May you have a very 4 kind of day
I have just one thing to say:
Good Morning Andi.
I hope you and Jim had a very good day yesterday.
I ate way too much — which is probably a sign it went just fine.
Hope you are are surviving your no-AC and your not-wanted guests.
Thanks for helping out with the cafes yesterday.
It’s a new day. I take them one at a time. π
I’m glad ya’ll had a good time.
Good morning, andi.
That looks good – can you spare a cup while mine is brewing?
Morning everyone!!!!! Happy whatever no matter what religion you do or do not celebrate!
or you can be like me and be completely secular and still celebrate the holidays you want to celebrate.
LOL well, I don’t celebrate any holidays and haven’t in several years.
I wouldn’t say I celebrate holidays. I’m more like Andi in that respect, but I do celebrate family.
I love it when we all get together from the oldest to the youngest.
I call my family on Holidays. LOL
When you live in the middle of all your family, it hard to say I can’t make it this year. π
All My family is in NC and I always tell them I cna not get off work for holidays. LOL
In the 70’s I worked in hospitals and hardly ever got a holiday off and then joined the military and was gone all the time.
So now that I’m older, I enjoy the family get togethers.
My Mom is my best friend and my brother and I get along much better now but I cannot stand my sister-in-law or my niece. LOL I avoid family holidays so I do not have to play nice to people I do not like. Plus the travel time and expense of traveling for holidays is nuts.
I guess you could say my siblings and I have a peaceful co-existence. My Mom and I are closer now than we have ever been. I said the other day she has told me many time she knows she would be in a nursing home now if I wasn’t here.
The funny this is, I used to tease her as a teenager and tell her the first chance I got, you’re in a home.
ROTFLMAO!!!! My Mom alwasy tell us to put her in one if she gets so she cannpt take care of herself. She now lives next door to my brother and the she devil so I am sure she will never be in one.
Morning Refinish.
Morning!!!!!
Good morning.
Lovely, sunny Easter Sunday morning here in NY. I’m at curly’s place – good chances we’ll head for Central Park and just lie about with some light reading.
Have fun in the park!!!!
Morning Ask.
How did the convergence of all the guest go?
Sounds like you and curly have a nice day planned.
Thanks, FM. Seder was great, enjoyed by kids and adults. Too much food, though.
You seem to have your hands full with guests – how much longer?
Glad It was a good evening!!!
I really don’t know this time. It’s a sibling and his wife, so it could be a couple of weeks or much longer.
Ate too much huh. That always happens to me with our family get togethers.
LOL I told you to leave a map to the motel on the door.
As I told Ask, this is a sibling and it’s as much their home as mine, so I just keep on keeping on.
I will be glad when the AC is fixed though. It appears when I start getting overheated, my non-existent temper starts trying to emerge.
You are a good man. Maybe the heat and no sc will convonce them to cut the trip short. LOL
My typing gets worse by the moment and I always forget to use spell check . LOL
One the first part with the heat and family, I doubt it.
With the second part on the typing. You’ve read what I type. I just wish comments had a edit button sometimes.
LOL
Sounds like a great plan for the day. Has the park greened up yet?
It is getting there, but far from done.
It looks a bit like this at the moment. I think we’ll stroll over to the Conservancy Gardens to check out all the tulips.
That is beautiful!!!!
That really looks beautiful Ask.
I can’t believe I used to think NYC was one of the places I never wanted to go.
Central Park is such a great resource. curly is fortunate to live just half a block away from the park and just a few blocks south of the entrance to the Conservancy Gardens.
Do a virtual tour.
That looks very pretty. Enjoy.
Here are some Easter designs to brighten your Easter Sunday.
Happy Easter Egg
Rainbow Easter Bonnet
Easter Bunny Express
Great looking cards Refinish. Your talent has no bounds. π
Thank you!!! I do have fun doing holiday designs. LOL
The dogwood and redbuds flowers opened up this morning!
Brown County, IN 04/15/06 7:31 a.m.
The Dogwoods have to bloom for easter. Otherwise you have bad luck for the coming year or at least that was what I was told growing up.
Where did you hear that? Optimism is the key.
Growing up as a kid in NC.
Sort of like if the drought don’t kill the corn, it will be a good year in the outhouse.
Don’t ask me where that came from, just some crude southern humor.
LOL
I’d like to say we have the same saying for Passover but no matter the holiday, I’ve never heard any folklore before that tied dogwoods to luck of any kind.
You know we have woods all around, but I hardly ever go walking out in them. I think your pictures are going to start me walking in different ways.
You never know what you will find in the woods. LOL
The thing that is wonderful about woods is that they are never the same — things are always growing, things are always dying, the light is always changing, the birds, insects, and animals are always coming and going.
Oh and I don’t know what date it is. The picture date should be the 16th.
When I lived in Germany I used to go for walks all the time in the woods. It seemed to me their woods were so well taken care of. Here, it’s almost like wilderness and brush and whatever is everywhere. I wish there was some nice wooded parkland nearby.
outside Frankfurt — they were so neat and manicured it felt more like walking in some elaborate garden. I like my woods wild.
That’s so pretty! The blossoms look so delicate, like they’re just floating in the air.
It hit 90 here yesterday and after trying not to use the AC most of the day I finally turned it on in the late afternoon to try to cool off the upstairs for sleeping. And…nothing.
It was an uncomfortably warm and sweaty night. I hate waking up sweaty. And my headache got so bad by bedtime last night that I put ice packs on my forehad and the back of my neck just so I could fall asleep.
So the next few days are supposed to remain hot and sticky and the AC doesn’t work upstairs. Yuck.
Hi SN.
I always think that, when the dogwood blossoms are fully open and bright white, the woods like time has been stopped during a gentle snowfall.
Sorry about the AC — I guess you could use this as an excuse to sleep separate from Mr. Snore.
I’m even sorrier about the headache.
Thanks, my headache went down to about a 6 a couple hours ago and I finally got some sleep. Sympathy is nice. π
I’m going to grab a cup of coffee – I’ll be back later.
I’m back for a minute.
SN on a 1 to 10 scale, 6 is still a pretty bad headache. I know you want to get some stuff done around your house, but there is nothing that can’t wait when it involves a massive headache and asthma.
You do whatever you have to do to keep the HA and asthma at bay.
Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.
{{{{{SN}}}}}
Thanks Family Man. I know I’m going to be spending most of my time downstairs where the AC still works.
Well I’m at least happy to hear that. π
Andi I was telling Refinish yesterday I hooked up my old monitor to my laptop. I figured out how to use two monitors at once. It’s actually pretty cool I think.
I fear the tide is turning and instead of me turning ya’ll lazy, I’m becoming a multi-tasker.
Well I’ve got to get the day started and clean up everything from last night. Gotta get some major cooking done, before the heat hits.
Check back later.
Off to the in-laws today which is mostly a good thing. Food and company are fine and the religion is very light. That’s in part because my sister-in-law and her husband are observant jews, my father-in-law and his wife are (probably) largely non-observant christians of different flavors, and Dr.Mc and I are atheists. Not big on holidays myself, part of it’s a post modern family structure – eight parents in five sets – and part of it’s that having my soon to be ex-stepfather’s family as the one I spent most holidays with while growing up really soured me on the whole family get-together thing. Some of them are all right, but the ones that aren’t really aren’t.
