Yeah, now you can see why I got so pissed off at Parker for using this forum to make that accusation against Chris for months on end. It was so detached from reality that I just lost my patience for it.
How does living vicariously through all the interesting stuff that everyone else does result in such great photographs? I think this is a process that more people need to know about! LOL!
Well we’ll all just have to come over and step outside your front door! LOL! O, but then you don’t like crowds and BTW I have to agree with you there. When I see a crowd of people all headed in the same direction, I always go the other way. Unless it’s a protest march.
Hey I’m back. My computer kept freezing up and it was almost impossible to post a link in the old cafe.
I’m doing good at the moment. It’s starting to sprink outside and picking up sticks and pine cones from the last storm is one less thing I’ll have to do today.
Welcome back. Glad you got the best of the computer gremlins. I hate those things!
I don’t have any pine cones, or storms, but yesterday I went out and picked up all the dog poo in the backyard! We now have a double dose since we adopted my Mom’s three-legged dog that she is unable to care for anymore.
looks great, but I just finished breakfast at NY NY here in Miami, and it was great, then over to the Cuban coffee Cafe’….and now on the road…with a cafine buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz… ; )
This is the first of my Boniva Days (the osteoporosis pill that you only take once a month.) I took a bone density test and I’m in the very early stages.
This is a weird pill. You can’t eat or drink anything except water before during or for an hour after you take it. And you can’t lie down for an hour either.
So I slept late (and am still very sleepy) but I had to take that pill. And you can’t have coffee or lie down. You can do ‘normal’ things like sit or take a walk. Yeh, it would be totally normal for me to go for a walk before coffee, breakfast or my after breakfast nap.
And I’ve posted nothing yet at E4T because my eyes are so glazed over I can hardly see and my brain is cranky and well, it’ll just have to wait. It turns out food and coffee are very inspirational.
Interesting — I just had a bone density test and some thinning (though not osteoporosis) and was given a pill called Actonel to take once a week but I wasn’t given any instructions on taking it. But I just checked it out and it’s supposed to be taken with 8oz of water and 30 minutes before you eat or have coffee. Then no lying down for 30 minutes either.
I was given the option for a once a week drug too. But I didn’t want to have to do this every Saturday (and I’m glad I realized that.) I like to eat and have coffee practically the second I wake up.
Maybe the time relates to how much of the drug there is?
I don’t actually have osteoporosis either — it’s osteo-something else.
I didn’t have an option ’cause I got free samples. It’s strange, though, that they didn’t mention the restrictions. The 30 minutes is okay for me because I usually get on the computer and surf for awhile before I have breakfast so if I take it first thing it won’t feel like a hindrance.
I just went and searched for the term which is ‘osteopenia’ and found this really interesting article.
That article was just the kind of thing I was wanting to read. I don’t think taking the Boniva hurt just this once, but I don’t think I’m going to do it again. I’d rather see if my daily milk (which I just started last September or so) and maybe more calcium-rich foods makes makes a difference.
And jumping 20 times a day. My sister said she read in an in-flight magazine that it works magic.
What kind of doctor specializes in ‘osteopenia’? My doctor had me talk to her nurse practitioner about it. And I’ve got to say it was the least satisfying medical conversation I’ve ever had.
My wife had to go in for some kind of test last week where they check her red blood cell production by sticking a needle into the bone and pulling out some marrow to analyze.
Somehow she managed to bend the doctor’s needle.
I don’t think osteoporosis is in her immediate future. (We still drink our milk, which I’m sure helps.)
The game is on right now — just started. Buffalo scored on the first shot on goal. And Ottawa was just called for goaltender interference … It’s looking bad Andi.
FM would be proud of me — I had a really lazy day, and even took a big nap!
I just went and turned it on and saw the score. I’m sorry but the dogs all have their claws crossed.
We went for a long walk in the rain and got the dogs soaked. Then we went over to Boomington (the nearby college town) to go the library, buy some new CD’s, and go to the grocery. Exciting stuff, eh?
Good morning all. More rain today here in NY’s Hudson Valley. The boran2 boy is off to a soccer birthday party, at least he’ll get some indoor activity. I’m off to do some errands. Se ya in a bit.
I am blogging from the SD5 caucus this am. The Grimes county Dem Chairperson is speaking now and telling how they work to get candidates & precinct chairpeople lined up to run and have ones in the background waiting to do the same if one has to step down.
I’m back for awhile. First group of sibs has arrived for Mother’s Day. I decided for once I’m going to say, OK Mama wants this house sparkling, so lets all pitch in and do it.
After that I expect to get back to getting it done. 🙁
since i last called your attention to my Joe Lieberman googlebomb, the ned lamont campaign page has jumped from page 8 to page 3 in a google search for lieberman! and it looks poised to jump to page two!
A couple of our friends passed away unexpectedly a month or two ago on another board I hang out on, so we organized a memorial breakfast for this morning. One of the honoree’s sister and friend/landlord were there so we had about ten people telling stories on these two guys. It was a very nice get-together.
We’re doing the Mother’s Day thing tonight instead of tomorrow. The kids and I (and at least two grandkids) are going to take Mom out to dinner at a semi-fancy restaurant down on the waterfront tonight. Afterward the grandchildren are going to look around and go ooooh and aaaaah at the boats moored nearby.
That’s one nice thing about Seattle. There’s plenty of waterfront activities, and several different “waterfronts” to do them at (Elliot Bay, LAke Union, Lake Washington, the Ship Canal, Lake Sammammish . . . )
I can point you to a streaming audio station (when they get their stream fixed, grrrr) that does world and eclectic music every weekday from about 7 AM to 3 PM Pacific time. Let me know if you’re interested.
My daughter asked if I would call the place we’d decided to go to for Mothers Day to get reservations. I got the intercept indicating that the call couldn’t be completed. Twice. So I decided to go looking on the Internet, and found an article in a local neighborhood newspaper’s web site saying the restaurant closed down last month! Apparently their lease would soon be up, construction in the area was forcing business down and they were struggling to make a profit as it was, so they just decided to pull the plug earlier rather than later.
So we’ll probably be going to a restaurant over by Fishermen’s Terminal that has more seafood than #1 Son would like, and they don’t take reservations, but we’ll deal with it. Or maybe we’ll just go to McDonalds.
Anybody hungry or just coffee?
Gosh, yeah I’m hungry. I’ve had two cups o’coffee already and my stomach is complaining. I guess it’s a bowl of Crispix for me.
That cake up there looks pretty good…
How is everybody this morning?
Enjoying the return of the prodigal son? And did he like the field trip. And how was the Indian food?
It’s nice to have the big guy back, although we enjoyed our little break from middle school hormone man…
The Indian food was good…we had lamb mango. I just wish I had gotten to eat the leftovers. sigh.
What’s new with you?
All is normal here meaning there is nothing new. I just live vicariously through all the interesting stuff that everybody else does.
Well, if you’re living vicariously…did I mention I went to see Stephen Stills the other night?
And for the record, I met Chris Bowers last night at A Young Philly Politics thing…and I think anyone who thinks he is a DLC shill is crazy.
And we have a lacrosse game late this afternoon.
Exciting enough for you? 🙂
I’m sure one reason why I live vicariously is that I don’t like stuff with crowds. 😉
Steve Stills solo, okay. Steve Stills in a reunion of Buffalo Springfield, priceless.
Yeah, now you can see why I got so pissed off at Parker for using this forum to make that accusation against Chris for months on end. It was so detached from reality that I just lost my patience for it.

Ah but that’s either a week or two on vacation or just stepping outside my door.
Well we’ll all just have to come over and step outside your front door! LOL! O, but then you don’t like crowds and BTW I have to agree with you there. When I see a crowd of people all headed in the same direction, I always go the other way. Unless it’s a protest march.
Speaking of stepping outside the door — the dogs want to go get soaked so I’m putting on the rain gear and heading out. Talk to you later.
have a nice walk, check you later, I’m going to work on my book for a bit!

Ah yes dog poo. I’ve always thought there should be some use for it like burning camel (or whichever dung) for fire and heat.
Then again, in LA I don’t guess you would have need for smelly heat. 🙂
Thanks for the kind thoughts, FM. LOL!!!!!
Well someone has to think of these things. 🙂
looks great, but I just finished breakfast at NY NY here in Miami, and it was great, then over to the Cuban coffee Cafe’….and now on the road…with a cafine buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz… ; )
catch you all later…on the road today..
peace all…
Have a good one.
Sorry I missed you, glad to hear you’re still kickin’…later.
Peace Bro
Infidelpig! Where the hay-ell ya BEEN?
I wondered if the revenooers had got to you or something.
Good to see you popping in! Hope life’s treating you well!
I’ve got to get a shower and start to get the house sparkling.
See Ya’ll later.
Beautiful, if windy, morn in the foothills…moving very slow this AM…which is good.
More. Coffee. Required.
Peace
Morning dada. Wonderful picture.

I thought it was just me. But I was wrong.

I’m going to have a talk with my doctor about it. Not sure what I’m going to do.
I guess that’s the thing to do to start with. Although I’ve already got 5 appointments scheduled with specialists (I’ve got a falling pelvic floor)
Omir, I hope she’s OK? I’ve got extra-big red blood cells, but everyone says it doesn’t matter.
What’s a falling pelvic floor? You just sort of tossed it off but I’m guessing if you have 5 appointments it isn’t anything to be casual about.
How are you doing? What time is the game?
The game is on right now — just started. Buffalo scored on the first shot on goal. And Ottawa was just called for goaltender interference … It’s looking bad Andi.

I know this cafe is closed, but I’m responding here …
I bet the dogs loved that! What CDs did you get? You can respond in the new cafe … 🙂
Nap, did I hear nap. Slacking 101 has begun.

Seems like a lively group and should be fun.
Refinish did you take your camera with you?

Sounds like it will be a wonderful time Omir.
Wish I was at a place where I could ooh and aaah at boats.
We’ll make room at the table.

Does anyone here have XM radio? Do they still have a World Music station? I can’t find one in their program guide, but I might just be missing it.
Sorry mir701, but don’t own it. I’m sure someone will be in the cafe that does. Keep checking back.
I can point you to a streaming audio station (when they get their stream fixed, grrrr) that does world and eclectic music every weekday from about 7 AM to 3 PM Pacific time. Let me know if you’re interested.
Yes, please. Can you send me an email? mlr701 at gmail dot com.
about south dakota’s abortion ban.
Did and done Cedwyn.

Geez you got a McDonalds close by. Oh, life in the big city. 🙂
How’s tricks? 😉
Oh the same. Been keeping an eye out for you.
I read upthread how you had a slackful day. My pride abounds in your achievement.
I feel like I had to do something to prove my junior certificate status!
How ’bout you — been busy w/ family visiting?
Thanks for the cafe watching. I think it’s time to move on from breakfast though. I think I’ll go open a happy hour cafe.
Ya betcha.
Forget breakfast and come on over.
