this is great, but someone tell me what the tell-tale sign is that the two pictures are of the same street?
the street sign seems to be the same, even though all you can read from kaloogian’s pic is the “note” part.

I think the subway station entrance is what stands out the most. That and the banner to the left of the Nescafe banner. The one with the person in sunglasses.
Compare the pics side by side…Note the steel and glass canopy, the identical signage, etc….it’s the same place, no ? in my mind.

There’s a picture over on Big Orange right now in the latest Kahlua thread purporting to show the picture that replaced the street scene in suburban Istanbul. I can’t get on Kaloogian’s site to confirm it, and I’m not sure poster Foobar isn’t pulling our legs, but if it is, it has no identifying marks whatever. There’s a burned-out car and about three soldiers standing in front of something that looks like the front of an office building. There’s no identifying information whatever — no writing, no civilians, nothing. I swear there are places in Southern California where that picture could have been taken.
On the other hand Jesus’ General has his own picture from downtown Iraq (take a look about two or three stories down the page).
