Hi everyone! I hope that all is well here in the pond. My home Internet has been out for a week now and I don’t think I will have for all of this week, so I am dropping in, before school starts, to let everyone know that all is well. If I get a chance, I’ll try to stop in some time this week on my free hour.
Thanks Family Man. I’m just glad that you can see anything — I was fitzing and fussing w/ the template yesterday and in the end gave up! 🙂 I’ll have to think more on how to make it easier to read.
Morning, Family Man. Seems like the south is heading for a big warm-up this week. I think I’ve gotten spoiled – the past week has seemed awfully chilly to me.
Well besides being an insomniac, I am a late night and early monring person. I need to be napping around 3 in the afternoon when I become a total $&^$&^%*& for about 3 hours. LOL
You know I just looked at mine and in the tools, options, and save tab you can set it to save every minute if you want. It’s kinds of a hassel sometime, but it will do it automatically for you.
I’m doing the territorial thing with Cat today. She decided my room and then the bathroom were good place to go last night. Needless to say she’s not queen of the house at the moment.
If it’s behavior I can’t figure out what has changed. She still has the run of the house, her and George still sleep side by side, and I haven’t changed cat food. I’m stumped.
I do the same thing – “can’t I have anything in this house that is just mine?” – and then I flash back to my mother doing the same thing 30 years ago. I thought she was a raving lunatic back then, I mean, what’s the big deal Mom it’s not like you’re a real person or anything! Sheesh!.
Nothing belongs to me these days…not even the cars if I’m not careful and it is midnight and a set of keys is missing! She’s improving though lately so I guess I’ll grin and bear it when she steals my mascara for the umpteenth time, it’s cheaper to replace than a irresponsibly driven car with it’s rear end sticking up out of the ditch. And of course they wouldn’t have been wearing seat belts so I probably wouldn’t even have to kill any of them, they would have taken care of that for me! Pass the Loving Care girls.
I just recorded my first podcast. LOL I hate the sound of my own voice. I also did not prepare a script before hand and just went with some things running through my mind. I am sorry for the cough you will hear in it but did not want to re-record for the 1000th time. LOL
Good morning everyone. I need to buy a printer so I can get started walking my precinct. I have the software, I have the data, I just need to print walk sheets so I can get my rear in gear. Kind of been putting it off. But buying this printer will be a good first step won’t it? I wish I didn’t have to because some medical expenses have busted my budget all to hell this month but what can you do. Party building is important!
I could use some recommendations for what to get. Does anyone have suggestions? I’ll mostly be printing B&W but I would like something that can do color so I can do the occasional flyers and such things. And I’d prefer it if the ink doesn’t break the bank.
Thoughts, suggestions, encouragements? The weather’s getting nice… so a printer this month, some new walking shoes next month, and off I go.
I like HP printers. All of my computer equipment is HP or Compaq which is owned by HP and i have had few if any problems. Check out office depot, office max, circuit city and also the other major computer stores to see who is having the best sale and which ink catreages work best for you. You want seperate inks for blck and colors. If the printer is an all in one cartrage, leave it on the shelf!!!!
Newegg had a Samsung laser printer on sale not long ago for $100. From what I’ve heard it prints OK, but I have no idea how much the toner cartridges cost or whether you can buy refilled/refurbished ones, which is the real cost of a printer these days.
I don’t recommend an inkjet printer for this sort of thing. The cost of cartridges will eat you alive.
And truth be told, if you can do it the way to go is to make a single copy, run it down to your friendly neighborhood quick-copy shop (find one that tends blue!) and let them run copies for you for far less than you would pay for a printer. But if you need a printer anyway, I recommend Newegg. I have no idea of their politics (if any) but I’ve always been very happy with their service.
Many minor issues all messed up together to eat up almost all of my free time in the last couple of months. I have been reading here when I had a minute or 2 to spare, but those minutes have been few and far between. 🙁
Please excuse me while I grab a cup of coffee and settle in to read and catch up. Also excuse any complete and total ignorance on many of the issues of the day as I have only heard my news from the Corporate Media lately… lol 🙂
And to my shock and surprise, when I logged in after all this time I am still a trusted user??? LMAO 🙂
Over the weekend I had a brain flush (sort of like a brain fart but messier) and figured out that I was doing the Fournicator the hard way. So I sat down and worked out a simpler way to do it, which you frogpond-type human people are the recipients of this morning. And it’s so simple, anyone will be able to use it. It works from right inside your browser.
It works in Firefox, but it still has one slight irritation — it doesn’t refresh the page properly to see your handiwork, so it looks like it didn’t do anything until you manually refresh the page. I haven’t figured out how to force a reload properly yet. Hopefully I will, but at the moment it’s a minor inconvenience.
I will try it from work today, and if it works at least as well in IE from there as it did for Firefox from home, I’ll create a web page where you can access it. It’s very simple — you just add a bookmark to your Favorites and click the bookmark to shower everyone with love. (By the way, if you’re still on IE you need to get Firefox. Ask me how.)
I don’t have access to a Mac and haven’t yet tried it in Linux, but any browser that can run Javascript should be able to run this little jewel.
MOTD: Return to normalcy.
Good morning and good luck with the normalcy thing. 🙂
Ah well, at least it’s more likely to work out for me than it did for Harding.
Welcome back. Hope your vacation gave you a full re-charge.
Hi everyone! I hope that all is well here in the pond. My home Internet has been out for a week now and I don’t think I will have for all of this week, so I am dropping in, before school starts, to let everyone know that all is well. I was wondering where you’ve been! Glad everything is okay.
Hi Toni. Hope all is well. I get to say that I didn’t miss you because I was on vacation last week.
I hope you get your connection back soon and give us some new pics of Andrew.
You probably arrived in another thread over the weekend and I missed it. Have I missed any photos?? The hell with saying hi to you, I want pictures!
I think you ought to have your first pair of hiking boots bronzed. (Sorry, I’m giggling just thinking of how they’d look.)
Morning kansas. You’re up early and writing full sentences, too. Good omen for getting many pages done today, I’d say.
You’ve only missed two pictures. Here are links.
wirepass canyon
(note: jim is the orange dot in this one)
And I have a new Blue Dot image in the intro for this cafe
Thanks, Andi. Such beautiful country. The rocks look as if they should be characters in Tolkien.
The dots are sshhriiiinking.
Good morning everyone.
Bright and sunny morning in the NY-area.
Good Morning Froggies!!!! I hope everyone has a fabulous Monday. I will think of you as I take the day off to run errands. LOL
Toni I am glad you are back and sorry about the home internet connection. I was wondering where you had disappeared to for the past week.
Good Morning Everyone.
How is everyone in the pond today?
Morning!!!!!
Hi everyone. Family Man — I read your migraine diary at E4T. Looks like a good resource. Thanks for writing and putting it together!
Good Morning Olivia. Thanks for reading it. I saw you’re new red rose. Beautiful.
Thanks Family Man. I’m just glad that you can see anything — I was fitzing and fussing w/ the template yesterday and in the end gave up! 🙂 I’ll have to think more on how to make it easier to read.
How are you feeling today?
I’m fine and back to normal. Well normal for me. 🙂
I was looking at your site yesterday while you were fiddling with the template. A picture was there, I left for a second and the picture was gone.
Just keep playing around and you’ll get it just as you want it.
Good morning everyone. Well into my second cup of hot coffee and feeling chipper…though not as chipper as RF69. I wouldn’t say fabulous…yet.
Gotta get little cat to the vet as she has, um, a digestive problem that is smelling up the whole house!
Morning SN.
Morning, Family Man. Seems like the south is heading for a big warm-up this week. I think I’ve gotten spoiled – the past week has seemed awfully chilly to me.
It has been to me too. I never thought I’d say it, but I’m ready for some heat.
Morning!!! Hope the Kitty feels better soon.
Oh God, so do we all!
Refinish did you ever sleep last night?
I think I got two hours sleep. LOL
Refinish never sleeps – he just waits.
ROTFLMAO!!!!
I think I’m beginning to believe it. 🙂
Well besides being an insomniac, I am a late night and early monring person. I need to be napping around 3 in the afternoon when I become a total $&^$&^%*& for about 3 hours. LOL
I used to consider myself a morning person, but now I think I’m just a sleeper.
I’m a napper or would be if I didn’t have set times I had to be awake. LOL
I guess you could say I’m the same, except I just can’t stay up late. I saw things got to going last night.
Someone lunched a large chunk of the paper I’ve been working on over the weekend, and I can’t retrieve it.
I don’t want to share my computers with the boys anymore…how hard is it for them to hit save before closing word?
grr. I guess at least it’s a little faster writing the same thing a second time.
CG in word it has an autosave function. Anything I write in word it automatically saves it whether I do or not.
I tried that, but it looks they answered the “save changes?” question with a no…
I’m so sorry.
Thankfully I’m the only person in this house that know what a computer is.
Yep. I’m doing the territorial “whay can’t anybody leave my stuff alone?” rant this morning…the dogs are looking at me like “What?” 🙂
You know I just looked at mine and in the tools, options, and save tab you can set it to save every minute if you want. It’s kinds of a hassel sometime, but it will do it automatically for you.
I’m doing the territorial thing with Cat today. She decided my room and then the bathroom were good place to go last night. Needless to say she’s not queen of the house at the moment.
By “go” do you mean pee? She could have a bladder infection.
Yes. I hope no bladder infection. She usually doesn’t do this and it was a surprise. I guess I might be going to the vets too.
You hope it is a bladder infection, otherwise it’s a behavioral thing which is much harder to fix.
If it’s behavior I can’t figure out what has changed. She still has the run of the house, her and George still sleep side by side, and I haven’t changed cat food. I’m stumped.
and I haven’t changed cat food. I’m stumped.
If you are really stumped try eating a different cat food with salmon in it (Salmon is good for your brain!)
🙂 Sorry… Couldn’t resist.

I’m mad as hell & I’m not going to take this any more
Refinish I bookmarked your podcast for later.
I’ve got to get George out and get the day started.
See Ya’ll later.
No problem!!! Give George a treat for me.

Seemingly dropping off of the face of the earth.

it happens to us all. Enjoy your coffee and take a break from the insanity if you can.
About to start the second pot of coffee… Lot’s of reading to do! lol
Wondered where you went. Good to see you back!
As long as there remains a radical-rightwing-nut-GOP-idiot-warmonger-chickenhawk in power… I’ll be here! Thanks 🙂
Also wondered where you were. Welcome back — good to see you! Hope that things get more settled for you. 🙂
Thank you for having flowers waiting for me when I got back!
(What? They weren’t just for me?)
lol 🙂
Monday Cafe now open for business.
