Well, andif, what can I say. Stay safe. We have the same thing here. Had rain but no storms, yet. We are looking for them to hit around noon or thereafter. Not gonna be a good day. My daughter awakened me at 0100 with the great news that we had tornado watches out. We are forward to the warning now so must be alert. hugs
Good Morning all. I have to say the cats did not get me up today. But once I was up, they all were ready for the food to come. I had three cats sitting infront of of their own bowl waiting for me to finish doing my coffee. They know the drill. They are my weather alert sysytem…:o) When they circle me like sharks, I know something is about to happen….
Storms are over for the moment, though we’re supposed to have them all day long.
I hope the bad storms don’t show up for you and if they do, I hope they pass by without any harm done to anyone.
One of my dogs is a good alert system too — strangely enough as soon as she senses a storm she insists on going out and won’t come back in until it is over. She just started doing this a couple of years ago — I think she knows something about our house she’s not telling.
Andif, if my cats ever start that routine, then I really know I better head for cover. After Sundays events around here, I am not too happy for any more storms. Anyhow, I think I will go in to work early so I can be done by noon or there abouts. That is when they say the tornadoes might come for us here. Anyhow, you stay safe too..and you too family man.
I am hoping I get a call from work saying I have the day off. I was waitlisted for it. I will go ahead and shower and be ready to go to work. If I get the day off, I will be doing some blogging and podcast and several designs will get uploaded. If not, I will do all that this weekend.
LOL!!!! Well there is a lot more I want to do today but it seems I will be going to work. Time to shower and see if I get the call before I hit the road. LOL
Nice to see you. I’ve been busy elsewhere as well, and it’s cool to cross paths in one of the few cafes I’ve had time to stop in on. Hope life is treating you well.
Want to get work done, but spouse still in bed — was on computer till 2:30am (again). I forgot to reset the auto shut down after I did my backup; it’s reset now. I’ll be extremely happy when this damn suspension’s over and he’s back to work — should bug him to check in with the union about if they are going to grieve it or not.
If and when he ever gets out of bed, we need to go to AAA to do car insurance payment and pick up some information, then I want to go to the Apple Store and see if a game I’m waiting for is in yet (was supposed to start shipping early this week).
Think I’ll make myself a light breakfast, then go ahead and get to work — if I wake him up, it’s his own damn fault for coming to bed so late…
Morning All! Beautiful morning here on the MP. I haven’t been around much this week due to having so many projects to finish up at work. Only 6 more days counting today! But just cuz you can’t see me, don’t think that I can’t see you! (-;
We will definitely find some way to honor the day in the cafe and I’m sure everybody plans on vicariously enjoying the thrill of your getting the hell of well, hell.
And I can offer you excellent tips on making excuses to not pack until the last possible moment as this is one my great strengths.
Well, the Bush misadministration’s current guiding principle is that they can spy on us anytime they want to. Therefore, they can see us, but we can’t see them. So, they probably own the copyright on the phrase (although technically it should be a trade mark, I think).
As for the Glorious People’s Et Cetera, I made that one up, but that sounds like the sort of gradiose title a tinhorn dictator with delusions of godhood (Star Trek had some very nice phrases once in a while) would give his administration.
No, although I do occasionally pound on the office window to try to discourage the squirrels from perching in the bird feeder and eating all the birdseed. It doesn’t work for very long.
They’re determined little critters. One day I was at home, sitting at my computer, when I heard a THUMP on the window. I turned, and there was a squirrel sliding down the window. I had moved the bird feeder (a cheap one attached to the window with suction cups) high enough that they couldn’t jump up to it from the table on the deck, so he was jumping down from the awning over the table.
I moved the awning so that it wasn’t possible to jump down to the bird feeder, and two days later there was a squirrel, doing its best to chew through the awning. Like I said, determined little pests. Currently I’m researching ways to try to convince one of the local cats (a black-and-brown job who thinks he lives in our house, or at least likes to make his way through the door every time it’s opened and he’s around) to hang out on the deck to discourage the squirrels.
You could try setting out a planter w/ catnip. We have some growing in the herb garden and it attracts a lot of neighbourhood cats. It’s also very easy to grow.
Maybe I’ll plant some catnip in the space around the bamboo below the deck. I don’t necessarily want the cats up on the deck per se, because I’m allergic, but I would like to have a couple prowling the perimeter.
I am sort of sleepy. I still haven’t caught up from Daylight Savings Time, plus a minor home crisis that had me up late one night. I’m looking forward to catching up this weekend and then (maybe) feeling normal again. Now that I don’t dose myself up with caffeine constantly I find a respond to sun cues about when to be awake. I never did that before since I can remember (I assume I did when I was little).
That reminds me, I have to call his office back and ask them what happened to the explanation of how his remarks on Sestak’s daughter were taken completely out of context that they claimed was forthcoming yesterday…
For NCA, we have created a local assessment that is kind of social studies with a “letter” to write about the issue of fuel efficient cars. I love it when the kids write this and say that the gov’t shouldn’t make manufacturers require fuel efficient cars because they ruin the ozone. My kids don’t understand fuel efficient. Sigh…
I have to admit that I am so glad I never wanted to be a teacher — I would have given up in despair before I got started. The willingness of teachers like you and Jim to keep up the good fight is a source of wonderment to me.
Stormy morning here.
Morning!!! Be safe Andi and enjoy the storms.
I do like storms, though I like them better in the late afternoon when I can watch and when if the power goes out, it won’t screw up my whole day.
I am the same. Morning storms are not my favorites/

Good morning everyone.
Hi FM. How you doing this morning?
Hi Andi. Much better than yesterday.
Did I miss much yesterday? If I remember right, I jumped into a thread and after that………
You missed NDD posting his first macro shot. Here’s the thread and the discussion on shooting macros.
Morning FamilyMan!!!
Morning Refinish. Got big plans for today?
I am hoping I get a call from work saying I have the day off. I was waitlisted for it. I will go ahead and shower and be ready to go to work. If I get the day off, I will be doing some blogging and podcast and several designs will get uploaded. If not, I will do all that this weekend.
How is everybody today? I think this is the earliest I’ve been up all week.
Morning Cabingirl!!! I am doing great just tired. LOL
You, tired? I can hardly believe that. Of course, I ge tired just thinking about all you pack into a single day. 🙂
LOL!!!! Well there is a lot more I want to do today but it seems I will be going to work. Time to shower and see if I get the call before I hit the road. LOL
You’re in training for sleeping in next week.
sleeping late???? does that mean sleeping till 6 am? LOL
If I sleep to 6:30 on the weekend, I consider that an big accomplishment.
With the time change, that’s seven for me…
This weekend will be my first real test of how DST affects the time I get up. Or alternatively whether my body clock switched over as well.
Morning CG. You aren’t sick or anything are you?
Getting up this early might prove to be something. 😉
I think I’m just stressing about things and hoping that getting up early might solve one or two of them…especially since I wasn’t sleeping anyway.
Hi everyone! I’ve been so busy at Eat4Today.com that I haven’t visited, even to lurk, at all.
I’ve really missed everyone, though. And since I have about 3 minutes until I have to get dressed, I thought I’d stop in to say, “Hi!”
Hi!
but — Hi! — back at ya.
(Peaking in with a in the middle of getting dressed blogging) To say, “Good to see you!”
Was your vacation fun? I saw a couple of the photos, but I don’t think I’ve been around much since you got back.
(I’ll try to sneak back here again before I go to work)
Vacation was great. The weather was all over the place (from snow to the 70s) but it didn’t keep us from doing most of what we had planned.
Nice to see you. I’ve been busy elsewhere as well, and it’s cool to cross paths in one of the few cafes I’ve had time to stop in on. Hope life is treating you well.

has been officially named (in the FBC anyway)
in honor of your upcoming emancipation.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHH!!!!!
I’m outta here!
(How do we celebrate? Can we all send each other pizzas or something?)
We will definitely find some way to honor the day in the cafe and I’m sure everybody plans on vicariously enjoying the thrill of your getting the hell of well, hell.
And I can offer you excellent tips on making excuses to not pack until the last possible moment as this is one my great strengths.
We’re all looking forward to wishing mm a Happy Escape Day!
Thanks, Olivia! (Great flower photos, BTW! You get them off-center in just the right way. Nice work.)
I’m thinking declare a national holiday. National Mythmother’s Escape Day. We could all wear the same color. What would be a good color? Yellow?
I think green — as in ‘green is for go’.
Green it is then!
But just cuz you can’t see me, don’t think that I can’t see you! (-;
I thought that phrase was © 2001 The Glorious People’s Christian Bush the Second Administration, Inc.
Can I ask for clarification on this one?
Well, the Bush misadministration’s current guiding principle is that they can spy on us anytime they want to. Therefore, they can see us, but we can’t see them. So, they probably own the copyright on the phrase (although technically it should be a trade mark, I think).

Does that help?
yUP! (tHANKS…)
It’s Friday, finally! Which means I’m going to be busy running my tail off on Saturday doing the stuff I haven’t gotten to all week.
How is everyone today?
Do you loud noises and waving hands like I do to run off the male cardinals that keep flying into the glass door?
No, although I do occasionally pound on the office window to try to discourage the squirrels from perching in the bird feeder and eating all the birdseed. It doesn’t work for very long.

That rose is gorgeous!!!! (Damn, I need something that exclaims more than exclamation points.)
Thanks!!! I had a bit of fun this morning w/ my camera while I was waiting for the coffee to perk. (I’m resting at home today.)
Or did you just feel the need of some downtime?
Just taking it easy today.
I still think you need some chicken soup. I’m afraid virtual is the best mother henning I have to offer.
Your mother henning is greatly appreciated. :* That soup looks wonderful.
with matzo balls is the ultimate comfort food, IMHO.
Gee-or-jee-ous!!!!
Ooooh, those are nice.
I am sort of sleepy. I still haven’t caught up from Daylight Savings Time, plus a minor home crisis that had me up late one night. Is anyone going to the DC march on monday?
My computer just ate over an of work I did on warrantless wiretapping and Gonzales’s testimony yesterday. Not a good start to my day.
I feel your pain…that seems to always happen to me when I’m on a tight deadline, and I lose multiple pages of work.
Not that this will make you feel any better, but it usually goes faster the second time.
I bagged it and did a story on Curt Weldon instead.
That reminds me, I have to call his office back and ask them what happened to the explanation of how his remarks on Sestak’s daughter were taken completely out of context that they claimed was forthcoming yesterday…
Hello from my sick day!!! Andrew is napping and I’m grading papers (what a surprise), hanging out here and listening to Al Franken on the computer!
What a lovely day, except for the rain.
My favorite essay answer from my long, long ago days as T.A.:
My Last Duckess is a about a Duck who killed his wife because she would not look at or listen to the Duck.

I’ll share some mother hen soup — Andi made it. Made me feel tons better. Hope you do too. {{{TT}}}
Definitely frog weather here…webcam @ 11:08 AMDT
39° fog, rain, mist and snow…something for everyone, except sun. Enjoy.
Later
Peace
Looks like our weather here in ottawa, minus the snow. Got a toasty fire going though.
Glad you’re feeling on the up and taking, what I presume to be, a 3 day wkend…good on you!
Supposed to clear out and be in the 60’s for the weekend…we’ll see.
Great pics, as usual, up thread.
Be well
Peace
:*
My flowers look so beautiful today I wanted to share them with you…gloomy day but plants are shining.
Love the pink snaps!
Ooh, can you bring those over to the New Cafe?
(I thought the cereal might be getting soggy by now.)
They look so bright and cheery. Thanks for posting them Diane!
