Ralph, you ignorant, arrogant shithead. Thanks for the gift that keeps on giving…..an ignorant, arrogant shithead for President, one that isn’t you.
Here’s why we’re are screwed in Iraq in particular and in foreign policy in general. From the New Yorker, George Packer on Dubya.
Last week, in California, he described his policymaking process in unmistakably clear terms. “I base a lot of my foreign-policy decisions on some things that I think are true,” he said. “One, I believe there’s an Almighty. And, secondly, I believe one of the great gifts of the Almighty is the desire in everybody’s soul, regardless of what you look like or where you live, to be free.”
The really scary thing is the Republican cynical manipulation of the other right wing Christian lunatics who think in the same shallow, infantile way about foreign policy, and that this manipulation allows them to elect an ignorant arrogant shithead that isn’t Ralph Nader, and that John Kerry couldn’t bury this guy.
Get ready for the liberal street fighters to assert (falsely) that Nader did not cost Gore the 2000 election.
I have been through it with them before.
But you are exactly right: third party candidacies are dangerous in our system of winner take all elections.
Pathetic….
Same sorry whine…different day
Just as neither Gore nor I could have possibly anticipated the near-Armageddon-like levels of destruction perpetrated by Bush, neither did Nader.
I’d rather focus my rage where it’s most deserved, and dismiss Nader as the irrelevant sideshow freak he has made himself. (Actually, I’d rather NOT dismiss him, but he has made that impossible.)
Isn’t one of the prime rules of this site to NOT be a prick?
Yeah, I thought so. Nothing worse (well maybe not nothing) then a bunch of whiny Democratic Party losers blaming others for their own defeat. I thought that was the Repubs MO.
Obviously, I really screwed up with the title. It was the vino, I swear.
That’s too bad because the point is Bush’s idiotic decision making which the quote highlights, and which it seems everyone is ignoring because of the title I threw on it.
Regardless, politicians like Nader and Bush have to be judged according to the consequences of their actions, and the egocentric decision making of the former has given us the lunatic, deluded decision making of the latter.
