I’ve always had a special fondness for parrots. I even had one as a pet many years ago.
Now, living in Australia, I have them in my backyard.
These Green Rosellas are members of a group of seven that frequent our property. There are two other groups that also regularly visit – one with four members, and one with twelve. I took these photos in our backyard this morning.
In this shot in particular, you can see how well their colors match the Australian bush.
They mostly feed on grass seeds. Hence the fossicking about in the grass.
A couple of our dogs jamming…
Here’s one from our shop…
Thanks for the opportunity to post some of these…

Hi Ron. I love the action shots! Did you get to see the dog agility thread a couple of weeks back?
Luna is nowhere near as agile as a Border Collie, but it’s still a lot of fun for both of us.
I did not see that.
Really cool. Is Luna a Great Pyranees?
That’s real cool.
If you like action photography of dogs, check out : http://seespotrunphoto.com .
Steve is a buddy of mine, and he is simply the best around at canine action photos.
Unreal stuff there.
You might be able to see the ass shot of me (no dog, just my ass in motion.) It is a favorite on one of his galleries.
thanks for sharing Luna’s Agility Experience.
Yes, Luna is a Great Pyrenees – and amazingly agile for her size.
I looked at some of the images at seespotrunphoto. Lots of fun pics. Couldn’t find your ass, though.
I can’t believe you missed it, lol.
Bud would go chase after them but he’s gearing up for a nap
Yeah, Bud’s such a fierce hunter, isn’t he Manny? Bet the feathers and fur would be flying all over the place… well, maybe the birds would be flying! 🙂
Bud, aka “Gravity Dog,” can always be counted on to do his part to keep the floor, or the couch, from flying up and smacking us in the face.
don’t know how to say this ManEe, but seems to me Bud was stunned by the flash!
have that shocked look on his face, but I assure you that within 2 minutes of taking the picture he was completely passed out. The nap cycle was completely uninterrupted 🙂
Nice photos, Keres!
ah…squawks.
Not a full parrot, but my peach-faced lovebird, Bitey.
After bath:
And dry again:
Lovely pictures. I needed to smile this morning.
Sapphire:
If I did, I’ll have to add this one:
Cat wanting a scratch on the tummy.
Ball, what ball?
I never told you how cool these images are.
And to have once shared your life with a parrot… I am sure it is special.
