Morning Andi and all the other froggies. I hope everyone had a great Sunday!!!! I had a blast at the bloggers meetup yesterday and then ran ninto some more liberal friends and did not get home till 10 pm. LOL All in all Sunday was a blast.
I’m great, other than having to go to work this morning (bleh). 🙂 It’s cloudly here today, looks like it might rain. I wish I could send some your way, but then if it keeps raining your grass will get so out of control. Best to cut it now before it looks like the lawn in that photo on your blog! 🙂
Yea I’ve got to today. My neighbors keep their in show shape, so what I consider just a little overgrown, they would consider a jungle. I honestly think one of my next door neighbors measures the height of his grass.
I was born to be a wealthy heir, but my parents let me down. I should be saying right now “Jeeves I’ll have my breakfast now, and none of that domestic Champagne.”
We’ve been getting some welcome rain and this morning is downright chilly in the house. Supposed to rain off and on until Wednesday.
I was sitting at the table drinking coffee while the boys were eating and getting ready for school and I saw one of last year’s hummingbirds eyeing the spot where the hummingbird feeder is supposed to be – but isn’t yet. So I hunted it down in the garage, boiled some sugar water and now I’m waiting for it to cool so I can hang it outside. They’re so fun to watch – zipping around the yard and hovering over the feeder to eat. We have it hanging on the window with a suction cup and they’re so close you can actually see their long tongues lapping at the liquid. So cool.
Morning SN. We have a few feeders outside too. Our next door neighbor always has it seems like hundreds around her house. She won’t thell me what she puts into the feeders though. Her secret recipe.
Oh that has got to be so kool! I love hummers..I had some flowers that they love once and watched them flitter around them. It was so much fun to watch them. I just may have to invest in doing some of this that you and FM do. I have so may bluejays that they scare the rest of the birds away. I have some redbirds that stay in the back of my property and sometimes venture up towards the house and sit on the fence/ phone wires/trees. To see the little hummingbirds drink would be so much fun to watch…
I just mix 3 parts water with one part sugar and boil it for a minute. Or you can do 4 to 1. You just have to change it every couple of days in really hot weather because it spoils.
No, that’s a common misconception. When you buy a hummingbird feeder (usually less than five dollars) it will be yellow or red. The nectar should be clear. And don’t waste your money buying nectar. 🙂
I took it down when I washed the windows during what passes for winter in Alabama. It is definitely time though! Last year in a local paper they had a photo of a hummingbird that a bird watcher had been able to capture and tag and the same little guy showed up at the same feeder a year later.
Good Morning from the great state of TN. The sun is OUT!!!! yea…looks like a great beginning of the day anyhow. God only knows how it will end up as…..
I had a board meeting this Saturday and so my day was fully taken up and then on Sun morning early I was called out for work. So yesterday was a day of mixed sleep and laundry. I do hope that the rest of the week allows for a normalcy of some sort…:o)
Good to see everyone here and in such great form. FM, when you get done with your lawn, come on over for mine. I could use your help…:o) The rain we have had has just made it all the more environmentally good for growing…yuk.
Can’t stay too long….the cats got the routine down pat and still do what they are good at…making me get up on time..I think their bellies are telling me that they have a timetable all of their own…tee hee….
This morning since I have been on a weird schedule for 48 hours, the have gotten back to the normalcy and ate, did the rest of their thing, and now back to napping…what is there to say???!!!
Am looking forward to meet up in Memphis this month. Will be so good to meet those whom I chat with here. So if you can come, please do..will be fun and lots of BBQ to eat too…We can judge all on our own who is the best and then some…:o) I hope we can take in some Beale ST and the good music and such too.
Anyhow, must get ready for work..so, have a great day..
I know, FM. We will enjoy for you…:o) I will be sure to tell y ou all that happened…OK? That way you can still enjoy it with us secondhand…We will miss you for sure!
Thanks, Olivia. Good to see ya today. I have got just a few more minutes, before it is shower time. Am listening to c-span while I write. They have got a rep/dem pollsters debating on the election of the midterms. so much fun to listen to them battle back and forth…:o)
Well, friends, have to run now for getting ready for work. I wish you all a great day. Stay well and safe and hope to drop in later on this afternoon. Hugs to all…..
I still remember something I saw on Discovery about how at the Palace of Versailles everyone had to be perfumed up so much because of no baths and how there were no bathroom so people, ahem, relieved themselves under stairwells.
No open windows but I can stand 76 degrees inside just fine and I think we will do without a whole bunch of air conditioning this summer. My allergies are fricken horrible this year here too and I have developed asthma symptoms. I went to the ENT here last Tuesday and along with the Claritin I got some Prednesone (yuck, only took it one day for Cabingirl) to knock down some of the inflamation, Nasonex, and lastly Singulair. I am on day six of the Singulair and finally had noticeable relief breathing this morning when I woke up………except for that smell!
She’s a long time user. With her problems she also has a machine she breathes medicine through and I have to have a nebulizer around her all the time. During the winter she’s OK, but this time of season get to her.
I’d have to look and I really should know all her meds by now, but I think she has Advair also.
I watch the allergy reports everyday to see how it’s going to be and I’m always happy for rain. The yellow pollen hasn’t gotten bad here yet, but it will.
Sounds like everyone is all revved up for another week (or not?) Just stopping in for a quick hello, since I’m now back in my cube at work, <sigh>. I need another weekend to relax from my busy weekend, hehe.
With all that hummingbird talk up thread, I thought I’d put my 2c worth in on a couple of plants they like for those who have them coming around. We have some that come when certain things in our garden bloom… they especially like the red variety of Bee Balm monarda didyma as well as Trumpet Vine (which we don’t have as it’s rather invasive). It is true that they are attracted to fire colors in flowers, so reds and oranges really bring them around. And yes, FM, they are fiercely territorial … my sister has a nest in her yard and she watched a bird fight between two males last summer and was shocked at the aggressiveness they can display. They sure are cool little birds though… and good luck trying to get a photo… I’ve been trying for 3 years, but every time I think I can get close enough to take a pic, they fly away. They’re very skittish, as I’m sure you know! Maybe SN or Olivia can get a telephoto lens and capture them. Anyway…
Probably should get something done here… I can’t slack all day, as much as I would love to! My best to all, and catch up with you folks later!
or it would be, if it weren’t Monday.
Andif, what a lovely rainbow. I am looking forward to your new pictures, this year. Where do you and hubby plan on taking trips to this summer?
Morning Andi and all the other froggies. I hope everyone had a great Sunday!!!! I had a blast at the bloggers meetup yesterday and then ran ninto some more liberal friends and did not get home till 10 pm. LOL All in all Sunday was a blast.
Glad you had an excellent day. Sound like it was really fun.
I’m missing all the good stuff lately damn it!
Morning Refinish. Get my message about your podcast?
One of the dogs left me a smelly wake up call at 4:30 but I got some good reading and blogging in.
I get early morning wake-up calls from the dogs all the time but thankfully mine run to licks on the nose, door scratching, and howling.
A good morning to you.
and it was one of them that really did wake me up. I think he was tattling!
Or perhaps just concerned that you didn’t walk somewhere you wouldn’t want to before you were fully awake.
Poor Tracy. I’m lucky with George. He’s lazier than I am and will want to sleep until I’ve been up for awhile.
How wonderful! 🙂 Does he nap when you do too?
Of course. Whenever I lie down he has to snuggle up right by me.
How are you this morning Olivia?
He really does sound wonderful. >’.'<
I’m great, other than having to go to work this morning (bleh). 🙂 It’s cloudly here today, looks like it might rain. I wish I could send some your way, but then if it keeps raining your grass will get so out of control. Best to cut it now before it looks like the lawn in that photo on your blog! 🙂

Morning Everyone. What a lovely, dry, lawn working, sweaty, hot, and possibly miserable day today is.
But it will make your nap even more splendid than usual.
I think today will be a busy one for me.
I was born to be a wealthy heir, but my parents let me down. I should be saying right now “Jeeves I’ll have my breakfast now, and none of that domestic Champagne.”

Maybe Cuervo Gold?
Aren’t they fun to watch? I’m going to try to get some pictures.
I’ll keep experimenting. I heard hummingbirds area territorial, so we always get some of hers over here.
Good morning, SN.
Sometimes hummingbirds hang out right outside the window in front of the computer. They are wonderful to watch.
Good morning Andi, FM, SN.
SN, Andi — seeing as you have relatively close-up access, you’ll have to experiment w/ some photos!
The way you are with pictures I’d say you’d be hang gliding soon and trying to get close ups of flying birds.
When they’re just outside the window — and it’s SN who’d have to do it, not me … 😛
I’d be shooting through a screen and a always dirty window so I don’t think the shots would work out. So I’ll let SN do the experimenting.
You just reminded me of something else I’ve got to get done this week. The windows.
I myself don’t mind dirty windows. I’ve always thought of them as cheap curtains.
You’re funny. 🙂
See you all later. I’m off to work.
Have a good day Olivia.

I always have heard that if you see a redbird you make a wish and it’ll will come true.
Hasn’t worked for me yet, but I still do.
I have not heard that one…maybe I should start doing the wish thing….but if y ou have made those wishes and they have not come true, then….:o)
I think it’s like a lottery thing. One day, one bird and one wish all come together.
I just mix 3 parts water with one part sugar and boil it for a minute. Or you can do 4 to 1. You just have to change it every couple of days in really hot weather because it spoils.
do you have to put food coloring in it, to make it red? I heard that they love red/orange flowers. Is thie right?
No, that’s a common misconception. When you buy a hummingbird feeder (usually less than five dollars) it will be yellow or red. The nectar should be clear. And don’t waste your money buying nectar. 🙂

Morning Brenda. Wish I could meet up with ya’ll, but won’t be able to.
Have a good day at work.
I know, FM. We will enjoy for you…:o) I will be sure to tell y ou all that happened…OK? That way you can still enjoy it with us secondhand…We will miss you for sure!
I might get some local barbque and eat on the same day just for unison. 🙂
Now there is a plan!!!! you are thinking….hugs
It’s always nice to have you drop by and visit. I wish I had a good dawn picture for you but they’ve all been pretty blah lately.
Well, I do know what you mean about the dawn/sunrise thingeeeee. Has been rather dismal here too…
Nice to see you. Hope you have a great day!
Thanks, Olivia. Good to see ya today. I have got just a few more minutes, before it is shower time. Am listening to c-span while I write. They have got a rep/dem pollsters debating on the election of the midterms. so much fun to listen to them battle back and forth…:o)

Take care Brenda.
Good morning everyone.
I’ve got the air conditioner guy here this morning doing the yearly maintenance, so I’m just hanging out for a while.
Morning Mary. How are you this am?
I’m good. It’s sunny and cool (but not cold). So I’m happy.
Good. I hope your AC man only has small maintenance to do. I know ours was a surpirse this year.
It was new last year so it should be fine. Just a check up.
I’m hoping for a good long no-air conditioning spell. I love just having opening windows.
me too. But once the humidity hits I can’t stand it.
Ah yes that humidity. Still make me wonder how they took it 100 years ago.
They died earlier.
Yea I guess you can look at it that way too.
But they died a hardy bunch though.
a hardy, sweaty bunch.
and stinky
Aren’t those called natural pheromones or something.
I still remember something I saw on Discovery about how at the Palace of Versailles everyone had to be perfumed up so much because of no baths and how there were no bathroom so people, ahem, relieved themselves under stairwells.
Oh the life of the rich and famous. 🙂
Hi Tracy. My Mom is on Singulair and she had been having a real hard time so far this season.
I hope yours gets better.
BTW I meant to ask. Is that doctor in AL at UAB?
a long time user being really challenged this season?
She’s a long time user. With her problems she also has a machine she breathes medicine through and I have to have a nebulizer around her all the time. During the winter she’s OK, but this time of season get to her.
I heard on the news that this is the worst year for allergies in like 50 years.
My asthma is controlled nicely with Advair, and I only use my inhaler a couple times a month now.
Advair also. I had to have some bloodwork done measuring something having to do with allergic reaction.
Yep I just looked it up and she does take that. I wish thought they would make some better kind of delivery system for it.
I’d have to look and I really should know all her meds by now, but I think she has Advair also.
I watch the allergy reports everyday to see how it’s going to be and I’m always happy for rain. The yellow pollen hasn’t gotten bad here yet, but it will.
Maintenance all done so I’m off to work. See you later.
Have a good day Mary.
I’ve got to:
Wanna take bets on how much will get done?
See ya’ll later.
