even though we have unlimited landscape to work with once we’re on the edge of a city or in the country.
Must the influence of the desert air, latitude, ?
clump together, I suspect it has to do with the lack of humidity in the area. During the summer months, the monsoons roll in very quickly, and I can attest to living through a moment where it was raining on one side of the street and not the one I was standing on. Of course, that changed rapidly and I was drenched, but those are petty details 🙂
