Kramer: What’s today?
Newman: It’s Thursday.
Kramer: Really? Feels like Tuesday.
Newman: Tuesday has no feel. Monday has a feel, Friday has a feel, Sunday has a feel….
Kramer: I feel Tuesday and Wednesday…
Jerry: All right, shut up the both of you! You’re making me nervous.
Does Tuesday have a feel?
Absolutely. It feels like a slowly smoldering boredom mixed with career choice angst.
Today’s Tuesday?!? Wow. 😉
Hey Booman, I managed to get the name of your site on the airwaves last night. A few times, I think. There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.
thanks Janet. You rock, per usual. What were you on the radio to talk about?
About CodePink on Glamarchy Now. What we do, why we do it. why people really need to wake the fuck up.
It’s a gender based talk show I gather. They like CP and wanted to have us on. One of the men interview our trio was called Pinky Atomic, just to let you know the feel of the show 🙂 It was fun.
We were on longer – for an hour and a half.
Did Omir get a recording of this one?
He says he got alot of it. We started about 15 mins later and ended up longer. He had it set to record for different times. But it’s still out there. I know the show is archived if that helps.
It’s nice to feel welcomed, so I’m going to give BooMan Tribune a try.
After the brouhaha I stirred up with regard to front-pagers putting too much material above the fold (to which Kos said “tough shit”), I’ve felt it would be a good idea to take his advice and try out other sites. Not abandoning the DKos community, but variety is the spice of life, as they say.
There are some great people here (and there)
I found that particular reply and little abrasive.
Why not… “hey this is the way we do it because we do it this way – thanks for your ideas, concerns, suggestions but no thanks “… “tough shit”…
well, we actually try to abide by the standards you laid out. At least two headlines appearing without scrolling. Welcome to the pond.
I’m curious how much you would consider too much? I don’t tend to post stories as lengthy as the other front pagers on Booman, so it’s not an issue I’ll likely come across too often. Since I’m new to the gig, it would help me to know when the readers would like to see me chop off the story and go to the jump. Page length? Half a page length? Whatever. I’m curious, and your feedback would be great.
On DKos, I suggested that the FPers try to follow the same rules as the regular diarists (which is 3 paragraphs — or some number of words around 300 — above the fold, the rest in the extended entry). Clearly, there should be exceptions for the FPers.
It was just a suggestion, but I thought I gave some good rationale, and almost 1500 out of about 1700 Kossacks agreed in my poll. There were some really good posts from others who agreed with me. Some good rationale to keep it the way it was, too. A lot of us took some real effort to discuss the issue. It kinda sucked to be blown off, but that’s the way of the world I guess.
At least you weren’t called “meaningless” 🙂
At least not in so many words! 🙂
Nice to “meet” you, Dave. As you can already tell I’m not the most gifted writer here LOL I do much better on my feet and with my mouth and mind rather my fingers on a keyboard…
But one of special moments Booman gave to many of us was after the DC march, he without us asking or anything – went to bat for us right at the Big O with Kos. He linked to several marcher diaries. It was incredible.
In a time where our voices are not being heard and sometimes downright being gagged, it was so uplifting when Booman made that huge gesture to speak out for all of us.
Welcome to BT.
Thanks! Glad to be here!
Tuesday feels like the waiting room of the downtown Greyhound Bus Depot late at night.
Great viz MM
I’m real glad Tuesday’s don’t smell like that though 🙂
Me, too!
CBS Prepares to Land a New Anchor–Katie Couric Set to Leave NBC’s ‘Today’
I noticed this morning that her on-camera colleagues were calling her “Kate” and not “Katie.” I don’t think that’s an accident. That’s what honestly got me to thinking that she was on track for the job since I haven’t been following this story very closely.
I can only stand the first 10-15 min. of the show to see if and how they’re covering a hot political issue. I honestly think we are entertained to damned death.
But I can see how significant this would be. I’m also miffed by the “gravitas” questions–Charles Gibson has the gravitas of Crusty the Clown but no one automatically assumes that he can’t be an anchor.
does not roll off the tongue like Katie Couric. Katie looking serious enough to follow the tradition of great CBS anchors will not fly. She’s a piece of fluff. Even when she’s trying to be serious, she just looks cute and smug.
Ah well, I don’t watch the network news anyway. If I have to have news balanced with infotainment, Keith O. is my man.
I think there are lots of people who would need to make the adjustment, but she seems to me to be really tired of the “cute” thing.
Since I don’t have cable, network news IS my infotainment. But I will watch to see if and how news is being covered.
Now–if I want to know what’s actually going on in the world and gain some sort of insight and understanding of it, I listen to Amy Goodman on “Democracy Now!”.
Tuesday never really had a feel for me until about a year ago when I started to go to the Philly chapter of Drinking Liberally which just so happens to meet Tuesdays. Now, I look forward to Tuesdays! But if I didn’t have DL, Tuesdays would be nothing. The day after the back-from-the-weekend day and hump-day.
Tuesday Afternoon. Ruby Tuesday. Tuesday Weld. Something about the name. A decent day to grocery shop, etc. because it’s not Monday, Friday or the weekend. Or Thursday when some folks get paid. And Wednesday was always too damn hard to spell.
oooh, i forgot all about that. with my direct deposit, i get paid on tuesdays instead of the rest of the people who get paper checks on wednesdays. i’m a temp worker, hence the odd schedule [hand in timesheets fridays, get paid tues/wed].
Tuesdays?
was it eliot who complained of a month of tuesdays?
I’m becoming a big fan of Tuesdays: Drinking Liberally at 6:00 in Philly, and then 8:00 bluegrass session in Delaware. With David Bromberg no less.
I am envious of the Bromberg thing…is it at the Grand Opera House?
nope. at the Brandywine Bistro on King Street.
I’ll be there tonight after DL in philly. Lookfor the guy int he orange polo shirt with skulls tattooed on his arm, playing bass.
email me at frenchylamour at yahoo.com for more info.
Plus BOSTON LEGAL. One of my only TV “Must sees.”
You just gotta. Trust me.

Some asswipe hit his fliers out of his hand here in Portland.
BOHICA is with the local Veteran’s For Peace. He’s pressing charges…
